Good sized male Rat Snake in Hart County KY - 19 May 2024

all right it's been a good year for rat snakes that continues um yeah I tell you what down to the cave region again today and just found this big male rat snake uh looks like he's fresh shed good siiz snake he's probably probably around 5 foot uh tried to hold him still for a few pictures and uh it was a struggle for sure but nonetheless uh photo session over thought I'd get a quick video and let this guy go back where he came from under his metal I don't see rat snakes under metal as often as a lot of the other snakes despite the fact the rat snakes are a pretty common snake here kind of see the uh the woods stuff there in the background yeah this uh Panther Opus here this this rat snake shares this habitat here with corn snakes and was hoping to see one of those today but was not to be got maybe another stop or two on the way back in but yeah just we'll see what happens yeah I guess so far the day Racers ring next snakes a nice prairie king but anyhow yeah let's see here oh yeah walk this guy back here it's a very past drill setting got a nice Woodland edge here and let's see here we go here's the materials he was found under so we'll go ahead and let him go back to that area there as you can see he's a he's a good siiz snake beautiful snake actually all right buddy going back to the woods or the metal whichever you choose they spent a lot of the time actually off the ground so he may have just uh been potentially looking for rodents or he may have went there in shed and was back on his way someplace else now anyhow beautiful day out here getting a little bit warm but uh I guess that's okay it's uh it's full sun kind of give little bit of a look at the nice Edge habitat here nice little Woodland all right
