know single snap this defense is going to be keing on this running back knowing that the key to the off success he wants to start this drive with a pass want early they make the stop but not before they do their work up top and pick up a first down man down on the play as the officials take a break to let him be checked out let him be checked out man check on that boy hope all right they'll snap this one from the 32 it's first down we got to make some adal fast motion from the offense pass on the RO he a know what to do [Applause] he yeah to be creative get quickly get some speed you got do with a of showing you why he be all man why he be [Music] [Applause] andain it to an end and these tight ends are such match up nightmares they can run so many different routes and how about you throw in the corner route where you can throw it up to the big fella where you've worked on your timing you've moved him all over the field and had success great throw great catch it's first down from the 11 [Applause] going to work in the Red Zone they can't pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone he's looking for an open man on second [Applause] Downs the defense got it this turn over ball up for first cannot win like that he'll keep it himself they'll rip off eight on that play it's second and two the Duke in the hurry [Applause] up don't good team start running back let f in the middle right T at 29 just I don't know what adaptability built in and the big F fou that cushion and made the play man it's so awesome how much offenses have evolved they know exactly what they're getting where to sit down quarterback tight end on the same page gets the first down out of the gun they give to the back get it has a first down marker and still running and they get him out of bounds but not before a sizable pick up on that one and the Dukes look to keep this drive huming stop Sho one of the things I love about these misdirection type plays is that you can pull offensive linemen and get extra bodies at the point of attack so you're setting yourself up with good angles if you execute it properly David you saw it right there and saying the word angles means a lot because that's exactly what you do now I can block down I can leave somebody unlocked pull around kick him out use misdirection in the back field really just get your eyes as a defense on something else and then go the other direction nice misdirection play call by this offense just inside the 30 at the 29 it's first and [Applause] 10 they're going back to the ground and they try the middle of this Stout defense and they rise to the challenge [Applause] quarterback on the keeper got enough for the first down can we get oh my this is first those are soting when you're a defense and you swarm football you stick the quarterback and you make him cough it up team me off keep hitting that quarter going to work on second down in the red zone and still some ground to cover to pick up that first down the give to the back he pushes his way down to the four as they get closer and closer I think it's really important for this offense they get this guy going early in the game and they're doing a nice job of that right now remember he's the kind of running back who gets better as the game goes on that's a really good omen for this offense considering his success now early they'll dial up the run on first and goal and he takes it in for the score touchdown James Madison they just took the air out of that thing that might be an understatement they took the ball away and just wor down just grinded away at that defense it took a lot of time off the clock in the process as well I'm impressed with the physicality up front of this off where it all starts if you're going to March the ball down the field like they just did you got to be dominating in the trenches they are doing that play what 7 second and he coming out of the he was looking for running but not to be as hepped at the ready to ball security going to be Paramount this time Jessie yeah and and sense of urgency to triling in this game right [Applause] now Running Room couldn't find that but they'll have it at the 22 some defensive players just have a knack I've played with guys throughout the course of my career that you can't coach it it's not speed it's not strength it's literally I know when to break on the football how to go get it and how to pull it in it's just a neck the offense starts with a short field wasting no time going on this drive he makes a catch they're able to keep him out of the end zone he'll be stopped at the two after the big play in the passing game you get that turnover and you try to punch them hard immediately on the first play and they come up with the big game and when the defense is running on the field you are thinking Sudden Change Sudden Change when they create a turnover a lot of times offenses want to be aggressive they were and they get got no words defense on that everybody doing their job people winning their one-on ones D linemen staying in their gaps linebackers and DBS filling just can't do this they go right back to their man on second and goal going right back to the well and this time he finds water gets it into the end zone for the touchdown well just as you would expect that didn't take very long it didn't re and you've got to make great field position count when you've got opportunities you got pay it off and the offense took advantage scoring a touchdown didn't have far to go but they got the points they needed and the extra point pushes the lead to 14 quick strike offense on that three playay scoring drive and finish to deal with the short touchdown run from the two the kickoff team on the field as they'll send this one away on the move from inside is five just never had a chance to shake loose and he'll be brought down at the 2 looking over back and here comes the off again to say this has been a slow start as a bit and the pressure gets there and down he goes at the 18 and now on second down for this offense Williams will pass he's got his man he's R out of bounds but a big play on that and it'll be a first down guys it's James Madison on top as we've come to the end of the quarter they came out and jumped on them early in the first let's take a break and look at the first quarter stats now the challenge [Music] man [Music] I give a about none of that man a punch but they can't let it get out of hand as we start the second back at it to open the quarter with this first down play now the quarterback changing the original play call looking to move it through the air they're bringing heat can't find his man as he took a shot trying to deliver that football and it'll be second down couldn't make the connection last time let's see if they throw it again he's looking for a man on second down and they got him he'll get him down for the sack well for this defense finally you're seeing pressure on the quarterback they're outside the top 50 in sacks per game they've been waiting to find some more consistent pressure to help them win games and they're getting it in this game now sacks on the day they're just simply winning and doing a better job executing up front the point of attack and they'll finally catch up to him but not a big chunk of yardage is picked up Georgia Southern really efficient on offense the give to the running back from the shot able to pick his way forward for a decent game before the defense gets him down offense having success on a run play like that early in the game just opens up all the possibilities of your playbook moving forward play action running the ball throwing the ball screens anything is at your disposal at this point he STS out of bounds but he's got enough for a first down the Eagles come to the line with a new set of downs comes out throwing on first down takes a hit as he fires hit hard as he released the ball on that first down pass and never had a chance they've already got a bunch of sacks on them today and another quarterback pressure this offense has to try to find a way to get the ball out a little bit quicker to protect the quarterback a little bit more whether it's screens whether it's draws whether it's rolling your quarterback something has to change for this offense and I love the awareness by the wide receiver on that play because I'm not sure that route was supposed to be that deep you got to wonder if the receiver deci maybe to adjust the route a little bit to make sure that he got the first down he'll be stopped just of the end zone but they'll have it first andal that receiver found the open in zone coverage and as a defense honestly you just throw your hands up on that because they covered it pretty well it was just a good play call and really nice execution first and goal and this feels like their chance to make a game of it wide receiver shows motion try to get the edge with a quick touch pass into the Hallelujah land touchdown Eagles now that's the way to bail out the rest of the team start with bad field position put together a drive anyway and very confident you can see the quarterback just had a bit of a Swagger re he was like look all right we're starting deep in our own end special teams didn't help us out but we can fix that right now fellas they went out and so good on that last drive from inside 15 chance for a good return just enough space to cross the 25 let's mark it at the 27 yd line James Madison sends the offense back onto the field after standing on the sideline and watching that long touchdown Drive they really need to put something together to give their defense a rest and that's a real thing man like you played a lot of plays you get worn out you need a chance to go decompress on the sideline get some oxygen Palmer now it's on this offense yeah this is the definition football cuz it's a two-prong problem you've got to score points and answer but you've also got to take your time and give your defense an opportunity to get their win and the defense makes the immediate tackle but he has enough for the first [Applause] down he's looking to throw it fires to the wide out and it's incomplete but the penalty flag has fallen in the holding Zone let's see what the call is going [Applause] take little second that penalty moves the ball back 10 y will replay the down after getting moved back it's first and 20 need a pick the inside hand off finding a way to put that foot in the ground and get it up to the 37 yd line offense at an empty set to the air it's [Applause] Morris wide times you want the receivers to have some access you want the DBS to be off a couple yards so you can help set the to give the receiver somewhere to go with it it's hard to run that against press coverage and they only picked up a few yards there here they come facing third and long from the 40 he wants to throw [Applause] it tell you what you want be overal you want to be all the time I like running screen right behind him did a great job throwing the screen almost broke this one for a long G but defense a little bit more honest if you want to start bringing a lot of pressure he'll feel the punt and try to make something happen he'll be guided out of return offense that last touchdown Drive was surgical through the air Jesse it sure was and that's why this offense is so dangerous David because they can score holds it in on the left and I wasn't sure they were going to be able to C him they finally did but they gave up a huge play he came into this year with big expectations everybody expected him now that last comption he's already over y passing for the season they're going to run it and he's able to a little bit of running before they get him down uh coaches always harp about staying ahead of the chains and when you could run with that type of efficiency on first down man you are doing just that on second down looking again to throw tremendous awareness along the sideline and the ability to get and this a chance to pull as we get deep in the first half defense trying to hold on to the lead Williams looking for a man rolling to the right trying to make something happen incomplete tried to extend the play but just couldn't find anybody open man sometimes you see great Shooters and they get on fire and they just can't miss and that's what this QB looks like the last couple weeks man just completion percentage through the roof running the offense at an elite level you can tell in complete control of this offense getting some heat moving out of the pocket he just tossed that one out of bounds you avoid the sack you avoid the turnover you've got more plays here on third down trying to pick up a first down come on bro wide receiver now now comes in motion touch pass on the Jet Sweep let's go good and he's going to take it into the end get that Ed the pass and we need more that the second half an extra point away from tying this football game Trail a little bit in the first half stayed calm if this passing game can continue to heat up look out in the second half getting set for the that's what we need stay [Music] this secondary in particular and I know a DB made the tackle there but we're only in the second quarter and already this quarterback has over 200 yd [Music] passing turning to the running game on first and goal really nice stop there from this senior leader quick timeout from the offense to save precious seconds let's go defense trying to keep this offense from getting a line on who to block they keep pushing forward now back to work on second and goal from the six [Applause] early movement on the offense and they'll push it back five y oh start so the decision has been made and the coach will take the can the defense them again second and he's looking to throw he's got it on the run and he'll run across the sidelines after the good gain let's see what the offense dials up on Third and goal from the gun wants to pass little time and that's incomplete a Defender all over the ball to the ground fourth down coming up well on Third and short in field goal range they dial up the pass play quarterback was trying to get through his progressions there was just simply nobody open couldn't make an accurate enough throw ball Falls incomplete Now setting up a big decision here on fourth down I see a look of disappointment from this kicker but that offense is Happy they'll stay out there and go for it fourth and goal from the four oh get there denied stop just short line pushed his to the one and could go no further and they'll turn it over on take it on time dwindling away as they try to put points on the board right before the from his lot of room to throw if you're going to take a hit like that you might as well hang on to the ball and from their own one and they must care of the football from the gun give on the inside and just wedges it ahead a bit before he's brought down this will likely be the last play of the half he'll pull it on the re got enough for the first down and want more they knock him down and that will take us to half first half in the books time now to join Kevin Connor in our halim update killing me with this awesome bull as gentlemen you've had yourselves a superb broadcast so far today in States brow it's been a fun start to this one and this offense has really been the story they've opened up a sizable lead and unless something drastic changes things might get even more out of p a combination of lethal efficiency and that offensive line has been the key they've mauled that defense and also just about broken will guys James Madison ready to go back on the attack first drive of the second half always fun to watch you see what type of tweaks were made at the half especially when you're locked up in a ball game like this one yeah and it's been a good game I mean it's been a little bit of back and foring process and now you get the second half who's going to get aggressive who's going to take shots try to make some and really go for it yeah it's interesting I think as play callers right now you learn a lot about these coaching sta with respect to does make the best adjusts there's a lot ofes that believe we're just going to be who we are we're going to keep doing what we do we're just going to do it better but then there are others that tweak things a little bit on offense and on defense we're going to find out here and he won't quite get there boy after that Pi up just few to for the first ARR of possibilities here big tight end has a chance to run a little and a really good job by the QB throwing an accurate throw I got to hit those guys on the Move On The Run so they can do this they can catch the football get up field and chew up some extra yards re you and I were talking about this before the game how is this defense going to be able to deal with all this speed they have offensively you saw them just rip off a big play and Jesse now their head's spinning just a little bit give up a big chunk play and it's right back out the Duke trying to get a touchdown on first and [Applause] goal fires to the end zone can't make the grab as he was going for six right there W you usually don't get that wide open in the end zone if that ball comes in like that that's a play the receiver has just got to be able to make for his team luckily he Dro [Applause] that lead in wide open twice here between the quarterback and receiver you're down close to the end zone Ball's got to come out quickly receivers got to win quickly and they were on the same page on that TV that is an efficient drive seven 75 y up with a three yd scoring to kick it [Applause] off hold the n onam on the from inside own and the return man showing great vision to be able to and team in field position this drive y line L to throw on first down pressure coming complete to the right and finally out of bounds after an explosive run by this ball carrier this attack so lethal with that big play capability now first and 10 from the 29 throws toward the end zone touchdown Eagles you know sometimes as a play caller you just don't have to overthink things I've got a guy who's faster than your guys and he's just going to run straight down the field I'm going to throw it way down the field he's going to make the catch and we're going to score a touchdown and that's pretty much what just happened there well offensively they knew they were going to have some matchups they could take advantage of in this one and all of a sudden this quarterback has now over 300 receivers to his tight ends to his running backs really has the ability to spread it around and now over 300 yard still some time left and he can put up even bigger numbers and heck go chase some awards man get some postseason Awards get an all Amer just put up a day I he's just enough space to cross the 25 let's mark it at the 27 yd line James Madison sends the offense back onto the field boy David they would love to stack another touchdown on top of that last drive and this offense did such a good job on the last Drive everything in move the ball down make those mistakes Jessie and they need to do yeah you're right they had the defense on their heels you wonder what sort of communication was going on that sideline what sort of changes were they able to make cuz they got to stop the bleeding right now and it's on the ground oh the looks as if they fell on the fumble and they'll keep the ball you know these running backs have to keep five points of pressure on the ball especially against this defense that Prides themselves on creating takeaways and the offense real lucky they jumped on that one and let's hold on just a minute here as the officials are going to have a second look and you know the standard is indisputable video evidence and the officials will change the call Ball's at the 27 his off facing a third and long scanning the field it's Morris couldn't find a man just had toine know third long get set at the understand got to be rushed get him off of his spot lead back Andes the off again this could be a real turning point in the game they scored a touchdown they got a stop and now a chance to break the tie yeah this offense has got cooking man and how about the defense great job getting that stop getting the football right back to the hot hand now this off has a chance to take the lead you can see the offense too they understand the situation right now jonesing on the sidelines to get another opportunity to run back on the field they are ready to drive this B you take that kind of chance to the outer third of the field I mean that's just begging to throw a pick six not a great decision the coach is not going to be very happy oh my goodness bro SC SC the opportunity [Applause] not going to risk a return here he'll make the fa catch guys James Madison ready to go back on the attack boy three and out last time David they'd like to be more productive this time around yeah in the last Drive nothing really clicked no rhythm got off the field really really quickly they need to put something together here yeah David bad execution on that last drive so they got to take a collective breath and start playing like a unit on this gu G room at the 35 he's right out of bounds but not before turning in a big pick up and moving the sticks for a first down one of the things I love about this offense ree is they have tons of speed they like to try to get the ball going east west that time they generate a huge play going to the right side and the defense either not fast enough to fit or got knocked out of the fit yeah they got to do a better job containing that as this game goes on they got to funnel the football back to the middle of the field this has been a tight one third quarter all tied up is now second and 10 they'll throw again after the incompletion quickly complete they're able to get him stopped just shy of the first down marker the Dukes will hustle to the [Applause] line in the back field it's Hudson brought to the ground but not before getting enough for the first down really nice job there the quarterback reading coverage he knew exactly where to go with the football and at what exact time timing could not have been better they get the completion on third down setting up first and goal he'll be brought down at the five yd line and this defense is on it heels now on second and [Applause] goal he'll it to the middle looking for the Run gets it down to the four all right so now you're in this third down situation cl to line and it just feels David like they're going to have to throw the football in order to score a touchdown here I like maybe trying to get the quarterback outside on the perimeter and give him a run pass option I like that too get the quarterback on the move and here's the thing if I get close and I get stopped it's all thats they'll settle for the [Applause] field and this one splits the upright and with that taking the lead and let's check in with Kevin Conor in the studio Kevin all right guys a little update on what else is happening as we've come to the end of the quarter let's take a quick look at the national rankings to see how this playoff race is shaking up when you're dealing with a deficit like this it's all about somebody stepping up to make a play and you might as well start here in the fourth quarter to on [Applause] theg and they grab theage taking the lead here in the four and this offense really showing their physicality running the football when it matters in the fourth in crunch time to take the lead in this football G he'll try to tack on one more and the extra point is good and every Point counts it's first part was the most important part you got to put the drive together first to get down there now when we get down there focus on execution and getting six points and he's knocked down immediately but not before he moves the chains well they pick up the first against Zone coverage I think a big part of this for young quarterbacks out there is if you're going to be throwing into Zone coverage you got to throw can't down because the entire defense has their eyes on you so you can't Telegraph where the ball's going you've got to hold it to the very last possible second try free andow hold change up here they're putting a big drive together play after got some room headed to the line gets it all the way down to the Y he f for that by the defense trying to make everyone the call oh my goodness dog they just so the opp quarter lead DB's lock up tight on the receivers touchdown James Madison they've got the lead here in the four that's F another rushing touchdown that's now two on the game this they could come this one running the being the moreal team and they look like it right now so we theing up to cover the kick after that dri let's go it's on our offense field position can he help him with on the return he was looking for some running not much to be found as he stopped at the [Music] 18 all right now they to that score there's a lot of pressure too on this offense to have to execute at a high level they've got to score points D but they can't go too fast defense right now is tied and I think that's the difficulty being a play call like I have to balance all of those things my defense is a little bit tired I can't put on the field but I got to be aggressive because this is a back and forth type game so a lot to process and think aboutt we challenging that here is this coach is challenging the call he wants to give the replay Booth the chance to have another look my boy had oh damn B another timeout no timeout now so he took a chance by using a Timeout on the challenge and it comes back to B him we'll see if he needs that timeout later after the quarterback and receiver failed to hook up they'll try it again on second down on the move just masterful work that Seline and getting the to down for the catch good was a long throw you got to throw that thing deep and you can't miss inside you miss inside the quarterback can make a play on it you got to throw that thing towards the sideline use the sideline as your friend receivers telling the quarterback what they see coming after it and they couldn't hold off the heat and he goes down with the sack the defense coming up big there the sack is great but the secondary deserves some credit too no doubt when you can cover like that in the secondary drop back in your Zone and only Rush a few and you feel comfortable getting home and they're going to get to the quarterback that is a great feeling and that's fun to be a defensive coordinator calling the play incomplete thanks to the great defensive pressure there that sort of threw them out of rhythm oh so can the defense get one more stop one more time and hold on to this lead [Applause] on Third and long you'll have to turn it loose deep and the incomplete pass will bring up fourth down well the defense finally showing some life there it's been tough sweing too cuz this offense has been lighting them up through the air but a nice individual effort that timeing by a possession they need to keep the ball they'll try to convert on fourth down give me something bro it's incomplete and they desperately needed to keep that drive going and they couldn't make the connection one possession late first order of business just take care of the football so they call this situation four-minute offense where you're trying to run the football and throw high percentage passes to maintain possession and bed the clock this is a very difficult point of the game to execute at a high level though yeah and listen what you understand as an offense is if I get one or two first downs this ball game is over and that's your not scoring take care of the football get a few firsts walk out with the def put [Music] be man I want look this
