last three spots. With the Las Vegas Raiders today, Davante Adams year three in Vegas, he he did not have as much success as he would have liked last season, but this year has his former Packers assistant coach back Luke Getsy is now the offensive coordinator in Vegas at Adams. Spoke with our Jonathan Jones. Jonathan Jones, CBS sports alongside three time first team all pro wide receiver Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams. Thanks for joining us. Of course I'll be here. You know a note three time and then you know last season not able to get that mark. Does that motivate you this year to come out and retain or regain that title of yours. Yeah I mean for sure I'm not. When I sit out at the beginning of the year, you know, when I set these goals to be an All-Pro, Pro Bowler, whatever it is, have a certain amount of yards. It's just to uphold my, you know, my end of the bargain, which, you know, if obviously if I'm an all pro, then, you know, there's only two of those that, you know, they're first team. So that means that I, you know, I was I was performing and doing my job to help the team win. So that's all I really got on my mind at the end of the day, I'm doing everything that I can to help us win. What are some of your goals you have, like specific goals beyond that? Yeah, I got, I got I got a couple goals, but most of the things that are number based are not, you know, it's more internal. Some things that I kind of keep for myself just to you know, because you start publicizing some of this stuff, then, you know, it usually only hurts you. So, you know, I typically think about something I want to do, try to go out there and achieve it and hopefully, you know, surpass whatever that is. But at the end of the day, it's just going out there making my film look a certain way. And once my film looks a certain way and I'm being efficient with the with the amount of opportunities I'm giving, then that's all I that's all that really matters. At the end, there was a lot of conversation within the past month about you. Maybe not being a Raider much longer, how it seemed like it was an annoying amount of conversation about it. Kind of like reading between the lines and statements and whatnot. Is that an accurate way to put it correct? It was extremely annoying. Still is. I mean, it's definitely not not over as far as how people continue to speak on it. But, you know, the off season is boring, so they need things to talk about. And unfortunately, you know, with the dramas that we have, talking about one seven gets some clicks. So, you know, they take advantage of that to, to kind of, you know, get people's attention. But at the end of the day, you know, I'm not the one that's feeding any of that stuff. And my teammates know that my family knows that. And you know, I'm just focused on being the best player I can be to come out here and help this team have a chance at, you know, holding up that trophy at the end of the year. Well, speaking of ball, you guys have a quarterback competition out here between Gardner Minshew and Aidan O'Connell. What have you seen from each of the men. Well they both come out here and you know had a had a good start to camp and you know both guys are definitely putting their their, you know, their best foot forward. And it's a it's a it's a hell of a competition. I think they're more battling with with one another or with themselves versus one another. And you can see him continue to get better and grow at, you know, all the things that they're struggling with or, you know, continuing to improve on things that they've done well. So you know, it's still it's still kind of up for grabs right now as far as you know, what I see, I don't I don't know if anyone's completely run off with it, but, you know, they're both doing the best job they can to come out here and make plays and make this offense as efficient as possible. Defense is a pretty good defense. I think they showed that at the end of last season. Right. And clearly they picked up where they left off, the defensive backfield seems to be talking a lot. Do they talk a little too much? No. I mean you got to you got you got to talk your talk man. As long as you walk it, you can you can talk as much as you want. And it's I wouldn't say that they're doing a lot of talking in a negative way. It's more communicating and, you know, displaying confidence what I see. So as long as they keep coming out here making plays on us, they can they can do that. You know, you you fight for the right to party. So they're doing that. Do you ever consider legacy like you know, where you rank, you know, and receiving touchdowns and what you need. Like how much do you consider your legacy. Well I think naturally the more you do and the longer you're in it, you know, that kind of becomes more of a real thought in your head. And for me, you know, obviously having played for some time and having a decent amount of experience and, you know, the accolades and all those things, it creeps into your mind more and more as you, you know, put a resume together, obviously. So, you know, I think about it, but at the end of the day, it's the biggest thing that I'm missing and the hardest thing to end up with at the end of this thing is the Super Bowl. So in my mind, that's really all that I'm truly worried about. And, you know, I'm going to continue to push to try to get that because without that, I'm going to definitely feel incomplete, you know, the all pros have done that. You know, made several Pro Bowls and all these things and those mean a little bit less because I've already established that that's a part of, you know, my, you know, who I am as a player and my standards. So the real tough thing to do is to come together as a full team and put, put, put together that effort and, you know, be a champion when it's all said and done. So still working at that. I appreciate your time. Devonte. Thanks so much. Absolutely. Thank you. All right Jonathan Jones with Devonte Adams who had more receptions last season than his first year in Vegas. Receiving yards similar. But the touchdowns way down almost cut
