what's good football fans welcome back to the channel if you're new to this channel be sure to subscribe and also hit the like button down below all right so in this video we will be breaking down one of the newcomers to the SEC and that is the Sooners from Oklahoma so um Oklahoma along with Texas they're uh they have now left the Big 12 to go join the SEC and so Oklahoma uh last year they did go 10 and three uh which was a big improvement from the prev previous year for Brent venal so this is his third third year uh with the Sooners and so uh they I think it's going to be interesting to see how you know how things turn out for the Sooners this year so uh they did lose their quarterback uh Dylan Gabriel who transferred in from uh Central Florida he's now gone he's gone to Washington or I'm sorry to Oregon and so they do bring back Jackson Arnold who is a very highly talented quarterback and so uh we'll see how things turn out um you know a lot of hype surrounding this guy and so uh they also have Gavin sh saluk returning uh some other notable pieces as well returning on this team is Nick Anderson and Jalil faroo and so we'll see how things turn out um you know Brent venol he is a defensive-minded coach and you know their defense was sixth in the in the Big 12 last year and so that's not terrible but their secondary uh they struggle quite a bit they was almost dead last in the Big 12 last year so um we'll see how things turn out for Oklahoma so here's a look at the sooner schedule for the 2024 season so they open up on a Friday night at home versus Temple and they I think they get a win there they shouldn't have any problems and uh this next game against Houston I think that's going to be a win as well so Houston you know they have a new head coach with uh Willie Fritz and they're kind of going through a transition period so I don't think they'll have any problems there and I think the same thing can be said for Tain and speaking of Willie Fritz that's the team that um that he used to coach at before going to Houston so uh So Tan they're going through a bit of a transition of their own and so I don't think that the Sooners will have any problems uh with them so uh now you come to the SEC portion of your schedule and your first DC conference game is against Tennessee and I think I can see this being a high-scoring game you know Tennessee under Josh hpel they're always very good offensively and you know I think it's going to come down to who has the ball last and you know what this game is at home and so I do think that Oklahoma will beat Tennessee in this G in this matchup here so then they go on the road to Auburn I think that's going to be a win as well uh Auburn I'm not very high on them this year they're still trying to get things figured out so you're 5-0 uh to start off the season that's not too bad and and one big Advantage is having your first four games at home so that's uh pretty incredible all right so after the byee you head to Dallas to take on uh Texas in the Red River rivalry uh one of the biggest rivalries in all of college football and so you know the despite all of the success that Texas had last year uh one blemish was that they lost to their biggest rival and so this is the first edition of this rivalry game that features two SEC teams and Texas is going to be out for revenge and I expect them to compete uh in the SEC this year and so you know what I have this as a loss for Oklahoma so things uh get get a little tough here uh the next game at home against South Carolina uh I don't think is going to be a problem I'm not very high on the Gamecocks this year but then you go on the road to Old Miss and I expect Old Miss to be very good this year in fact I had them if you watch my uh prediction video for them I actually have them going 11 and one this is going to be a highly contested matchup and this could possibly be you know possible playoff teams you know you never know what can happen but I actually have uh Old Miss winning this game over the Sooners then against Maine no problems there uh against the black bears and then they go back on the road again uh to Missouri and Missouri uh They're bringing back a lot of those players from last year we and they were very good last year and I expect them to contend this year and so with that I have Oklahoma going uh on the road and losing to Missouri in this one a battle of former Big 12 foes remember Missouri used to be in the Big 12 then after the second bye uh they have two more games uh both of which are not going to be easy at home against Alabama and then on the road against LSU I do think that Oklahoma will beat Alabama so um Bama I think is going to take a step back uh they're they're a team that's going to be going through some Growing Pains this year uh with a new head coach and all and I think Oklahoma is going to be looking to make a statement and so with that I have that as a win for the Sooners but going on the road to LSU and I expect LSU to take a step back this year but you know at by this point in the season maybe uh they start to improve we'll have to see what happens but Death Valley is not a is not an easy place to play and so I do have this as a loss for Oklahoma and with that I have the Sooners going 8-4 with a 4-4 Conference record all right y'all so that is my picks and predictions for Oklahoma uh how do you think the Sooners are going to do in their first year in the SC CC leave your comments Down Below guys thank you all so much for watching and I will see you next time
