it's been an extremely long day here and uh I want to thank first of all the Breeders and the exhibitors of these cattle for coming out here and those you ringside just taking in the show you truly don't understand the countless hours to go into uh this effort that we call exhibiting uh cattle out here the countless hours at home uh not only not counting the the hours that it takes and uh to make these mating decisions but uh it's been exceptional calf show I think we've had extreme value and each individual division it was close uh for us as judges uh as we debated and discussed but uh excuse me but uh I also want to thank the Maryland state fair for having us uh your hospitality has been Second To None a first class organization a first class show and uh uh one of the pre Premier some success actually right here at Maryland State Fairgrounds we come out for Atlantic Nationals in 2016 and had champion bull and we were fortunate enough to have a supreme champion in South Dakota State Fair last year um and so we don't take this lightly uh the bull showing side of it um it takes a lot of work it takes a lot of lot of days there's a lot of Heartache goes into it um but I guess I just like to thank the Maryland State Fairgrounds or state fair for inviting me out um to do some shows today uh thoroughly enjoyed myself the ring staff the people lining up um it's a thankless job with my job we get to put on Junior Nationals and do some stuff like that and trust me it's a thankless job um so all these volunteers around here make sure you tell them thank you cuz that goes a long ways with them guys it'll bring bring them back next year um but with that being said um congratulation my hats off to all the exhibitors we'll go ahead and get you a supreme champion bull ladies assistants I can't remember all their names so I'm getting old but anyway we appreciate all the help and the work that you do and do a fine job and our ring Master Supreme for many years Mr Robert Co I know that uh Robert has been here for many years and has done an excellent job many of you probably don't know but when the Baltimore City Police Department had a mounted unit down there that's the gentleman that was in charge of them horses in the Stalls so Robert we appreciate everything that you do and to all the rest of the employees here on behalf of the exhibitors we appreciate all that you do for us to those of you around the ringside who may be interested in owning or exhibiting or raising some beef cattle and are not familiar with the type and the picture of what we're all looking for in the livestock breed just kind of take a photo or a picture in your mind of these animals of the various breeds you'll see that they are very uniform and they're tight from top to bottom and each separate breed has its own characteristics but the general outlines the thickness the muscle where you get them good juicy ribey and New York strip steaks and tomahawks for those of you who are much younger than I am and can't eat that much these are the animals that produce The Offspring that you eat every day if you eat meat red meat hamburgers steaks roast stew you name it you can almost make it with beef and when I say beef I'm talking about natural beef not fake beef and just in case there any naysayers in this audience I will guarantee you that each and every animal that you see in this building is probably as docel and accepts the owner's direction of anything you can see these animals are babied from the time they're born until there's time for Market [Music] you know this is this is a it it's difficult enough in individual classes where you have animals that are so competitively placed and here we're picking the cream of the crop of not one show but the entire beef cattle show here at the fair so as you look at these animals you are looking at the very best all right those of you ringside here taking in your Supreme Drive give all your exhibitors and breeders a tremendous Round of Applause for an awesome set of cattle here guys and uh uh it's been a pleasure uh for for us to go through these cattle and work for you guys uh this morning and up through this afternoon uh these things uh it's been fun for us it took a little bit of debate and discussion on our part and I wouldn't want it any other way because that means uh that means what you brought to us today are exceptionally good in terms of the quality uh that we've got out here in the ring and again it took I don't know if there's one necessarily out here that you have to use uh I don't think there's one out here that's necessarily bulletproof and we'd like to to uh maybe amend uh some of the traits on each one of these but nonetheless they are exceptional good cattle it's been an awesome
