hi I'm Denise Austin and one of the best things to do while watching television instead of lounging on the couch get down on the floor and do a back extension it's one of the best ways to strengthen your spine and keep your back healthy here's how to do it get down on your hands and knees either on a mat or carpet now strengthen your spine by stretching that leg behind you pull up and in your abs and make sure your shoulders are in line with your your wrist while you're balancing stretch the opposite arm notice it's my right arm with my left leg and think about keeping your back straight elongate the spine and then switch your challenge is to hold this for 10 seconds that's it tighten up those abs hold it up there squeeze through the butttock lengthen through the spine making yourself taller and release it's a great exercise to do while watching television so turn idle time into toning time and keep your back healthy see how long you can hold it during your next TV commercial if you would like to join me for more exercise videos go ahead and subscribe right here
