Over in Iowa City. The quarterback position is a big question for a lot of the fan base. Cade mcnamara was brought in from Michigan in late 2022 but is recovering from an AC L injury from last season. The grad senior hasn't played a lot of football due to injury the last two years and struggled in Iowa's open scrimmage behind him is Northwestern transfer. Brendan Sullivan who played a lot as a junior in Evanston mcnamara remains Kirk Fence's guy, you know, I wasn't sure what to expect totally, but I think I've commented about, you know, Cade's lack of playing time behind a, a full offense, you know, playing with 11 guys on the field. And then you think about Brandon coming in here starting new in June. You know, it's a lot to learn and I guess, uh, so there's been some back and forth, some ups and downs those types of things, but both, both guys this week have just looked more comfortable and they've done a lot of good things. Fence added that he normally wouldn't play two quarterbacks but will consider it doing anything to win. And of course, Fence won't be at Iowa's season opener against Illinois State due to self imposed suspension for a recruiting violation. The Hawkeyes start their season next week at 11.
