I love 7-Eleven August 19th, 2024 Osaka, Japan Today, we are taking a ferry from Osaka to Fukuoka 12 hours 30 mins travel through Seto Inland Sea from Nanko Osaka to Shin-Moji Fukuoka We use Ferry Kyoto operated by Meimon Taiyo Ferry It's a 15,025 gross tonnage ferry with 195 m/639.7 ft length You can access to the Meimon Taiyo ferry terminal in about 30 mins from central Osaka only by train Our ferry departs at 7:50PM but boarding starts 1 hour early Ferry Kyoto debuted in 2021 so it's a new one But why Kyoto? The route has nothing to do with Kyoto... The entrance lobby welcomes us in a grand atmosphere It's like a cruise ship but actually ferry For this travel, we use the cheapest accomodation, Tourist I booked with 2 persons and the fare was 16,020JPY/112.1USD (Oh, I entered the wrong compartment haha) (Ours is G03) So, the fare is 8,000JPY/56.0USD per 1 person, quite cheap Though in a shared space, each bed is set up in a capsule New and clean You can store your luggage by the bed But be careful of your small belongings Most importantly, life jackets Blanket Pillow Drink holder There is one power outlet Air fan 2 hangers Shelf You can close a curtain, of course Pretty nice The each compartment offers one window Let's go check the restroom Fairly neat and tidy You can use a hair dryer in the restroom Toilets are immaculate Equipped with Washlet (bidet toilet) Thanks God, there is seat cleaner There are lockers Even, mobile phone charging stations Ferry Kyoto but between Osaka and Fukuoka 7:45PM Departing on time The ferry on the other side is Ferry Orange between Osaka and Ehime It's a larger ship and I'd like to travel on it sometime See you soon Osaka I'm coming back to Osaka again on the same ferry but a different accomodation Stay tuned for it! August 19th, 2024 Looks like we can get a commemorative stamp of Ferry Kyoto Perfectly done It's time for dinner! 1,800JPY/12.6USD per one adult Using an automatic plastic glove donning machine Wow It's a buffet style! There is a wide variety of dishes and some of them are local cuisines of Osaka or Fukuoka Curry Rice Bread All-you-can-drink soft drinks Beer dispenser This costs money though (500JPY/3.5USD) Fully self-serve beer dispenser We Japanese like beer foam very much This is so fun haha Oops, I took too much The quality felt standard but the buffet was very satisfying overall No beer, no life SUPER However, I didn't like rice very much, the texture was terrible For dessert, there are many round things haha You can also enjoy self-serve soft-serve The round things were all yummy except the orange one 9:00PM We are now around Akashi City, Hyogo Prefecture There was just an announcement that the ferry passes under Akashi Kaikyo Bridge The 2nd longest bridge in the world with 3,911 m/12831.3 ft length (The longest one is 1915 Çanakkale Köprüsü in Turkey) The bright lights on the bridge are very beautiful So spectacular There are 3 bridges that the ferry passes under on the route but this one is the largest It's time to take a bath There is a Sento on board! (public bath) You can know how crowded the bath is now 13 out of 22 are now in However, you need bring your own towel or buy one on the ferry After a bath, I enjoy arcade This is how I usually spend time on a Japanese ferry There are prize games and slot games Now, let me show how I'm good at claw games This is just a warm-up hahahaha Something is going wrong today You can do it!!!! There is a mini convenience store on board Not only snacks, ice creams, drinks, and alcohols but also Osaka or Fukuoka's souvenirs, the ferry's merch instant noodles and daily use items You can live on this ferry! At Vending Machine Corner, meet your favorite vending machine Even ice creams and alcohols are sold in vending machines Cup Noodle vending machine sounds so fun You can freely drink water and tea here Microwaves are free to use It's around time to go to bed (12:10AM) (ah something reeks in here...) It's pretty much similar to a capsule hotel but sways But no complaint, it's comfortable enough Good morning, The Land of The Rising Sun (5:30AM) I woke up early to see the rising sun but it was covered with clouds We are now around Yamaguchi Prefecture BTW, Japan is a unique country that has as many as 14,125 islands I get curious what people's livings are there in each island If I had more time, I'd like to hop on as many islands as possible I don't give up August 20th, 2024 There was a long line for a breakfast buffet There are not much time remaining before arrival so I find breakfast dishes are more healthy We luckily got a window table I took less for breakfast I took a lot of Japanese healthy foods We eat raw eggs No worries, Japanese raw eggs are safe to eat Ume boshi(pickled plum) and Natto(fermented soybeans) on rice Both are super healthy foods that Japanese people eat every morning (not everyone) Guess which country's flag in 10 secs 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 The answer is Bahrain مرحبا بالجميع في البحرين 8:05AM, we are approaching Shin-moji Port Welcome to Shin-moji, Kita-kyushu, Fukuoka We have arrived on time at 8:30AM Cute trucks are waving hands at us We had very good and relaxing times on Ferry Kyoto Thank you Ferry Kyoto but I'm coming back in 3 days! There is a shuttle bus between Shin-moji Port and Moji Station and Kokura Station Now heading to Kokura Station to ride Shinkansen We take multiple trains and move to Nagasaki Prefecture I heard trains in Kyushu are famous for being unique I hear there are many unique chartered trains running in Kyushu I'm thinking of taking more Kyushu trains in near future In about 2 hours and a half, we arrived in Nagasaki Nagasaki is the western most prefecture on Japan's main land with 1.294 million people Nagasaki has a peculiar traffic culture with streetcars, buses, and cars running along There are a lot of vintage streetcars running in the city Welcome to Shinchi China Town Nagasaki is one of the cities that has China Town in Japan together with Yokohama and Kobe Ryuushourou Not only authentic Chinese meals, but you can eat Nagasaki's local dishes We ordered Sara Udon and Chanpon, both are top two Nagasaki cuisines We just enjoyed city walking Dejima Off-shore island originally built for Portuguese residents in the 17th century During the more than 200 years that Japan was isolated from the outside world, Dejima was its only gateway to the Western world Houses in Dejima look in old Japanese style but the inside is different The interior was tailored to Portuguese Oh but some parts feel Japanese The way Japanese and Portuguese are mixed is very beautiful Checking in a hotel, Bellside View Dejima Unmanned check in and out The hotel is clean and new but accomodation fee for 2 adults was only 6,100JPY/42.7USD!
