rep Dean Phillips the only Democrat who ran against President Biden in the 2020 for Democratic primary said he would be open to working in either a Democratic or republican Administration speaking to Fox News digital he expressed a strong desire to help this country in some way Phillips a congressman from Minnesota spoke during the Democratic National Convention in Chicago although he launched a challenging campaign against Biden he stopped his campaign in March Phillips explained that he didn't initially want to run but felt it was necessary after observing how political figures behaved he mentioned how Republicans criticized Donald Trump in private but supported him publicly and he saw Democrats doing the same with Biden whom Phillips believed was in Decline and likely to lose the election Philip stated that he didn't want to run but felt compelled because of how the political culture fvs those who stay silent rather than those who show courage he decided to run for president in Just 2 weeks not to win but to send a message comparing himself to Paul Rivier rather than George Washington he acknowledged that Biden's decision to step aside was significant and hinted that the rest would be history when asked if he would run for president again Philip said his main goal was to help the country in any way possible he emphasized that his campaign was more about encouraging people to take action when they see something wrong rather than pursuing the presidency Philips also mentioned that if an opportunity to serve the country in either a Democratic or republican Administration arose he would accept it he stressed that it's important for everyone to step up when called upon Phillips highlighted the importance of policies saying that Americans remember how policies make them feel whether excited safe or optimistic he acknowledged that there is a border crisis that many people are living paycheck to paycheck and that the Health Care system is flawed he emphasized that these issues need to be addressed regardless of political party lastly Phillips urged politicians to stop fighting amongs elves arguing that time spent on infighting is time lost on developing better ideas he called on his colleagues in Congress and all Americans to focus on solving problems rather than tearing each other down
