Danel mccarten here with Anthony bupy at Del Barton your Alma moer with almost 400 kids wearing your jersey or your number on their back what does it feel like for you uh it's crazy but it's it's it's amazing it's it's a lot of fun so far and to be able to meet everybody um and to be back at the bar and like you said so it's been a blast why was it important for you to do it here well I think it worked out really nicely but um I trusted everyone I don't think there's a better place to do it your parents are here your dog Jedi is also here what like to have the whole family out to support you today yeah they wouldn't miss it I think they probably would have just gotten tickets even if they weren't invited but um no it's awesome to have the a lot of the community here um it was really cool a lot of kids wearing either delart or rival high school or Diamond jacks or any of the teams I played on Growing Up So um it's cool to see the whole Community growing up here in this community going to school here how has that prepared you for your career with the New York Yankees um no I think that you do you everything you do with the support system that you have and luckily growing up and whether it was at home or at a community like Delbarton um I definely felt so much support so definitely wouldn't be able to do it without that what's the New Jersey food you miss most on the road uh breakfast sandwich I thought you were going to say bagel oh yeah uh if we could talk some Yankee stuff here yeah after the All-Star Game speaking of food how much chicken farm did you eat on that break cuz you've been on a tear no no no chicken farm over the r none yeah wow is there something else that you substituted hitting in the cage you know you told mereda that you feel more in control of your body I was hoping you go a little bit more in depth of what mechanically you kind of adjusted over those days off um yeah I mean weirdly it's just super simple just getting back to some of the stuff I was working on in the offseason and when you have a little time to reflect and take a step back and then like I said just hit for a couple days um I felt like couple things click and then just getting back to the basics and also too there's also an adjustment in in the batting order here what is the mentality or the approach hitting lead off versus where you are now yeah I don't think necessarily the the approach changes at all um we have really good hitters up and down the lineup and you trust whoever's in front or behind you so um you just try to give your best and have a good at at Captain judge I mean we've seen his leadership abilities you know with our own eyes but could you take us behind closed doors and what is he how is leadership skills with you guys and among you guys when people aren't watching yeah I mean I think it's it's amazing I think everyone benefits from it and I think a lot of guys try to learn from it but um I don't know he just we always joke like he always knows what to say in every situation whether it's to you the media or when we're just all hanging out or we're just addressing the team anything so it's kind of unbelievable in some ways how you just the best that everything also also unbelievable pitchers pitching around him what do you make of that I mean I don't know if it's really surprising but um yeah it's it's crazy Anthony congrats on a successful Camp thank you thank you thank you
