Here she is Misty Knoll is walking down the hallway charged with theft and tax evasion just before 4 p.m. Today, she walked from the attorney conference room right into custody and we were there. Hello, everybody. Thanks for joining us again. I'm Doug Profit with her charges. Her husband, the former sheriff Jamie Knowles is also facing 10 new charges. Travis Brees and photojournalist, Elijah mckenzie are at the courthouse right now and Travis Misty is expected to spend the next few days in jail. How many Doug Indiana State police say that she will be held without bond at the Scott County jail until her initial court appearance on Monday afternoon. A at that time, she will appear alongside her husband Jamie Noll, like you said, they are co defendants in these 10 new charges, five for tax evasion and five for theft Misty and Jamie both arrived here to the Clark County uh court office at 9:45 a.m. They wanted to make it clear that she was turning herself in. We did see Misty as she was walking from the attorney conference room into sheriff's custody and we tried to ask her how deeply she is connected to this ongoing investigation. Misty, do you have anything to say about what you knew about this throughout the last six years? Did you benefit from what your husband may have done as much as he did? Misty is being represented by Bart mckone. He said she will plead not guilty and wouldn't give any other comment until the initial appearance in the affidavit that was just made public. Misty is accused of filing a false tax return or making a false statement on her taxes every year from 2018 to 2022. The state also detailed five instances where she knowingly or intentionally took unauthorized control of Utica Township Volunteer Firefighters Association property. As I mentioned, Misty will be held without bond throughout the weekend. State police took her to the Scott County jail as they did when JV Noll was arrested to avoid any appearance of any bias because of his long ties to everybody in the Clark County judicial system. They are both scheduled to have pretrial hearings on Monday in Jeffersonville, Travis Bree whas 11 on your side.
