all right Larry Krueger here from the pig and a pickle KRW show with a little 49er video Who's A Difference Maker who's a finisher on the ners um new additions wise I think Isaac yadam um is probably that guy we'll talk a little bit about Isaac coming up next but first we're brought to you by pig and a pickle the best barbecue in all of Northern California check them out they're in erville and C of Madera they're open seven days a week in both spots from 11:00 a.m. till 8:00 P.M or until they run out pig and a pickle the best barbecue in all of Northern California this video also brought to you by Underdog fantasy check the link in the description use the promo code Krug kru EEG and they'll match you up to your first $100 well the 49ers in the off season uh went out in the free agent market and signed Isaac yadam and it's actually pronounced yah itam y item I believe um I've heard people say yadam but it says it's pronounced item um nevertheless this guy had a tremendous tremendous year last year um really an under the radar pickup one of the most under the radar free agent signings by any team in the offseason was the ners signing Isaac away from the Saints he was eighth in the NFL last year with 14 pbus uh he broke up 14 passes eighth most in the NFL but he only made eight starts so only started half the year uh which really show makes his production all the more impressive but let's talk a little bit about the former Boston College Corner Isaac yam um he's from Worster Mass Worster Worster 61 190 pound um defensive back who played at Boston College and stayed home 32 and a quarter inch arms eight and S8 inch hands um third round pick 35th overall 35th pick in the third round of the 2018 by the Broncos out of Boston College he ran 452 coming out in the draft 159 10 yard split 10 10 foot broad jump uh only eight reps of 225 but uh he was an Allstate high school player in his career um won a State title at Worster he played in all 13 games mostly on special teams as a freshman he had 13 tackles and one pass breakup yidam then got a chance to start seven of nine games uh sophomore had 18 tackles one pick five pbus missed three games because of injury led the BC with 10 pass breakups and 2016 starting eight of 13 games had 26 tackles two for loss um and then 2017 he started all 13 games at BC made 53 tackles intercepted a couple passes broke up seven more passes and um he's long he's lean he's you know he's got he's got good strength he can disrupt your route at the line of scrimmage he can knock you off your pins he will challenge receivers at the line of scrimmage uh he's aggressive and um he's a very competitive player at the catch Point um he's instinctive he's aware he can play zone he can play press man um he's got value on special teams so he can you know as a depth piece a lot of times you know you're in in the NFL you might be five or six corners on a team well Corner one two and three may not play special teams but Corner three four and five and six absolutely do or four five and six absolutely do so this guy um is a better Zone player than a man coverage player but he's really worked on his man coverage and he's much better player than he was coming out of Boston College he's got long arms he's pretty tough plays pretty strong he can jam you at the line of scrimmage he can body you down the field um he's got the ability to smother receivers in the release um he'll sit on the receiver's hip and um and just stay there he's got good ability to mirror receivers up and down the field good awareness from off coverage which is shows good coaching um in zone he can recognize routes and um you know he'll he'll definitely respond when there's a receiver in his area uh he's got great length he's got great ball skills he'll make plays on those 5050 balls that quarterbacks put in the air he loves to hit he will absolutely love to smoke a receiver and dislodge the ball he's good at separating receivers from the football um he's a good tackler he can tackle running backs in the open field uh he's good on special teams on kickoff coverage he's good on punt team coverage as a Gunner he had 10 coverage tackles his final year at Boston College 20 in his career so um you know he's he's he he's he's definitely had to work on his technique a little bit coming out of Boston College his back pedal was a little bit tall uh he was a little bit tight in coverage he's far more fluid than he was when he came into the league um but you know he's he's a guy who um you know he he's he's he's gotten better in his coverage ability from the player that he was he was a big physical Prospect coming out of Boston College but he didn't have the smooth ability to mirror receivers up down the field um he didn't have that those smooth feet that you need to play this position um he didn't always recognize routes you know there was delays when he would plant his foot and drive uh his timing was a little bit inconsistent coming out of Boston College um you know he's gotten hung up by big blocking wide receivers in the Run game you know coming out of college but now he's he's so he's his play is much more decisive much more knowledgeable he plays fast because in physical because he knows what he's doing now and I just think that this is a player that is absolutely coming into his own um you're gonna see him compete for that starting uh nickel spot and if not if he doesn't get that spot he'll come off the bench but um Isaac yadam is a is a BigTime differenc making player uh he's big he's physical um he gives the 49ers a really good depth piece at corner and you know this is this is a year this a big year for the ners last year they became the seventh team to lose the Super Bowl after having a 10-point lead they are eager to go back to the Super Bowl this year in New Orleans and finish the deal I mean it's been a fiveyear span the Niners have lost two uh conference title games and two Super Bowls um and John Lynch said it after the Super Bowl this year we need finishers and I think yam can be a finisher I think a guy that can really help their secondary I think he can help them on special teams I think he's incredibly physical um and I think he's the kind of guy that if you add him to your secondary to money and Lenor and some of the other young players he could give you an incredibly physical presence that's good against the run and the pass so I really like this player um the fact that he was eighth in the NFL with 14 pbus in half a season um really shows how active he was you know teams took took chances and picked on him at times but he responded um and you know you're he's playing opposite Marshon Latimore who's a star and so you knew he was going to get a lot of the attention from opposing quarterbacks and did um and they attacked him but he stood up and and played well and now the Niners are getting him coming off of his career year um and I think he's a differenc maker I really do I think he's the kind of guy that if the 49ers you know the one thing with the 49ers is um you know they got leads a lot last year and you know they would have a hard time shutting the door because they just didn't quite have enough rush and didn't have tight enough coverage on the back end to really put teams away when they got up on them and I think this year with Leonard Floyd and Nick Bosa and a rejuvenated hardgrave up front and then with the the defensive backfield Talent they've added including yidam um I think the 49ers are going to be in a much much better spot and I think they're going to put more pressure I think they're going to finish up front better I think they're going to finish on the back end better so um I love Leonard Floyd as a finisher but I also love this kid Isaac yadam as a finisher as well tell me what you think in the comments below thanks to pig and a pickle for being the title sponsor of the Krug show and thanks to uh sharp corner sports cards and collectibles for sponsoring this video thanks to all of you guys for supporting the Krug show on YouTube
