Emmanuele Marigliano goes for Italy in Lane 1. What a performance Italy are putting on in the pool at these Paralympic Games. Arnulfo Castorena has been around for years. He was the breaststroke champion in both Sydney and Athens. 2000 and 2004. He is 43 now. Diego Lopez, five time world champion and reigning world champion in this event goes in Lane 2. Had a poor performance by his incredibly high standards in the preliminaries. Josia Topf in Lane 6. Now of the Mexican trio the fastest in the preliminaries was Hernandez Hernand. 50 Back in Rio. Ahmed Kelly is quick. He's quick to start. This is his second event of two. He can really push. And Grant Patterson, real character who is often sporting a large beard. He shaved the beard, but the moustache is still there. Victorious in what was really a phenomenal battle in the pool between he and Ahmed Kelly. Ahmed Kelly has never won a Paralympic Games medal. He has been to two. A chance for him here potentially. A man who claimed silver at the World Championships in London two years ago. For Grant Patterson, the battle between Patterson and Kelly turned out to be an enthralling one. They swam in the same preliminary. >> They did. They were neck and neck the whole way especially coming into the freestyle. Patterson out faster in the backstroke, Kelly has the breaststroke they were stroke for stroke in that freestyle. Tonight I think that the Mexicans will come on quite a bit stronger. >> Expect Hernandez and die ya to go the way of pulling something special. -- Diaz. A story of legends and a story of newcomers. Kelly and Patterson the hopes for Australia here. Watch out for Lopez, he is quick. Swimmers in the pool to start. Three strokes to be swum. There is no butterfly in the SM4. This is the Men's 150m Individual Medley, SM3. Line-up: Getting way relatively quickly is Lopez. Is he trying to prove a little bit of a point here? Lopez a man who finished fifth in the 50 backstroke S5 in Rio. Setting a world record in the 50 Fly in 2019. Only come on in leaps and bounds since then. Gold medals TB World Championships. -- World Championships. Going stronger in Labour 3 is Hernandez who touches first. >> We knew the Mexicans would be good in in first leg. Turn into the breaststroke. I would expect the Australians to start to catch-up. Particularly Ahmed Kelly. What he does, you can see in this backstroke he does breaststroke kick on his back. He incorporates the breaststroke kick into each of the legs into this 150m Individual Medley. >> He has a chance to make it count. Topf falling away and so too is Castorena. Marigliano falling off the pace. Kostakis in eight trailing. Up front there is one man out in front. Hernandez not being held up or being stopped. Nobody seems to be able to go with him. Ahmed Kelly is making a push in second position. What a Wembley Stadium from Hernandez. >> Hernandez way out in frond for this breaststroke. It doesn't appear he is covering the ground that he needs to in order to make a move on the freestyle. Kelly does not have the freestyle to come home the way the other swimmers do. Here he come back into the freestyle. You see Hernandez at the turn using the one arm to really come back. >> Hernandez bear in mind was swimming as SM4 until recently now in the SM3 class. Kelly can make it count here. This is freestyle, most swimmers will use the front crawl as Hernandez is doing with his right arm. But, Ahmed Kelly uses butterfly to swim his freestyle leg. It might just stand him in good stead. It looks like he is clawing in desperation at the water Hernandez. He had must be hurting. Patterson, don't discount them. They will be the three medallist barring anything remarkable. Who will finish and in what order? He's holding on here, Hernandez. It's well outside world record time. Don't look at the time. Look at who will touch the wall first. We suspected it might come from Mexico. It is Hernandez, a gold medal, a Paralympic champion in Kelly and Patterson will bring success to the Australian camp again they rack up the medals. Australia had a dozen medals through three days. Two in the pool here. What a swim. All eyes were going to be on Lopez who finished fourth ultimately. 3. 15.84. Off the pace and 10 seconds behind Grant Patterson. But that is sensational. Nothing short of sensational from Hernandez. Kelly, so much stronger as well coming in, home in his final leg. Hernandez, you have a sense he was starting to claw at the water in desperation. It felt like desperation rather than urgency in the closing seconds.
