Rest in Piece John Cassady.

hello everyone Thanks for much for joining me here today so yesterday so today's the 10th um when I'm recording this this won't be posted till the 11th but on the 9th of September one of the greatest artists and huge influence on my own work John Cassidy has passed he was sick we don't know what he had his family didn't tell us but there he had some kind of um brain injury or some kind of um something healthwise and uh he has passed so I love his work I simply love his work um I bought this book book it's an oversized book and I've had it for years I look at it all the freaking time I have his art everywhere he uses this dry brush method and then he also uses some kind of charcoal pencil of some kind um to create shading instead of using um instead of using uh screen tones and the dude here you can see that dry brush really well right here um he's just one of my absolute favorites to to look at to I wish Marvel would do an art of John Cassidy equivalent the way Dynamite did that would be um man that would be great I would definitely by that sucker um gosh it's just a huge influence so sad um so sad that this Titan um this amazing artist is no longer with us oh man I was bummed to heck here's some more example of that uh dry brush that he's using here and then the charcoal I mean wow so oh he was so good um just a brilliant artist um very sad that we just won't see any more of his art coming through but if you get a chance to just Google image some of his um covers that he's done um gosh just just so good here and [Music] I you can tell I I just don't know so much what what really to say um condolences to his family um he was just such an aspiration to me like I said um his work um is so unique um the only other person that draws similar is Matt Wagner who's been around for ever and a day um gosh what an absolute Master he is um rest in peace John rest in peace look at um I have um covered his uh uh six issues of Captain America that he had done which I think is just spectacular and I covered um part of his Star Wars run unfortunately I didn't finish it it just didn't get a lot of hits um but I should go back and uh finish it just because damn it is Art deserves to be seen even if nobody was watching the videos um um but his art is so cool um he's so he doesn't have a huge body of work as far as insides are done planetary which also had started to cover but again um people just want Marvel um X-Men and Iron Man and Captain America and Thor so I kind of try to give people what they want so but if you get a chance get his planetary collection his I am Legion um the he did the first six issues of the new Star Wars books um he did the first six issue of Captain America I think it was volume four um some of his early work was Desperados and Union Jack from Marvel which looks nothing like this um and oh what else um he did of course astonishing X-Men he did 24 issues plus a giant size so total of 25 issues of um astonishing X-Men he did that with Jos Weeden who I know his Persona on grata and then he did four issues of The Uncanny Avengers so anyway um gosh um I just don't know what else to say but if you can find his stuff I just recommend it he's a beautiful artist um and the world a s place without him so I think I'll just end it here this is a a very nice little drawing so thanks for listening rest in peace John Cassidy goodbye
