thought I would show you how to uh calculate the snow load um from onar building code uh this is a very important question that I have come across many times um on building code um this has come in my college exam this has come in my structure classes and also my um BCI and exam so it's uh very simple the most of the time uh you need to know the snow load of certain location so the question um most likely would be what is the specific snow Lo of Kingston as you roof is 5.5 m wide okay let's get to it so if you go to part nine of uh Ontario building code uh from volume one uh go to the part number 9.4.2 point21 so read through these uh you will know what uh s is CB is and there's a formula for it um so this is the section you would have to go and uh I will explain how you can get the SS and S Sr from the SP sp1 uh climate and syst data here we have the building code comporium volume two uh this is where we're going to find the snow Lo it's on the page number 14 on the sp1 uh so for Kingston we have SS as 2.1 and Sr is4 okay so now we have the CB .55 because the roof is 5.5 m wide and uh we have the SR and SS so multiply the CD with SS and then add them up and your answer should be 1.55 so let me know in the comment if you got the answer or if you have any questions um that's it for today have a good day
