And we are kicking off this week that is coming off of a weekend that was very warm a week prior. That was very hot and I'm hoping that we are kind of landing the summer plane. Yeah. Well, was, it seems to be trending that way anyway? You just never know. But, yeah, for the next several days we'll start to see those temperatures coming down starting out kind of hot here early this week, staying dry. But all that will be changing as we head toward the holiday weekend, taking you on out to the UN T campus. Not feeling too bad out there right now. It's getting a little warm 90 degrees out there right now and you see the partly sunny skies and some clouds are beginning to, uh, puff up across the area here feeling like it's 92. So not too bad out there with that humidity, but that will change too a little bit later this week. Cedar Hill right now, 92 feels like it's 91 out there. So not too bad out there with that heat index at all. And the actual temperature gonna be pretty close to the same as we go through the day, but we're looking at those upper nineties for those forecast highs today. Mid nineties, I think in our southeastern counties. And if we see a straight shower thunderstorm, that's where it's gonna be. Well, south of, I mainly down into central Texas today and for tomorrow, but that will start to change too later in the week. Now, speaking of the temperatures though, they will stay on the hot side for us. Looking at those upper nineties today tomorrow Wednesday, right through Thursday. Then by Friday they start to come down a little bit, but look at that heat index, it begins to climb. Now for today, it's gonna be pretty close to the actual temperature, but then it gets up over 104, maybe 105 to 106 as we head into Wednesday and Thursday as that moisture begins to increase and that normal high by Friday drops to 93. So we're gonna be closer to that as we get into the holiday weekend. Now, as far as any rain is concerned again, it will be a straight shower thunderstorm. Well, down I 45 I think for today as you get down toward me and then as we head into tomorrow off into our eastern counties, maybe an isolated shower or thunderstorm. But coverage will be less than 20% I think today. And for tomorrow across the area and we'll start to bump those rain chances up especially Thursday, going into Friday when those rain chances really start to increase across the area. And you see that broad circulation moving on shore. Now, as you head down toward Houston and Galveston down to Corpus Christi, that's where the rain will be confined to, mainly down into central Texas over the next couple of days, as we just mentioned. But then a little bit later in the week, we'll start to see those rain chances going up. And uh thanks to a cold front working its way in that will help enhance our chances for those showers and thunderstorms later this week, heading into Saturday, you see the scattered showers and storms. If you're traveling Friday, going into Saturday, we will have some scattered showers around won't be raining the entire time. And right now, we're not anticipating severe weather either, but we will have some wet roads that you'll have to deal with. And that will be the case on Sunday. And then for those backyard barbecues heading into Monday, we'll have some scattered showers and thunderstorms around and actually a little bit better chance I think heading into Labor Day, Monday that we'll have the rain and thunderstorms around. So something to keep in mind and obviously, we'll be watching that over the next several days as we get into the weekend. Also watching the tropics, mainly in the Pacific right now, three storms that we've been watching and you see HOA moving away from the uh Hawaiian Islands right now, but we have Gilma and Hector all out there as well. So all those will be out over the Pacific. And as we slide over into the Atlantic Basin, things have been relatively quiet, but this could change in the next couple of weeks as well. Don't anticipate anything over the next 48 hours developing out there. But as we look at hurricane season, we're reaching peak over the next couple of weeks, September 10th, that's the peak of hurricane season. So we're still a couple of weeks away from that and we can see most of the activity does occur between the late August and right through the early part of October as well. So we still have a ways to go in hurricane season. So things might get a little more active here over the next couple of weeks and we'll obviously be watching that for you as well. But in the meantime, here's that 14 day forecast for us, you see those rain chances they stay on the slight side right through Thursday, probably about 20% may be bumping those up a little bit as we get into Thursday. But by Friday heading into Saturday and Sunday, we'll go with scattered showers and thunderstorms right now, a 30% coverage. But notice the temperatures they come down a little bit more for us and then we'll increase those rain chances a little bit for Labor Day there on Monday. And those daytime highs, upper eighties to around 90 degrees next Monday and Tuesday. Looking forward to that and those temperatures staying in the low nineties through the end of next week, we'll have more midday coming up after this.
