Intro the Eagles forgotten pass rusher showed out today as week two of training camp got underway in Philadelphia although despite the paths not going on until tomorrow the cornerback battle is starting to really take shape plus an update on a few key Eagles missing practice today and here why L Dickerson thinks this year is going to be very different for two defensive lineman oh and Jaylen Herz you guessed it he bowled out yet again today I'm Thomas M this is the Thomas M Jordan Davis’ Big Change show let's start with some big news heading into week two of eagles training camp starting with Jordan Davis how about this chopping his hair off and going with a new short hair look at practice today maybe a move to try and slim himself down just a little bit more you know work on that conditioning time will tell now in actual Eagle News the Padded Practice Update birds did not put the pads on today for what some reporters said would be their first padded practice and instead Nick serone confirmed at his press conference this morning they'll be hitting with the pads on tomorrow for Tuesday's practice Eagles Injury Latest unfortunately though not every Eagle will be throwing on the pads tomorrow as Jeff mlan reported yesterday that Right Guard Tyler Steam suffered a mild ankle sprain during Saturday's practice and will miss the next few days Nick serani confirmed that maai beckon will get the start today and most likely tomorrow as well as the Battle For That Right Guard spot especially when the pads come on is getting even more interesting now with Steen injured now the Eagles have still indicated that Tyler Steen is their favorite to go ahead and win the Right Guard job but don't count out Makai beckon yet the next couple of days pads on starting at Right Guard be very interested to see how that turns out in other less serious news saquin Barkley Mis practiced today due to a personal reason hopefully nothing serious there and Lane Johnson was held out of practice with a very minor toe injury now all reporters are saying this is nothing serious and he was out there today in terms of you know getting mental reps no helmet on just standing on the sideline watching the rest of his teammates practice but still keeping an eye on Lane Johnson probably out today we'll see if he plays tomorrow still Johnson vs Huff though how about this very rare leaked video of eagles 11on 11 reps featuring Lane Johnson Working on Bryce Huff on the right side of your screen of course in the padless variety but Huff speed neutralized pretty darn well here by Lane Johnson goes to show he's ready to rock as one of the best right tackles in the league when he gets back from the tow injury we also had another injury that happened during actual 11 on 11s that was rookie guard Trevor Keegan looked like an arm injury no real details on that we'll keep an eye on it for tomorrow now I mentioned on Friday's video if that show got 1300 likes and 1,000 comments the Offense opened the day with his usual press conference and honestly I watched the whole thing there wasn't much to take away from it like keep pray dealing Herz and talked about how Herz has been locked in and looking really good so far during training camp and we talked about that the past couple of days but Sani mentioned a ton of different players by name and kind of blanket statements not really trying to reveal who he likes who he doesn't like although there was one reporter who finally pressed serani enough to name a couple of standouts from week one and he mentioned a few names we haven't heard a lot of yet take a listen um I just I'll single out a Nolan Smith’s Big Day couple of the defensive ends where I've really seen that that toughness really show up um you know that physical toughness that Relentless effort you know Patrick Johnson no Nolan Smith jayx hunt I've really seen them you know hustle into the football just you know the Relentless effort really and the toughness really shows up with those three guys and and been excited you know there is a lot of Mi mixing and matching and we're trying to get an evaluation on everybody as guys learn how to play together uh but you know I I I would single those guys out as far as their you know their Relentless effort their toughness that they've been playing with now you might not believe this but the same day nick serani name dropped noan Smith In that clip I just showed being super Relentless during his am press conference noan Smith came alive today and dominated during 11 on 11s with backtack simulated sacks of Jaylen Herz now caveat remember Fred Johnson was in at right tackle for Lane Johnson due to his toe injury so he was the one who gave up those sacks but still let's go ahead and give credit where credit is due no one Smith's been quiet so far the first week of Camp big to hear his name called twice very early on today oh and after practice people have been saying noan Smith looks a little bit bigger well he confirmed reporters he's put on seven pounds of muscle and spent the entire offseason training in LA with Aaron Rogers while also learning Muay Thai I'll keep saying you can only judge offensive lineman and defensive lineman by their padded practice performances so grain of salt for Nolan Smith but again it's been very quiet on the Smith front the first couple of days really glad to hear he started to come alive today now Hurts Perfect Again in terms of other practice highlights Jaylen Herz stop if you've heard this he once again was absolutely fantastic going 10 of 13 with a touchdown pass and continued his interception free training camp streak that lone touchdown was a 45 yard bomb to Devonte Smith down the left s side line with avonte Maddox in tight Shipley Flashes coverage will Shipley also got some love with saquin missing practice he had a really nice 20 yard wheel route catch in front of a couple linebackers both gainwell and Shipley filled in nicely I'd say for Barkley by all reports Linebacker Battle speaking of linebackers Devon white started once again as linebacker one and looked pretty darn explosive according to Brandon Lee gon one place stood out in particular where he blew up a pass play to will Shipley in the flat now ncoe Dean did not start yet again today but he seemed pretty motivated during his post-practice presser and emphasized that everything really kind of begins with the pad goes on tomorrow yes yes I'm I'm I'm glad that we getting past tomorrow because I mean this t-shirt and uh this t-shirt and shorts is cute but you know we play football in pass and we we getting pass tomorrow so I feel like the intensity uh and I want and I told the linebacker group this we need to be the ones that set the to set the the the presidents basically uh with the violent um and the violence that that's going to come tomorrow when we first first day CB Position Battle pass sticking with the starting theme Kei Ringo started at cornerback for the fourth consecutive day but but it was Isaiah Rogers who had the Highlight pass breakup play in the end zone of a pass from Kenny picket to Joseph andata that got his teammates pretty fired up I said yesterday I think key Ringo is slowly starting to kind of climb away from Isaiah Rogers as your starting cornerback too nothing against Isaiah Rogers still have plenty of time but right now at least based on the depth chart KY Ringo has been that guy still though credit to Ringo for being asked about the whole cornerback battle and giving praise to all of his Corner teammates in a really good clip yeah um of course man shoot we're all teammates at the end of the day you know we all want to continue to help um help each other get better um I I feel like that's our main focus and just man just each other just be a to bring out the best of each other you know especially with competitive what do you think you bring to the table is different than those other guys um I feel like all of us have great um great capabilities um all of us are fast I'm big and and we all can move honestly so um I don't have too much how do you separate yourself like what do you feel like you have to do yeah man um just continue to have a great mindset every every single day I feel like Camp so long um it's a long process you know and I I just feel like the is able to continue to come out here and and just put your best fo for it every single day can definely help now noan Smith wasn't Carter and Davis Dominate the only Eagle defensive lineman to show out today as Jordan Davis and Jaylen Carter both had really solid days something Landon Dickerson noted has been pretty impressive so far both ug teammates they might be having a big year yeah I think they're doing well I think our whole defense in general is doing well I think Fango is doing a great job you know um calling plays against our offense and you they're always giving us a good look I think you know Jordan and Jaylen are kind of embrace in that role and you know obviously losing Fletch and that kind of Veteran leadership and then hard grave earlier but um yeah I think honestly they they've stepped up tremendously you know they're they're working hard at practice they're finishing to the ball they're working to you know be the best players they can be other quick notes Other Practice Notes you need to hear Johnny Wilson the FSU wide receiver very quiet so far he did get some first team wide receiver reps today but according to reports did not make any catches James Bradberry is a second team safety yet again had a nice pass break up of Kenny picket and maai Beck starting at Right Guard he neutralized that jayen Carter rep during 11 on 11s that impressed some onlookers on the sideline Josh sweat he's been quiet so far again no pads not really worried yet but after practice he did explain exactly why he went from a normal Edge rusher number of 94 to 19 listen to this Sho I just need to change man you know um just like when I cut my hair I just just wanted to feel new that's it what made you pick 19 oh that was available I tried to get 15 but that J was retired back in like 1950 like man I need to go ahead and bring that back out4 94 nothing I like it I like it I feel a little bit feel fresh you know what I'm saying so there's no history with 19 nowhere in the high school no I wore nine in high school and I wore nine in college but I can't get nine now cuz retired H sounds to me like the Eagles have quietly retired the number nine not quite sure why like is there a player in history who wore number nine who did something special for the Philadelphia Eagles I can't quite put my mind on that still though it's interesting nonetheless I've said about 90 times today the Eagles put pads on tomorrow and well yes the first couple of training camp practices do matter pads or no pads when the pads actually go on that's when offensive line defensive line I think linebackers are really going to start to kind of make it clear who's trending upwards who's trending downwards and so we'll cover all of that tomorrow sure to go ahead and hit the Subscribe button
