Nafisa Collier is not the only Minnesota links player headed to the Olympics. Bridget Carlton made the cut too but not for team USA will Hall has more on her journey links. Sixth year guard Bridget Carlton is in the midst of a breakout season averaging a career best nine points per game. It's a really hard and luckily I found a home in Minnesota. She'll soon head to Paris for her second Olympic experience of her career with team Canada. It's incredible. I love playing for my national team and representing Canada at the highest level and this is a dream come true. You know, representing Canada at the Olympics for the second time. It's just kind of surreal. Her second trip to the Olympics will provide the chance to share the experience in person with parents, Rob and Carey to have them in the stands. You know, they're so proud to be from Canada. They love the Olympics as much as I do and to have their daughter, I can feel how proud they are. The Canadian women's national team has never medaled at the Olympics something Carlton and her teammates would love to achieve in Paris to be a medalist at an Olympic Games would be just incredible and I think it would be so much for our sport in Canada Paris will also provide a chance to face her linked teammate and member of team Australia Alanna Smith and potentially a game against Cheryl Reeve and Nafisa Collier in team USA in the medal rounds. Obviously, when we're in the lines, you know, we're trying to beat each other. But you know, those relationships last outside of that get to, you know, share that experience, which will be really fun. Just a couple of weeks, you're gonna be on the world stage and there's gonna be a lot of young girls and a lot of young girls growing up in Canada that will watch your games and realize that they can follow your path and maybe one day play in the Olympics. What would your advice be to them? Oh, that's a great question. I think to be yourself, have fun and work as hard as you can in the sky is the limit. Um I never thought I would be a two time Olympian. I never thought I'd be in the W NBA for six years. Um And hopefully much longer than that, the little things matter and just having fun with it. Uh at the end of the day and you could do Bridget and Team Canada will begin group play on Monday, July 29th, taking on France at 10:15 a.m. Remember the games kick off on July 26th right here on care 11. Only 10 days away. Hard to believe.
