all right the United States is struggling our school systems are struggling we're being inundated with illegal immigrants uh students are falling further and further behind the economy uh most Americans are falling behind on their bills I want to go through some of the biggest news stories with my special guest Terry Schilling Terry thank you so much for joining me today thanks for having me Stephen so uh just some background uh Terry is the head of the American princip project which uh helps hold politicians accountable for the way that they behave the way that they vote uh keeping uh family at the Forefront of good policymaking um I W to I want to go through a clip um from Fox News about the the recent debate a few nights ago um and how Independence reacted to this because the mainstream media keeps telling us uh Trump did a terrible job uh kamla Harris is winning oh my gosh now we have um we have oh who's the Taylor Swift has just endorsed her um obviously that means that she's great even though you know I like Taylor Swift's music but I don't give to craps about her thoughts on my children or education or my political leanings but let me run this clip and then we'll talk about it together okay she's going to do this she's going to do that she's going to do all these wonderful things why hasn't she done it she's been there for three and A2 years they've had three and A2 years to fix the Border they've had three and a half years to create jobs and all the things we talked about why hasn't she done it she should leave right now go down to that beautiful white house go to the capital get everyone together and do the things you want to do but you haven't done it and you won't do it because you believe in things that the American people don't believe in so uh some context uh this is Trump's closing statement at the Trump Harris debate hosted by ABC News the yellow line represents independent voters the red line is Republican voters and the blue line is Democrat voters it's very interesting you can see when he starts talking about making America great making America safe protecting the Border um and you you see this giant Spike right and then he's able to hold people's attention when he says they've had three and a half years to fix this stuff why hasn't she done it and you can see he just holds that body of Voters attention meanwhile uh Democrats are like we don't care that she's ruined the economy we don't care that she's done nothing and it just continues to drop further and further what what are your thoughts on this clip up to this point Terry well it's fascinating because because you know i' we've actually conducted focus groups and so I I kind of know like the background for how these things work basically everyone has a dial in front of them and when they like what the politicians saying they start to turn it to the right right and they turn it up and that's that's when you see those yellow and red lines going up but then when they don't like it they turn it down and they're going down like you know left the Democratic line is the most interesting to me right because it says to me that you know basically they're hearing him say like why hasn't she done it right but they're not going all the way down they they're kind of like ah yeah yeah that's uh yeah why haven't they done it like it's he has a really good point there right and obviously it resonates with The Independents and Republicans uh and I would argue based on these lines and how they're not diverging very far apart uh he's kind of working with Democrats he's got a solid argument there uh so that that's basically my take I I think it's a very strong closing argument uh I I will say I think the big thing missing and and look Trump's a masterminded branding he's he he understands how to speak the American people in ways that I don't he's much more talented than me but I just think that the one thing that's lacking is this optimistic positive vision for where he wants to take the C country and essentially he is arguing that we want to go back to where he was taking the country just four years ago and I think that that's a strong argument but I think that if he were to add just a little bit more about what it would look like under a trump presidency versus a KLA Harris presid he's doing great at telling people what it's going to look like under K Harris it's more the same we've been getting but just talk a little bit more about his positive Vision because it is a positive Vision it's a very good vision and um let's let's sell this to the American people I think I think that's the one thing he that he missed on on this debate the other night yeah no that's that's a good point I mean he could have said and I'm just spitballing off the the top of my head he could have said something like hey when I came in gas prices under Barack Obama were at the highest they had been and I was able to get those down by unleashing American Energy by by taking this beautiful country that does the cleanest refiner of fossil fuels in the world and give the cleanest gas and oil to the American people and make us energy dominant we're going to do that again we did it before we can do it again her track record is they shut down pipelines they make gas more expensive they make oil more expensive because they're beholden to these climate change agenda people we're going to make America more affordable Again by pumping as much oil and keep and cleaning it up cleanly you know like I you're right I think he could have uh just taken those policy ideas that really resonate with people and put that optimistic we're going to get people working we're the best at doing this and remind the American people like Nobody Does it Better than America right like if we're going to use fossil fuels do you want them coming from Venezuela or do you want them coming from the Gulf of Mexico you know off the coast of Texas or Louisiana like we do a really good job I I I agree with you so let's uh yeah go ahead go ahead well I was just gonna add and I would go a little bit further because I do think that families are going to be ultimately what decides this election not in terms of the 50-50 split but he needs to take the support he's getting from married people and and people with children he's already in the the upper 50s with these people but he needs to get it to the closer to 60 and a little bit over 60 if he's able to do that he will win this election handily families are the largest voting Block in this country so talk about what this what his election will mean for families parents you're not going to have 40y old kids living in your basement anymore 40y old kids you're gonna be able to afford to move out of your parents basement you're gonna have jobs you're G you know paint this picture and put it into practical terms it's not just you'll be able to afford groceries again you won't be putting on credit card debt to pay your medical bills and your and your grocery bills and your gas bills so I I I completely agree with you I I think he needs to talk about it appeal to families more really give give families a vision for what your Administration means for them yeah um you know you you made me think about um the the surprise win of Governor Glenn yunan in Virginia right you had I think his name was MC mlin something like that he was the Democrat he he was he was positioned to win and then all this Scandal came out about schools transgender genders in the girls bathroom uh couple of students being violated and and then they tried to cover it up and lie and all of a sudden Glenn yunan appealed to the American mom to the American family and all of a sudden boom everything switched on a dime and next thing you know he's the governor of Virginia is that kind of what you're saying as far as if you can really Inspire the American family they'll get out there and vote right right and that's the other aspect you can't just paint the economic Vision paint the cultural Vision parents you're not going to have to really worry about what's going on in your kids' schools because I'm gonna clean it up right and that's what's beautiful about the the make America healthy again slogan right it only rich people right now and people that are have a ton of energy and extra time to really monitor what's in their food they have to go to all these different grocery stores and pay a bunch of extra money that should just be the standard you know healthy food you know healthy schools vibrant schools that are teaching our kids how to learn and how to do math or how to read and how to write and how to do math again let's get back to that and stop indoctrinating I paint that picture uh culturally and economically yeah okay let's finish this and then I want to come back to that Terry because I I read some very disturbing things but let let's finish up this clip okay so you had a a fairly large portion um with hand dial so everybody's like doing this real time you're getting it what was going on there so I think it's it this was an exercise of Framing and I think this is one of the best things that Donald Trump did last night was he framed something that people are going to remember which is if she's saying that she's going to do all these things why hasn't she done it in the last three and a half years and a question that a lot of Voters had and I think it's also the question a lot of Democrats have so you didn't see Democrats go as low when he was talking about that because they want to know what is going to be different now what are you going to do different that and it was a very very smart exercise in framing he should have done it earlier this is his closing it could have done it often and all throughout because I do think it was one of the most powerful things he did right yeah I agree with her I I think he could have used that idea of framing all along do you remember what it was like under the Trump Administration extra money vacations gas was affordable groceries were affordable rent was affordable the American dream was accessible to a lot of families out there instead you know Kamala kept baiting him into oh crowd size and um you know whether Afghanistan was his fault um you know he got he got baited and unfortunately you know just being human we can all fall into that he fell into that but I think that framing like you said he didn't lose as many Democrats uh as you would have expected but he grabbed that independent voters uh ideals and they were like o okay wait a minute I think I actually like what Trump is saying let's do a quick commercial break so I can tell people about today's video sponsor we all have two ages our greens.com and use promo code Gardener that's promo code Gardener at field ofg greens.com fieldof greens.com and go ahead and use that QR code if you're watching this on TV all right now let's uh get back to the interview well there's the there's the straw man arguments right and those are really weak arguments to make your opponent look stupid then there's the Iron Man arguments that are really tough to argue against and that's what he closed with and so I pray that there is another debate because I like more discussions even if they're rigged I think he held his own against these you know these three people that were against him in this last debate uh but I I think that we need more discussions um and more debates on this and so I do hope even if it's on MSNBC I would advise him to do it and to really Hammer home on his closing message throughout the whole debate every single time he en chance he gets get back to that question sometime look she keeps saying we're not going back well sometimes people do want to go back right Nostalgia is a very powerful thing that's what he tapped into in his 2016 run was to make America great again get back to the greatness of America in the 80s and 90s and away from this malaise that we suffered in the 2000s it's a very powerful thing Nostalgia and and tap into that tap into going back to what things were like under his presidency before the pandemic uh and before this disastrous 4 years of the Biden Harris Administration yeah I agree um I recently read that one-third of all us students are behind on their grade level and in some cases a a large percentage are actually failing um is this because Democrats lead the school systems that it's failing us is this the fact that they are spending money on stupid things instead of good teachers is this because the teachers are under pressure to hit certain uh criteria when it comes to testing versus you know the dissemination of important information where where do you think the the school systems are getting it wrong right now uh well essentially I think the biggest problem is that the school system has been turned up on its head it used to be that you you know a local community would start a local school and they would form a school board to hold that school and the teachers and principal and the administration accountable that got turned on its head once the teachers unions started really investing into these local elections and now especially here in my home my home county of Fairfax you look at the school board it's like 100% Democrats and it's 100% uh teachers union uh supporters that's not how it's supposed to work that that's the that's putting the wolves in charge of watching the chickens it's not how it's supposed to work it's supposed to be parents and Outsiders and holding these boards accountable but right now no one's holding the schools accountable so when they fail they actually get more money right and their arguments are very are very terrible no one measuring uh academic achievement is not hurting academic achievement uh it's not taking away you you should they're arguing that they're preparing so spending so much time throughout the year to prepare for these academic achievement tests that's why they're feeling that doesn't make sense that just doesn't make sense if you were spending the whole time too many resources and time uh preparing for the tests then the test should performing really well but and I I just want to lightly correct you on something on the national assessment for educational progress scores when it comes to English Reading Writing and math only one only only onethird of our kids are reading and writing and doing math at grade level two-thirds of them are behind and they're not at grade level that is so it's much worse than we realize so I think the biggest problem is that the there's no accountability for the schools they actually get incentives and more money when they do worse uh so the more the plans fail the more the planners plan and the more the planners spend but then on top of that you have we've created a uh an economy where both parents essentially need to work today in order to make ends meet and that's not sustainable so you can probably track these scores and academic achievement and and uh education levels for People based off of when uh we needed two incomes to support a household right you it's it's okay like we Prosperity is fewer hours work for more money right like that you don't want to work more for for more money you want to work less for more money that's prosperity and we've been working a lot more uh just to stay above water uh and we got to get back to where we have more flexibility where both Mom and Dad don't have to work where one can afford to stay home and to prioritize working with the children it's a look it's a full-time job raising kids for both the mom and the dads and so you know when you're a mom and a dad and you take on extra hours at work you're taking away from your kids right they're the ones that really deserve and need your time and affection we go to work to afford kids we go to work to provide for them um and we got to make sure that we we start to get back to an economy where there can be a healthy balance between uh making money and providing but also providing for their emotional needs not just their financial needs yeah yeah no that's uh that's a that's a good point you know my in our household we've been fortunate that my wife has been able to be at home uh with the kids she does run a business on the side and she likes it uh but for the most part we we made a decision very early on that uh we were going to support my career and and put you know our eggs in that basket and it it's been pressure on me to be able to do that but with that pressure has come uh opportunity and progress and and increased skill set so um you know I I definitely have you know seen seen that for myself um your your group is going to be spending $18 million uh to positively have an influence on the election what what can you tell us about that where where's that money going to go uh so uh primarily the money is going to be going into the top seven uh Battleground States Arizona Georgia Wisconsin North Carolina Pennsylvania Ohio and Montana uh we we have four core States for the presidential Arizona Georgia Wisconsin and North Carolina if we win those States uh we will win the presidency that's where we fell apart last go around um so we're investing in campaign ads highlighting Camala Harris's uh insane agenda when it comes to our kids putting men and girls Sports confusing children about gender empowering a 4 and a half billion dollar uh transgender industry that's mutilating and sterilizing our kids uh but also uh talking about the the decisions that kamla Harris and Joe Biden made with our military you know the the Afghanistan pullout uh was a disaster and it was because we've put a bunch of people in leadership in the military who are bigger experts on diversity and all of this woke ideology than they are in military combat and Military practices that was a disastrous pull out we on top of all the lives we lost unnecessarily and the chaos that we left that country we left $80 billion in equipment right there's that famous video of President Trump uh you know talking about how Millie told him that it's actually a good thing that we left that all that stuff back there because then we can make new ones he says that's gotta be the stupidest effing thing I've ever heard in my life you know it's exactly right so we're we're running campaign ad in these targeted States going after swing voters um but we're also investing in some key Battleground States for the Senate because uh it's not going to do us a lot of good just to reclaim the White House we've got to make sure that we have a majority in the Senate so we can actually get some of our legislation passed yeah let me look something up here really quick Terry I just read this this morning and I want to quote it correctly okay here we go according to the poly markets bedding Republicans have a 74% chance of taking back the Senate so you know with with you know folks like you and and others specifically strategically targeting these areas that we need in order to take back the Senate you're right uh I I believe Trump is going to win uh I believe the numbers indicate that he's going to win maybe not the popular vote but through the Electoral College um and that's what that's all we need right and then potentially JD Vance for four to eight years you know imagine conservative values uh taking over the country for almost a decade uh I think we could see a completely different America but um I I appreciate what you guys are doing as far as uh really targeting those swing States but also targeting those seats so that uh Trump and and the Senate and the house have the best chance of actually passing good legislation uh that benefits America the working class and and American families I wanted to uh watch a clip with you this is JD Vance on the Sha Ryan podcast talking about government spending let me roll that the people government work better which is maybe the most important thing interesting with your discussions with with President Trump and Elon Musk is there any estimation on what percentage of the government we can see go away I think when he took Twitter it was what he he cut 80% of the workforce yeah that's right okay we're spending $2.4 trillion more from 2019 to 2024 and what are we actually getting out of it I think a lot of that money you can make a lot of that money go away or I shouldn't say go away you can give it back to people who actually earned it rather than have it being misspent by government bureaucrats I think you can fire a lot of uh or or at least you know get rid of a lot of the federal Workforce right I don't know if it's 80% but it's a lot because look there are a lot of people I mean look if you go to washingon DC right now and you go to the Social Security Administration there are a lot of people who aren't showing up to work and and you know why they're not showing up to work is co but they're still doing remote work in some of these agencies like if your job is not important enough for you to show up and actually do it then maybe you shouldn't be collecting a taxpayer check to begin with and so I think there's a lot that you can cut there's a lot of efficiencies you can get out of there and I really do think you can save hundreds of billions of dollars maybe even trillions of dollars just by making the people's government work more efficiently Perfect all right can you can you imagine uh cutting the budget by hundreds of billions or or a trillion dollars you know you have Democrats that are always saying we need to raise taxes uh in in order for the government to do better you have Republicans saying no we need to cut taxes um whenever somebody tells me that they need more uh tax revenue all I can think about is you guys you know manage our money so poorly that you need to steal more of it from us taxation is theft of our hard-earned money time away from family what what were your thoughts on JD Vance's comments first of all I think JD is exactly right there is so much waste in our federal government and this is what I live every day you know when I first uh started in DC uh commun to work it would take me about 45 50 minutes to get to work when covid happened uh there was a huge shift in my commute it like basically dropped almost a half uh and it still hasn't picked up I got like a 30 minute commute right and what that tells me is that JD's exactly right there are still still a lot of federal employees who are staying home because of covid they shifted everything uh to be much more work from home which I don't believe in work from home I run a team we're very close in it we have to work together we have to work with people it's not healthy to stay in your house all day you need to get out you need to interact with other people um we need we are social creatures but he's exactly right and um you know when the first government shutdown happened uh in what 2013 ran Paul gave this speech talking about he called up all of these federal agencies the EPA the the department of HHS and Department of Education he called up every place and said hey um just curious because you've had to Furlow workers and lay them off which percentage of your employees are are are necessary uh employees that you that you decided not to lay off they said 3% 5% 6% so he was saying basically that that 95 93% of of Government Federal Government EMP es were non-essential that was the exact term that they used was non-essential employees let's get rid of these people they aren't making our lives better JD's exactly right we're spending 2.4 trillion more dollars a year I think our the federal budget's over Six Trillion a year now that's so much money I think it's hard for people to really fathom every trillion is one million Millions right that's a lot of money and so we have six million Millions going out every year and for what what are we getting out of it we're getting illiterate children we're getting extremely expensive Healthcare my My Healthcare premiums for my family when I was first married for an HSA account it was uh $400 a month and after $10,000 deductible everything was covered right so we we've now it's over $2500 a month this is insane and I still have a $6,000 deductible right so it's $2,300 a month plus a $6,000 deductible that's insane um we're not getting anything out of it the federal government is stealing from us you're you know I saw the movie a couple weeks ago and one of the most interesting things was when Reagan first got elected they were trying to solve the budget deficit and he came in brought us whole team of advisers and they said we' like you to consider what we uh adding some tax enhancer or some some Revenue enhancers and he said is that what you all call tax increases in this town my goodness and that is the type of uh you know Focus grouped uh you know marketing language that these people thinking uh in terms of and it's just AB garbage there's a lot but even more so Stephen it's not just the waste we pay a lot of people to do a lot of damage to this country right we pay a lot of people in this country to hold up the ability of a duly elected president to be able to enact his agenda that the American people sent him to Washington DC to do this is what Trump dealt with from 2017 all the way to the end of his term was all of these Federal bureaucrats holding up not his agenda agenda but the agenda that the American people elected him to enact and that's what's most damaging and that's what's most harmful so cut the waste but first cut the damage cut the harm those are the real those are I would start from the top and go after all the people uh that are acting criminally and holding up uh the the political will of the American people yeah that's a good point you know because JD Vance just said listen you know we need to probably Deport between 15 million to to 20 million illegal immigrants that's an uphill battle why don't we start with a million of the criminals uh The Gangs the mafias the the drug you know uh traffickers the human traffickers anyone with criminal P from their home country get all of those people rounded up and moved out same thing like seriously who who needs to go um I mean I don't know if you've ever thought about this but do you think our our founding fathers ever envisioned a Time when the federal government would have over 2 million employees the largest employer on planet Earth I don't think it's supposed to be that way no it's not and yeah I got I was curious about this with the last government shutdown how the current US federal government compared to that of the Soviet Union at its height and our federal government is way bigger than what a communist nation was at its height of the of their empire it's embarrassing right the only difference is is uh you know our federal Workforce is just they don't just have as much power right the the Comm is had a lot more power these people have what what's known as soft power they're able to influence the media and put pressure on them they're changing our hearts and Minds every day they it's it's much more uh of a persuasion uh operation than it is a force that that comes later that comes after they've secured uh enough power but it's it's absolutely embarrassing and there's ways to much waste but there's way too much harm being done by our federal officials yeah no I appreciate you pointing that out because I I had not thought about uh you know I I just think in terms of uh how much of my tax money is going towards stupid stuff but I never really considered some of it could be stupid but also stupid and harmful so that I think that's a really excellent point thank you for making that LE let's react to one more video together I I like to pull in the the you know I W I read so much news every day I see so many videos and then I try to um you know compile the the the best ones but let's react to this last one together that reporting from Reuters in the New York Times they actually asked a number of undecided voters in key States how did you view the candidates going in how did you view them going out Reuters in fact had uh 60% I think it was six out of 10 voters who said they moved towards Trump afterwards and when they're asked why they said cuz KLA Harris was evasive on her answers around the economy and and I think she flubbed a really ke opportunity she had in that very first question when she was asked are you better off than you were four years ago and she didn't show a single really ability to connect with voters who are feeling struggling right now in this economy and with the price of goods and groceries and gas and she missed a real key moment there so I like how uh this woman in the middle looks over here at the last minute like no don't why are we letting this guy talk bad about K Harris Let's watch we're feeling struggling right now in this economy going to allow that's right that's right that's great that's so um they they did a word cloud of what people were saying about the debate and uh the the Trump had two words that tied economy and Border th those were the tying words for Trump and the number one word for Kamala was abortion uh and so if this comes down to economic issues um I I I think Trump ends up taking more people and according to this CNN panel uh and Reuters they're saying 60% in the after said wait a minute we're leaning more towards Donald Trump uh than than kamla Harris after hearing both of them uh do do you think that resonates do you think that the the economic issues are perhaps more important to most Americans right now uh I do I think that you know obviously jobs in the economy I think our national security our domestic tranquility so to speak for lack of a better word I think those are all the top of everyone's mind I do think though that for a certain subsector voters if you look at the the voting chart based on uh marital status married men solidly in Trump support uh column married women solidly 54 55% in Trump's column uh single men 52% 55% depending on the day in Trump's column single women my goodness it's like 63 64% in in commis column we've got to address this and we've got to talk directly to suburb women I think that's where we get hurt the most on abortion but you can't just get rid of all protections for The Unborn I think you need to go on offense there the a lot of the debate the other night was all about how K's main point you know Trump's main point was comma will allow for abortions all the way up until birth and even after birth uh and she and the moderator said that's not true there's no state in the country that lets you do this and and we we won't have it up until the ninth month by the way they said abortions don't happen in the seventh eth and nth month that is not true and and the obvious example is imagine being an unmarried woman who has a boyfriend planing to get engaged and then the boyfriend leaves her while she's pregnant in the seventh eth and ninth month you don't think a good portion of those women will go get abortions you really think that they that that's not even going to be in their mind or if they're married and they're pregnant seventh eth ninth month and the husband abandons them you really don't think that abortion is going to be be a consideration for a very scared and frightened woman who has just had an emotional Whirlwind and a roller coaster pushed on her absolutely it's going to be a consideration but we're a better Nation than that and we should be protecting babies um at least in the latest stages uh of pregnancy so that you know just because men are abandoning women that we don't also abandon women and their babies we need to be there and I think there is a conversation to be had Trump's starting it right now he's going on offense by highlighting the extremism of Kamala but we've got to go a little bit further I think dig a little little bit deeper and talk about um what we're going to do to more you know better support women in these type of situation because it is scary it is it is terrible no woman should be forced to go through that alone and that's why you have government in some situations to provide the support so that women don't even think of abortion as an option because they have plenty of other areas of support their families their their local communities and and yes at a at a last gas U the the the yeah well Terry thank you so much for for coming on I've I've enjoyed this conversation uh Tucker Carlson has said many positive things about American principles project if people want to learn more uh support you follow you what where where can I send people to learn more it's just very simple American principles project.org you can sign up get engaged see our campaign ads see all of our our research we just released an amazing report on the transgender industry it's a $4.5 billion dollar industry and we show how much these procedures cost all that it's it's fascinating stuff I really love it um and I've also got seven kids uh so you can learn more about my my family and how this is a really really big deal for me and it's it's actually very authentic and sincere okay well I definitely need to let you go if you've got seven kids because I've got I've got three and sometimes I wonder uh you know how do I have a life outside of uh Parenthood but I love I love being a dad um children are such a blessing they you know they really do grow you as a human and so I'm grateful to God for the opportunity to to be a father uh Terry thank you so much for coming on I'm going to put those direct links down below and I hope you have a great rest of your day
