you start to see his true motives one of the reasons why musk bought Twitter is because he really had no choice he made some arrogant bold claims and signed a contract to back these claims even with the knowledge that the company was rarely turning a profit after this he spent months trying to back out of the $44 million purchase agreement which became so disruptive to Twitter's business that in attempts to put this whole thing to rest they ended up suing musk in the Delaware Court of Chancery prior to being sued by Twitter musk had a laundry list of reasons for backing out of the deal but they were all pretty bogus and he would have most certainly lost in court so in the end musk was looking at two outcomes here number one he'd be forced to purchase Twitter for the agreed upon price or number two he would be forced to pay the damages to Twitter and the Twitter shareholders
