Honor Magic V3 durability test - Is it unbreakable?

Intro honor will soon launch the magic V3 outside of China and they invited us to try to see how much it can take before it breaks let's see what we can do about [Music] [Music] that hey what's up guys will here for GSM aren photable phones may look cool but with their moving parts and relatively flimsy protection on those folding screens one of the biggest concerns people might have is durability enter the new honor magic V3 which based on Honor's claims may be the most rugged foldable phone to come out yet it brings ipx8 rated water resistance plus it's rated for military grade toughness against drops and extreme temperatures the reinforced steel hinge has been tested for smooth operation after hundreds of thousands of actuations and even the folding display is protected by the latest toughend ultra thin glass but is this phone as tough as it's cracked up to [Music] be before we start bear in mind that Water test this is not a sponsored video no one from honor has watched this in advance we'll Begin by testing out the waterproofing here a dip in the aquarium should be no problem for an ipx8 rated phone yep it's working fine check the honor magic V3 is also able to handle pressurized water with no problems in our improvised Garden spray down test now we'll step it up a bit honor already posted a video with this phone handling a washing machine run like a champ so let's make sure they weren't faking [Music] it yeah what do you think would happen if you left your phone in the wash ice is technically water right and the magic V3 is supposed to handle extreme temperatures let's crack this ice open and see how the phone is doing check for the ice test now let's see how scratch resistant Ice test this display really is honor calls it a super armored inner screen and it's supposed to be tougher to scratch thanks to a new nanoscale aluminum protective coating but folding screens are also covered by plastic screen protectors and these are notoriously easy to scratch we've got permanent Marks here just by scratching the screen with our fingernail maybe we should try this again with the screen protector peeled off give us a shout in the comments if You' like us to try that in our full review next how resilient is this hinge honor claims over a 1200% 10 Improvement here compared to the previous model we're adding 5 kilos of weight backwards on this hinge and it still doesn't budge what now oh we're setting up a tent and looks like we forgot our Hammer why not use the phone instead don't try this at home it's a bit dented but the phone still works kind of finally we're going to do some drop testing the outer screen should be pretty scratch resistant too so we'll see if it can handle sliding on some rough cobblestones so here are the results after all of the torture the magic V3 still runs there are a few small scratches on the screens but no cracks there's some dings here and there the most notable damage is from the hammering on the frame so kudos to honor for making such a durable device with the magic B3 thanks for watching guys stay tuned for our full review in a couple of weeks and I'll see you on the next one [Music] [Applause] [Music]
