Meteorologist, Trevor Burchett has been tracking all of this and when we can expect the impacts. Yeah, we have a few days to get ready for Francine before that storm makes it all the way up to Memphis. But it is definitely something we're watching carefully and the storm really is just now getting its act together. Like you said, it's a tropical storm right now. Winds are about 65 miles an hour, but there are some big thunderstorms out in Francine and I expect the storm to continue to intensify through the day today. It's eventually going to be a hurricane, I would say within the next few hours, we'll see Francine become a category one hurricane after that, likely going to strengthen up to a category two storm with wind of 100 miles an hour. It'll make landfall on the Louisiana coast Wednesday evening or Wednesday night. That's gonna be just west of New Orleans, likely down near Lafayette or south of Baton Rouge. After that, the storm continues off to the north. It's pretty much gonna follow up the Mississippi River and what's left of Francine is gonna make it to us here in Memphis by Thursday and Friday. So that is why we are watching Francine so carefully because we are gonna feel the impacts from the storm as it continues to move inland. Here's the latest hour by hour radar as we track Francine in this is starting off tomorrow night at 6 p.m. Notice we're dry, most of tomorrow will be dry. It's gonna be late tomorrow night. We start to see the outer rain bands of Francine move to the north and we'll really start to see the rain from Francine pick up by Thursday by 6 a.m. Some heavy rain and high wind starting to roll into Memphis and it's pretty much gonna rain all day. Thursday by 11 a.m. Still bands of very heavy rain anywhere. You see the heavy rain, you're also gonna have some very high wind gusts and again that continues throughout the day, Thursday, even into Thursday night, likely even seeing a couple of showers continue into early Friday morning. It does look like to me the biggest threat with Francine here is gonna be the heavy rain 4 to 6 inches of rain in parts of the mid south. That's great news for the drought we've been in. But in the meantime, it could cause some flooding Thursday into Friday. The wind gusts also something we're gonna watch again. Any time the rain picks up, the winds will pick up too gust as high as 45 maybe even 50 miles an hour on Thursday. So I would not be surprised to see some power outages get a high risk for wind on Thursday. Heavy rain, pretty much a surefire. Bet Thursday into Friday, I can't even rule out a quick spin up tornado. Uh, that is a possibility when these storms come inland, they can sometimes spin up some tornadoes. I think that's a low risk but it is something we will have to watch. Of course, that's still a few days away. Today. Looks nice. 59 in summer, 55 in war, 56 in Blytheville again, a dry and mostly sunny day. Today, we get up to a high around 9088 tomorrow as clouds move in rain from Francine arrives late Wednesday night and it's gonna continue all day. Thursday. Very heavy rain and high wind on Thursday. That's why it's an ABC 24 weather impact day flooding power outages. Not out of the question. On Thursday, some showers continue into Friday and we could even see a couple of showers for Saturday and Sunday. I think most of the weekend will be dry, but some of the rain from Francine really could linger into Saturday and Sunday.
