um speaking of Legends right now the most consistent Culture Creator in American football college or Pro is Jim Harbaugh it's not Sabin he's retired it's not Parcels he's gone bich nope Urban Meer in college doing TV it's Jim Harbaugh preh Harbaugh do you remember how bad Stanford was 1 and 11 or they were good at the academic thing they were horrible at football his first year at Stanford they flew down to Los Angeles as a 40o underdog and beat the Trojans who were number two in the country in Los Angeles the San Francisco 49ers pre Harbaugh had not made the playoffs in eight years the roster was a mess they had no culture year one with Harbaugh 13-3 NFC Championship with a quarterback that was viewed as a bust Alex Smith Michigan was a tire fire pre harball five- seven one first round pick a left Tacker tackle Taylor uh lean one first rounder in four years pre hard ball first year 10 and three and know by the way this last year what do they have 13 14 guys drafted Stanford was a disaster Niners were a disaster Michigan was a disaster and now here comes Houdini pre Harbaugh the Chargers last year had a virtual Mutiny with their players 5 and 12 worst locker room in the league worst big play defense in the league with a defensive coordinator and Jim walks into the building by the way a brand new building in Elsa gundo California it's gorgeous and here's the guy that does this better than anybody currently coaching football he is the greatest repetitive Culture Creator but this time it's not a total rebuild khil Mack BOS off the edge his first draft pick Joe Al best tackle in the draft to go along with ran Slater Edge rushers tackles above average Justin Herbert oh Justin Herbert nothing against Alex Smith or his first quarterback at Michigan but Justin Herbert's really good Jim Harbaugh this week who was a quarterback in the NFL I think he's got a little twinkle he's been very optimistic he's almost been funny this entire off season he's getting why because this isn't the Stanford rebuild this isn't the Niner rebuild this isn't the Michigan rebuild he's got Justin Herbert he's always reminded me Jim Harbaugh a little of the late Steve jobs jobs wasn't the best engineer right there were smarter people in the building but he understood unlike Microsoft at the time the Artistry of it he was selling image imagery and he knew what he wasn't Harbaugh is not the best scheme guy in the NFL could be Kyle Shanahan not the best scheme guy but the ability to change cultures college and pro is a real thing and nobody in the world is better at it and I got into this discussion a couple of months ago and somebody said God Harbaugh's really lightened up he's like funny and likable and I'm like cuz Jim sees what he's never seen before which is a top five quarterback in a rebuild yeah I wholeheartedly agree with that Justin Herbert is without a doubt the best quarterback that Harbaugh has ever coached and he's going to feel like oh my God everything is going to be easier everything is going to be processed quicker everything is going to be executed at a much higher success rate when a coach finally gets their quarterback and a quarterback finally gets their coach it's the cliche match made in heaven but it's just so deadly accurate in the NFL and a hyper intelligent quarterback like a Justin Herbert needs a hyper intelligent coach offensive head coach at that and that's Harbaugh and that's what makes Harbaugh kind of special is that not only is he really intelligent and and like KH pointed out maybe he's not like the most right maybe not but what he does though are the other things he knows how to lead he knows how to build he knows how to communicate players absolutely positive L love Hardball you can't find a single EX player to say anything bad about Hardball they love him they just think he's so real and authentic he's not fake he really connects and he has the intelligence to go along with it and the ability to build and Lead all those things don't always go hand in hand there's still so much doubt around Harbaugh as a coach they're like oh well he failed in in in the pros okay sure and they still there a lot of Doubt around Herbert where they think he's not a top quarterback in fact anytime these lists come out where people still put Herbert in like the top 10 or in a top tier whoever's doing the list you know and however it's unfolding a momes mountain or or uh you know the tiers or the list or the or a quarterback pull whatever it may be people always flock to Herbert always and say why is he in there he shouldn't be top 10 and no matter what fan bases whether it's people like Dak Prescott fans saying you know Dak should be in there instead of Herbert or if it's Jaylen Herz fan saying Jaylen should be in there instead of Herbert or pry fans right like it's it's usually like a specific fan base depending on the list that feels scorned that their quarterback's not in and they all they often flock to Herbert and that's why you have to look Beyond just pure stats Herbert has never had a legitimate Bonafide NFL head coach in the NFL he hasn't and he hasn't had a true offensive mind like Harbaugh as his head coach as his head coach so there was no consistency and continuity nothing to build off of no momentum that Herbert was ever able to get the team around him was buil poorly the culture around him was awful and the coach around him except for a couple like Aiken and even Kell Moore for that matter were awful that's all changed that's all completely changed Harbaugh and Herbert are going to light this league on fire there's a lot of talk about Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs about how many Super Bowls can they win and it's understandable Patrick Mahomes and and the Kansas City Chiefs and Andy Reid absolutely own the NFL right now you can't debate that it's undebatable but they've been able to Feast off of a very bad division the Chargers part of that that's over at the least next season it's over that division is about to be hard it is not going to be easy wins against the Chargers or just to win the division because the Chargers are going to be legit Justin Herbert because right now everyone says for the most part it's slowly starting to change prior to the CJ strad and Jordan love season of last year people would always say who are the top quarterbacks and everybody would say well of course Patrick Mahomes Josh Allen Joe burrow and Lamar right like that's pretty uncon you know not very controversial right it would just be automatic Josh Allen Patrick Mahomes Joe burrow Lamar Jackson you are absolutely going to say Justin Herbert and you're going to put Justin Herbert ahead of some of these other quarterbacks Justin Herbert will Leap Frog a Joe burrow a Lamar Jackson maybe not Josh Allen depending on what Josh Allen does with the bills because he's such a athletic freak as well but it's the potential because he's got the better Coach so there's true potential for Herbert to really shine and and leap Prague and be the number two quarterback and again this starts to get a little bit more tricky because it depends on what are Jordan love and CJ strad about to do because they also are both hooked up with their coaches and their roster they and and they're ahead of the Chargers in terms of that cuz one they've already now have a year or so with their main offensive mind coach as well as like a legitimate roster now that can support that whereas the Chargers and Justin Herbert he this is his first year with harball now and they still got to build up that roster they gota they got to they got to you know still do some some magic uh with that team rebuild that culture but Justin Herbert will prove to everyone that he is a top quarterback that he is an elite quarterback because I think a lot of fans based off of me reading these comments a lot of people doubt that and they ask and I I understand why they ask like why is Justin Herbert given this and again it's why sometimes the eye test is superior to Stats and I understand not everybody has the ability for the eye test I think it's got to be a combination between you understanding football playing sports playing both football and other sports as well I I think it's just something that it's a little bit more instinctual that maybe not everyone has the ability so which is a little bit harder that's why they rely on stats you see a lot of people who especially have never played Sports at all rely so heavily on stats because that's what can make sense to them because I don't think they could really understand what's great what's average what's you know well a lot of people can do that like I don't think that they know how to process sometimes where to put someone just you know aesthetically sometimes a player like a Mahomes you don't need to know anything about anything and it just leaps off the screen you're like well I I don't even know what the heck football is but clearly that guy's really good sometimes that's the case and that's exceptional but once you start to get in these a little bit more complicated situations whether it be a Dak Prescott a Jaylen Herz a brock pie Justin Herbert having a good year then not a good year like it takes a little bit more than just stats you got to really look and see what you're seeing you got to really see why is someone being successful right here why is someone not being successful and it's the eye test like again we can you can crunch the numbers to you're blue in the face sometimes you just got to really look at it and really see what am I seeing and why and I think it's something that at least this has been my experience so far with this channel is that it's something that people struggle with because I think also not a lot of people get to watch all these games I think that's also the fundamental problem which again is understandable unless you're a Chargers fan you're not watching a lot of Justin Herbert play so you're not really understanding where the lack of success is and it's why I respect Nick Wright for believing so much in Trevor Lawrence and why I also haven't abandoned Trevor Lawrence I might not be as high on him as Trevor Lawrence mainly because I don't believe in what the Jaguars will be able to do to support him so I think he'll still kind of have this kind of like good bad good bad type of vibe to him but it's not just on concrete numbers and so I'm excited I I said this now months ago that Justin Herbert is going to be the perfect because I'm always preaching the importance of coaching me and Travis O'Shea JCT slice and a couple others in the comments always talk about coaching coaching coaching coaching coaching coaching matters it's coaching coaching coaching and a lot of fans a lot of people they just they don't understand the importance of coaching and I think a part of it is is because they either were good players themselves or they were never players and they still see themselves as players in their eyes in their mind in their fantasies and their Daydreams and so they're just really looking at it through and I think when you're a player and you mature and grow and especially once you're past your Prime and you're done or retired whatever it may be whether you played competitively like at the NFL level or just even High School varsity whatever it may be as you get older you start to understand the importance of coaching you realize yeah when you reflect back on your own career and your own past experience you're like wow when I had this coach I was really supported things really clicked I was significantly better I got better every single day when I had this coach it was a grind it was awful I was going backwards we couldn't get the job done he was a terrible leader you really realize how important coaching is and it's something that I try to convey all the time in these videos I feel like I'm a broken record but I'm constantly trying to say coaching matters coaching matters coaching matters and sometimes it lands and sometimes it falls on DEA ears what are you going to do but Justin Herbert and Harbaugh that will be the perfect example of how important how important coaching is whenever we're talking about some other new quarterback coming up or whatever it may be we will be able to point to remember Justin Herbert remember how amazing he looked when he had Shane Sten and then when Shane Sten left he wasn't so good people started burying him and then he finally got Hardball and now he's a top quarterback in the NFL winning two Super Bowls that's what coaching matters it's going to be a beautiful example I can't wait to keep using that and I can't wait to say I told you guys this years ago remember back in 2023 when I told you this you can look it up hopefully I get that chance but those are just my thoughts I would absolutely love to hear yours what do you guys all think do you think harball will lead LA to a playoff run with Justin Herbert and how do you think Justin Herbert and Harbaugh like how quick do you think they'll be able to kind of connect and write this ship will they be able to do it this season or it'll take another season and not until next let me know in the comments below I read every single comment it's whether you agree with me or disagree with me either way let's get in some discussions let's get in some fights but ultimately let's just have some fun and please do consider
