why don't the Greek gods use social media because they can't handle the [Laughter] [Music] followers Mortals I made you cowos on Netflix is like if Greek mythology had a wild night out and woke up in the 21st century with a hangover and a Twitter account created by Charlie Koval the genius behind the end of the [ __ ] world this series features the legendary Jeff Goldblum as Zeus but hold on to your lightning bolts because this Zeus is more neurotic and self- serving than your average God think of him as the ultimate Divine Diva Jeff Goldblum delivers a performance that is exactly as expected whether that's lazy or genius is up for interpretation one thing's for sure he Nails the self-important hubristic nature of the king of the Gods it's like watching Goldblum play Goldblum but with more Thunderbolts the show is a delightful mashup of ancient myths and modern abilities with a Sprinkle of political satire for good measure it's like if the gods had to deal with today's problems imagine Zeus trying to understand Tik to Trends or herar a navigating online dating chaos gets so much right in terms of casting character pacing and tone that it's a feast For The Senses from design to Art Direction costumes to music choices they've reimagined the lives of these archetypal gods and creatures in the most intriguing ways it's like a Greek myth buffet and you're invited to Gorge yourself the ensemble cast is nothing short of divine Jeff Goldblum leads the charge as Zeus with Janet mctier Cliff Curtis Aurora Perino and naban rzan bringing their aame and let's not forget the talented missia Butler Selena Jones and Sheila Ami who add their unique flare to this mythological Mayhem Greek myth enthusiasts will undoubtedly spend the eight episod smugly pointing out references while newcomers might feel like they're playing a game of who's that God but fear not it's an entertaining soapi and surreal series that dances with the gods wrath be damned just remember if Zeus shows up with a lightning bolt duck visually caos is a feast for the eyes blending modern and ancient Aesthetics to create a world that's both unique and immersive the costume design and special effects are topnotch making even the god look like they just stepped out of a high fashioned magazine while the series has an intriguing premise and a stellar cast it's received mixed reviews some critics love its bold take on mythology and dark humor While others think the storyline is as bulky as Zeus ego and the characters as tiresome as a never-ending Greek tragedy the show dives into themes of power greed and The Human Condition but some feel it struggles to keep the audience hooked through all eight episodes [Music] if you enjoy mythological stories with a modern twist and don't mind a bit of dark comedy cowos might be worth a watch it's like Game of Thrones meets the office but with more tus and fewer dragons have you seen any other shows that reimagine classic myths or Legends let me know in the comments and if you enjoyed this review hit the like button and subscribe to the channel Zeus commands it [Music] why would you think that that's funny [Music] [Applause]
