[Music] guide dogs this video features blind footballer dan talking to camera walking with his guide dog topsy and training with his team we show dan and topsy walk onto the pitch dan ties up his shoes pulls up his socks and puts on a blindfold dan and the team play football in a training session dan speaks direct to camera hi my name is dan i play football for the england and great britain blind football team and i also play for the royal national college for the blind and this here is my guide dog topsy close-up of a black labrador topsy topsy will help me get here and from the local venue which i train out in harriford and then when i go away to national camps at george's park um i'll get the treatment autopsy i've been playing football for the england team for 10 years i was at college and i got scouted by the ex-manager jumbo one of my greatest achievements has been in london 2012. we have come second and third in europe so we've got silver and bronze medals silver medal in the world blind games we show a screen grab of an article and a tweet referencing dan's scoring so there's different types of uh vision player football you've got blind football which is what i play and that's where all the outfield players are completely blind and then you've got powershot football which is where people who've got some visual impairment from blind football we use a ball that makes a sound so when it rolls it makes a rattle type noise dan dribbles the football across the pitch we also have a keeper that can see then we also have a guide behind the far goal when we're going to attack the goal and he gives instructions and feedback to us then we have a manager on the halfway line who will give also give instructions and tactical information out dan and the players are tackling each other going in to tackle each other we see the word voy which i believe is a spanish word and it means i'm going basically i lost the sight in my left eye when i was seven and they set me right iron was nine so i've been completely blind since the age of nine sports massive i think for me it gives me a sense of freedom and i enjoy it i play because i love the game and the sense of achievement i get when i do something right or the team wins a game sport isn't just about being at the elite level it comes from a grassroots but it's not just about playing there's many skills you can get from playing a sport and they're transferable so you can apply them in your everyday life i think sometimes you're taking that step even though it's really scary to do it's a great step and it's one that's going to affect you not just in your sport and career but in your life and it will make you more independent and give you more confidence if you just take that little bit of a risk we end with the guide dogs logo [Music]
