we talk about complimentary plays right complimentary plays so we we are a big Team all right we throw a lot of those deep crosses all right we throw a lot of some form or another these guys running across the field versus manto man all right so a complimentary play to that is the thumb concept all right where we are tagging the thumb route Runner okay where if we were running spear this x would be running the post this tight end would be running the Deep cross and this Z would be running a dig cut right there right well the change up for us is okay we're g to call thumb he's gonna sell the over route this x now is the post route Runner now he's GNA put his foot in the ground at 10 and come back out and now the X who was the post route runner on spear now he's the in Cut On The Backs side all right and then our running back gets himself to the flat so if you paint a picture here same thing we do on all of our play passes one two to three three level stretch okay we may do it out of a different set I just put this on here just there's a lot of variables we can get to there's my outside post who's one there's my thumb route he's two and there's my back in the flat he's three so again I'm creating a three-level stretch to that side so for the quarterback big deal big deal for us when we play pass the majority of what we do is trying to create a three-level stretch to attack people to one side of the field okay but it should be complimentary it should look like that that and that okay so are they running spear are they running thumb are they running goo an RPO right all those things need to carry themselves together right so the plays look the same to the defense and we're not tipping any indicators of what's coming next okay so let's take a look at a couple of these so the first one here is that clip I was just talking about there's my inside post there's my big post here's my slot selling that spear coming back out of it and my back's going to end up in some capacity to the flat remember he's going to be one he's going to be two my back is going to end up being three three level stretch so there's the play pass all right there's a nice job on the release all right again I gotta make this guy feel that I'm getting ready to run that route and I'm trying to beat him across the field so really good job of slipping him right there and the majority of people what they try to do when guys go to run this they try to undercut it okay so now I can come back out of this thing sell the over come back to the thumb and create a positive play and explosive play down the field and if I pause it there's one there's two there's three and everyone's gonna say why didn't he throw it to the back he's wide open remember we don't we don't adjust our reads he is always one he is always two he is always three so he's not going to pass up two to get to three hopefully that's why our guys play fast okay so pretty clean look right there okay another shot of it here okay okay now we're just motioning to the same thing okay all right now we lose our back in protection which is good I mean hey it happens he's got to protect I get it it's all part of it right but again there goes the first post there's my second post here comes my thumb route so we lose the third level but we still have one and two and there's the throw okay I like the I like the fact right here he goes to lean and sell that over to buy himself a little time let the post air itself out and now I go take that shot down the field okay good look there we got about five more minutes coach okay okay we finish this cut up up all right so again window dressing window dressing so now okay so now we're going to take this receiver and now we are going to orbit motion which we do a lot of right and potential to spit this ball out right here with a blocker and advantageous throw right now we're going to play past this okay and now another good look from a condensed split there goes my post there's my thumb and my back's gonna end up finding himself out in the flat one to two to three okay and again on the back side now you're going to see the in Cut coming back into his vision right here all right so I love freezing these things for the quarterback so that they can see the three level stretch that we've created and we've cut the field in half good look right there okay and then last one here okay again different motion now we're going to do it with two receivers and we're going to switch release it just like we were switch releasing that spear route we switch release and now bring him back out at the top so whatever you're doing for that game the same things apply he's taken two there's number so there's one here's two there's three the post ends up taking both EBS now I'm reading it top down pretty clean look right there okay just another shot I love it versus man this is a great look versus man it's not so much the concept I just like him selling the route right his job is to get open selling that deep cross putting his foot in the ground and coming back out of that thing okay so a little different combination on the back side but same idea of creating that three-level stretch that we're trying to get done
