pick the games against the spreads it's good to good to be back with him yeah football is back um and uh we've got uh Robbie Robbie lastilla uh from the FAU beat writer um is going to join us and we're going to talk about this uh Florida Atlantic team and what to expect and what Michigan State can expect as well here in will Florida Atlantic cover the spread we'll get a sense we need to know we need to know that before we talk with Harry and give our Pi they have enough Firepower to Maybe cover the over I don't know yep and the uh the first week of the uh couch in the r pick them contest is back it's back did last year's winner get their gift yet I believe most of them have if not any other yeah yeah it's couch in the RO it's not been our best uh our best deal um please let us know we'll figure something out before we get to Robbie here quickly I just want to get into the uh the great film the documentary the um likely osar winning uh documentary that was the Connor stallions hard hitting apparently yeah you know so the best thing this thing had going for it in terms of being a documentary which it was not we have to stop calling things that aren't documentaries documentaries I know a lot of things have agendas now or they're pushed out by the subject who has some level in the the the producing um but in terms of like journalism this was largely a fail largely a fail it lacked follow-up questions at a lot of turns it glossed over things you know when Conor sallans didn't take accountability for uh being on the sidelines at Michigan State against Central Michigan which is weird I don't I mean I understand there's an NCAA investigation but it sort of discredits a lot of other things cuz he was on the sidelines like I have a source who can tell he was on the sidelines there's no that that's indisputable evidence he was on the sidelines people even you know I think I have a source Dave pornoy Dave pornoy said it you know the NCAA is is arrived to that conclusion he was on the sidelines that's period that's without question the best thing this thing had going though is Tony Paul being at the beginning opening with him from the Detroit news and weaving him throughout the documentary because he is an actual true journalist who doesn't give two shits about Michigan doesn't give two shits about Michigan State about Central Michigan about anybody about Connor stallions his goal is to tell the story and he's a true true journalist right he is a go after it get it and um so that was that was helpful to have him um you know it doesn't the rest of it just it it you know I'm not saying it wasn't entertaining but it was sort of an infomercial for stallions a lot of it um I don't know how much he got paid to do it that's part of the problem one of the problems with paying sources paying interviewers paying for this sort of uh you know film Memoir is that it takes away The credibility when when somebody's I'm guessing he was paid for this that's why you don't do it because it takes away your credibility and you tend not to you tend to come to an agreement where you don't ask certain questions you don't follow things up like where was any questions of people you talk about there's this conversation about Michigan State playing Michigan and all these guys saying they didn't want to be out there um you know just a lot of arrows at Michigan State even though this is about somebody else's cheating and there's no you don't reach out to the other guy you don't interview the other person and if they don't want to speak you say so you don't reach out to Central Michigan and if they don't want to speak you don't say like that sort of when you're telling a story that has to be there there has to be the follow-up questions there has to be the other side of things and this lacked that like this would never be printed in any reputable newspaper any documentary that won any award this wouldn't qualify cuz it's not a documentary it doesn't even fit that category to me it's it's you know it's like the first time I found out that house hunters wasn't real on HGTV it blew my mind and it pissed me off because i' had been following it religiously thinking this is really cool and I think it's awesome that all these School teachers in Vancouver make 36,000 a year can afford $800,000 homes I want to live in Vancouver I want this to be my life th this you know this is not a I'm not saying this is fake to the level of house hunters but it's which by the way is fake if you didn't know that it sucks it is fake they don't have real houses or well what you do is you already have decided on the house that you want I think you've already purchased it and then they have you look at to other house the whole thing sort of made up one of them is your actual house but it's not like you're still choosing in fact one believe uh Shir McDonald the um Michigan State softball coach was on one of these shows or was about to be on one of these show I can't remember what I wrote yeah yeah she I mean yeah it's all it's all fake was about to be one of these shows I believe um nonetheless it you know is what it was it's not not entertaining to watch um it's interesting to listen to Conor stallion you do get a sense that he played a big role in Michigan's Rise um and that a lot of it was done within the rules and he was just really good at it but there was also I mean you know a lot of evidence of cheating that's not really not really flushed out fully in this documentary because there were rules that were broken we'll you know we'll never know to what degree that impacted their ability his ability to decipher signs and how that impacted Michigan's winning they were a great football team last year there's no question about nobody's questioned that they would not Michigan state was not going to be competitive in that game regardless but if you're going to take shots at Michigan State if you're going to allow people to say you know little brother this and and they didn't even want to be out there and questioning whether they want to play the game which least speak to the other side about why that mattered the Integrity of things what they were worried about like speak to the other side that's it's just it failed to do a lot of things and um that's not surprising because Netflix doesn't really do many documentaries most of the stuff has pushed out half sort of documentary style the Urban Meyer one I mean can they label these like it's going to lean one way it's yeah it's propaganda some I don't want to watch it I mean thankfully I lost last night it had no choice but to not watch it but now that I hear your review and others review I mean I've heard Clips on Drew Lane show as podcast and that was enough for me I don't know what else I need to find out I mean if there's going to be no real honesty in the thing yeah just I don't I have no interest like an hour though at some one point I wanted to maybe go into telling documentaries I was a broadcast major in college I liked doing some of that long form stuff um did one on a night we spent with a couple homeless guys which was pretty cool and uh where's that video uh the video it's not bad except no where is it right now put this show and go get it I can get that video we we can we can we can put that video out there because I had homeless people because I had a really talented television major who was still a buddy of mine who uh helped me do it so he was fantastic I was basically the the I did the interviewing and and I was the muscle you didn't push any homeless guys down downstairs we followed these two guys around one robbed the other one was drunk and pissed his pants in the South Loop one night it was it was scary it was sad it was it was it was what it was um I didn't really tell that whole story well where is this video story we're telling presented by Midtown BR let's have a viewing party for this anyway I yeah I I still have the video it's in a box in the basement it's one of the many things I will never get rid of even if my wife wants me to um so but is somebody who wanted to [ __ ] the plug fell out of that um but it's somebody who wanted to tell those stories like there's natural curios and there should be a natural journalism instinct to ask a followup to not let people just stand on things that beg for a follow-up question and this did that and I think if you're producing these documentaries that's got to suck either you don't have that inclination or it's got to suck to know you're producing something that really lacks even if it's entertaining all right let's uh let's get to our friend Robbie here uh you know and talks some FIU Michigan State uh we'll do a Twitter question show Thursday this week because of the Friday game so you want to talk more about this uh this this this film uh we can we can do that uh then um yeah it I'm pretty excited to start talking actual football um and uh before we get to that again front 43 and casin Company awesome place to watch the game this weekend to watch games any weekend as the NFL season starts it was a bye-week for Michigan State football in 2018 sitting there with M menarini uh losing money I think on like Missouri Purdue in September where I realized front 43 and asking company was a perfect fit for our show terms of the The Experience watching games and just the beer options and the vibe uh I think you'll feel the same way it's just north of Frandor on East Sagen and Lancing um again Casen company.com uh for a reservation uh the OG of couch and the rub sponsors very pleased now to be joined by Robbie lastilla uh Florida Atlantic beat writer for bleacher brother did I pronounce your name right there Robbie yes sir you did thank you for having me on how's it going I'm doing well thanks for taking some time appreciate it um want to get a a sense of this Florida Atlantic team I I've I've read some of your stuff I've read previews and and tried to get a sense of what this group is it feels like uh a team in the middle of a rebuild that's tried to expedite that by using the transfer portal and and has some some some seasoned guys there what what is your uh would be your takeaway of what this team and program is right now yeah it's definitely uh a team that's trying trying to wipe the old culture out uh of the previous regime um you know you can't really do that you could try to do that in year one which Herman uh did but you know this this off season was really about Tom Herman getting his guys in there the people that he's able to coach and and buy in the way that he wants them to uh and that and I think that's what we've seen this off season with FAU um you know they went out they they brought in a bunch of pieces across the board offensively and Def defensively who they believe can contrib right away um and so what what this season really is going to come down to for fa is kind of establishing that that culture that Herman wants to to establish I mean he's come from winning programs Ohio State then Houston and then Texas where he had success but the the levels there are just insane uh and and so you know he wants last year was the first year he uh never made a bowl game as a head coach so winning is a part of of Tom Herman and the culture of his football teams are very important so this season is kind of about establishing that and and putting the program in a positive direction if if they're going to come in East Lancing and be competitive and we don't know what Michigan state is frankly I mean that's the other thing 61 new players for MSU and uh 18 year old quarterback you know I mean it it new coach and like there so knowing what it'll take to compete is is a could be a moving Target a little bit here but if they're going to come in East laning and compete what what has to happen I mean they've got a new quarterback with some experience had modest success here and there uh at Marshall seems like they've got some receivers with speed uh some decent backs like what what has to happen yeah so in terms of this game defensively I I believe they're up to the task of at least slowing down Aiden Charles what I'm looking for is the offense to establish themselves without lante Wester who was a major focal point in this offense last season caught over 150 targets uh and he's departed to Colorado and so in this in this game for FAU to to compete offensively and stay in it I want to see them establish a a a playmaker at the receiver position that's something that hasn't happen throughout the fall Camp you know we hear Tom Herman talking about the depth at the position and that he you know he he feels comfortable rotating guys in and that you know who's ever open is going to be his guy uh but Tom Herman's offenses always have had that explosive player that playmaker that they kind of look to and so in this one for FAU to be successful that playmaker is going to have to make themselves known whether it's Caleb kums who came over from Marshall with Cam saner whether it's EJ Horton who transferred him from Western uh West Virginia or or whether it's a guy like Jon Platt who who's been on this roster now for a couple years and is finally potentially in a starting role so I want to see fau's offense establish a a an explosive side to it a number one target receiving wise but outside of that I really just want to see cam fer be comfortable not look uh scared of the moment that's not real that's from everything we've heard that's that's the last part of Cam Fant he's very poised uh but still it's the first game place will probably have 75,000 people stripe out everything that goes into a good Michigan State atmosphere so Cam's gonna have to push that aside and be able to run the offense the way he wants to but if he's able to execute the RPO game if he's able to get the running backs involved both running and in the pass game and if he's able to establish a connection with a wide receiver in that in the early part of the game I think that'll help FAU kind of stay in it offensively and the defense uh is is the strength of this team and so they'll they'll rely on the defense but if the offense is able to match and and put up some points that's kind of what FAU will need to do to stay in the game having covered the other side of this this sort of match up before when I I used to cover Western Michigan back in the day we joke about it in the show cuz I say it all the time but um I you I've seen sort of the formula for this sort of upset and you talk about a playmaker and it usually involves that right it it with Western Michigan back in the day it was it was Greg Jennings or whoever it was so on and so forth a wi out who it doesn't matter who's A Difference Maker doesn't really matter the competition they can get theirs a coaching staff that knows how to move them around uh you know you utilize them and and and and I think they have that staff if if there is a guy that's going to be that on the offense for uh FAU who is it I'm looking at two guys at the wide receiver position I'm looking I mentioned them EJ Horton or Caleb kums both uh so EJ started at uh Marshall in 2022 and transferred to West Virginia last season believe he was the third or fourth wide receiver had a couple hundred yards and a couple touchdowns at West Virginia last year and Caleb kums has been camp F's roommate at Marshall uh the past three years he comes over with him um kums is a guy who can who can play both outside and in the slot with the slot probably being where we'll see a majority of his snaps EJ Horton's a guy who can go on the outside we saw him in the scrimmages with faner have that deep ball connection something he didn't really have with a lot of guys FAU in their their fall scrimmages didn't really stretch the field too much we saw a lot of the Run game the the option the RPO but the Limited deep threats we saw a lot of it was to EJ Horton uh and so that and he's he's played he played at West Virginia so he's familiar with the I you know the upper echelon of talent like people like to say is is at those P4 level so he's familiar with that knows everything that goes into the environment so that's a guy who who I might look towards if I was cam cancer as a guy to possibly Target and I think FAU will as well um just because he's he's has that connection with thanta having played at Marshall he's been in the big environments before and he also has had that success with him since coming to FAU so EJ Horton or Caleb kums are probably two names I'd keep an eye out on uh Zeke Moore at tight end was reliable in the red zone for FAU last year has been banged up a little bit in Camp uh but if uh if FAU gets down to the Red Zone Zeke Moore is definitely a playmaker down there uh but outside of that I would I would lean towards either Caleb Kum or EJ Horton the defense you've talked about is the strength and for it's the front seven correct are probably the strength of of the defense or the least amount of questions there what if if if this defense is going to be at a level that can can slow Michigan State and and uh cause them problems who are we looking at yeah so the defensive line is definitely improved from last year I mean they lose Evan Anderson big 300 pound interior defensive lineman he's currently on the 49ers uh so that's a tough that's a tough ass to replace uh in the off season they go out and they do it they bring in Bryce Langston from LSU they bring in Devonte Davis from Jackson State they bring in Prince Boyd from Purdue those are three names that should all start on the interior alongside Jaden wheeler and Jacob Maryfield who return so FAU uh I I heard Jonathan Smith talking about his uh ability to rotate on the interior I think that was like a carbon copy of what rock Benton talks about uh with FAU and their interior defensive line rotation uh in that interior is going to be huge getting fresh finding different ways to pressure tries stop the run game which I know Michigan State struggled with last year but I just have a feeling that's going to be you know something they look to get back to early on in this season uh but outside of the defensive line uh off the edge I guess you know wilky Denard uh comes over from Auburn he's a he's a force didn't get to play in his freshman year at Auburn he comes back to Florida he's from the area um and he looks to be an impact off the edge along with Chris Jones and Marlin Bradley who was were on the team last year off the edge uh but really with FAU what I've liked in the off season was their additions in the defensive back room at corner at boundary Corner uh they already had Day Day Hill who was on Bruce felman's freak list he's a really good athlete he's consistently improved his coverage over the past couple years as well so he starts outside and then opposite him they bring in a 6' three boundary corner from Maine and kazir bugs Brown um he's a guy who's really stood out to me in Camp uh as a guy he he I I I don't know how he lasted at Maine for four years I'm not too short he's got a ton of talent he's six foot three on the outside he's been he's been really solid uh in terms of matching up against a he's matched up against running backs he's matched up against receivers and tight ends he's he's very diverse in his coverage ability uh and FAU has that on the outside opposite DayDay Hill and then at the safety position they bring in Phil Dunham who's familiar with the Big 10 started at Indiana last year was a big contributor uh in that defense for them and then they also they bring back Jaden Williams who's a captain on this defense he's played every position in that D DB group he started at boundary Corner moved to the slot and now he's at safety and then they also have a freshman who in CJ herd who was the only nonp Power member of the 247 uh freshman All-American defense list uh CJ comes from Georgia uh picked FAU over over a couple big schools um and so between him Phil Dunham and Jaden Williams those are a ball Hawking Trio back there in the safety unit uh we'll see CJ rotate in a little bit in this game um but with with Jaden and Phil kind of being those anchors but the DB room for FAU now has size it has speed it has experience um and I think that will help them try to slow down this Michigan State offense but I think it's it's really going to come down to the linebackers uh which is the biggest strength of this this this defense is because there was no additions they bring back Jackson Ambush they bring back Desmond tisdel uh they bring back Eddie Williams and Jared Gerald who were the core there uh at Mike and will linebacker and so trying to slow down Aiden Charles and and and everything he does outside of the pocket with his legs is going to be important uh and I think that's probably the first step uh if Aiden Charles is able to beat them as a passer with uh with an unknown wide receiver core at Michigan State I think that just shows how good Aiden Charles would be but I think fau's first step to kind of slowing that that that offense down is the linebacker group and kind of just disrupting Aiden child when he rolls out tries to rush uh but the defense has improved as as a whole so it'll it'll be interesting to see kind of how FAU goes about trying to slow him down whether it's blitzes disguising coverages whatever they do uh but I think it starts with the linebackers what's your uh what's your prediction for Friday prediction oh okay so I I am I I Stray away from these but since you asked I will I'll give it a go here um I believe the line the last time I checked was was 13 and a half um I I can see fa you covering that I think I but I can also see michig Michigan State coming out with a really explosive offense uh trying to make a statement in this one so I am going to say I'll I will take Michigan State in this matchup I'll take them 3420 but I think it will be a close game in the first half and I think in the second half Jonathan Smith fires up uh his Spartans and then he just pull it out but I think Tom Herman and and Company are going to come into this one fired up as well um and I think and I think they look to make this one competitive uh Tom Herman they played the Illinois last year he's had that experience in the Big 10 uh and I just think there's something about coming back to to that region where he uh where he gets a little more fired up he mentioned the atmosphere and everything that goes into it is something he remembers so I think FAU does come out hot in this one but uh Michigan State may may come out in that second half a little bit hotter but we'll see Robbie I appreciate it I will get you a breakfast recommendation for East Lancing and look forward to uh seeing you in the Press Box safe travels my man thank you I appreciate it Graham and have a good one you too that's Robbie lastilla um covers FAU and uh I love the gram Stout Tim Stout impression from Robbie line is uh uh I could see that game going one way the other somewhere Tim Stout there's just a tear rolling down his cheek of how that kid just did that that was unbelievable first he goes full like Jim comparon with like every player and then he does the prediction I don't usually do these but for you since you asked I will but it could go either way you have to meet Robbie in the Press boot absolutely oh absolutely that was great yeah no it's uh you know what it wouldn't surp when he did that I'm like oh [ __ ] this kid's a legend yeah it dude what if he looks like Stout though and you show up he's wearing khakis and like an ascot or something that would be amazing it it will be an interesting group to mean they are heavy in the transfer portal and um you know we'll see what they are um on the back and defensively if they have off yeah nope last time he was in East Lancing it was JT Barrett and Ohio State scoring 49 points in 2014 so I mean he obviously is a a great offensive mind we'll see where the program is uh at this point I you know I'm just glad there's football I I think I had 3423 33 24 I had about a 10-point game 3323 I think it was my prediction the went up today yeah I'm not feeling more confident about Michigan State covering the spread that is after that interview but I know still some of the week left if you got it early too like it it was 11 and a half for a long time yeah and so if it's at like 13 and half 14 I think now in most books yeah so if you know if you didn't get it early I I can't tell you if it gets above two touchdowns I probably wouldn't mess with it um teaser yeah it's a great that's where it at it's a great teaser but we will uh we will get into all those picks uh Michigan State and everything else going on in week one uh as we welcome back the great Harry gagnan hear the voice the the moment is here Harry gagnan welcome my man it's been too long guys I that that never gets old that never gets old right never gets old the heavy breathing yeah the heavy breathing never get breathing too right exactly yeah no doubt oh it is so it is so good so good to have you here um football is football is back Harry and uh and uh yeah know I've been uh been listening you uh with cousin s and and uh uh you just just to get my fix you know because I haven't heard you every week here and it's it's been sad um all right let's well before we get into this week's games is there anything from a season wins Total or anything else that you're looking at that you're really excited about getting into the season before we look at the individual games you know I really my best I was telling Jay my best overall over under for the season I'm going to go sec I'm going Old Miss over nine and a half first off the rebels have hit 10 wins twice in the last three seasons uh this may be Lane kein best team he's had in Oxford senior quarterback Jake Jackson Dart continues to improve every year he had over 30 touchdown passes and rushing rushing touchdowns combined last year wide receiver straight Thomas and Jordan Watkins had over 100 receptions and 1500 yards combined their back plus on defense senior safety Trey Washington led the team in tackles and defensive end Jared Ivy Leto missing sacks those guys in the back schedule wise the toughest non-conference game out of four they have is versus Wake Forest who won four games a season to go they don't have to play A&M B Tennessee Missouri uh on all those teams win total are at least at eight and a half they escape all those teams I'm gonna go over nine and a half from Mississippi I think they have a huge year and I think they actually make it to the playoff for the 12 teams yo if they get to 10 wins they'll be there that's that's a that's a beautiful play um and I love the Old Miss pick because I love Lane kein but I feel like Lane kein has lost me some money in the past so you're saying trust him this year right Harry well you know what's funny about that like when you know when he would I always thought that you know who is this guy he got all these gigs and all these jobs because of his father and you know what as he went you know as he as he's transformed into a pretty good coach you know FAU and then moving on here into Old Miss he's he's got he just seems like and he doesn't back off from anybody he'll go up head-to-head against anybody in terms of trash talking and whatever he does I've all of a sudden I've I've changed I love this guy and I'm gonna love this team if you and he loves G you know he always likes to run up the score so if you're a gambler trying to cover that spread lands your guy right I mean he once got once got fired on a on airplane well and here's one more one more element is I think Lane may be looking for one more move like uh one more big opportunity somewhere not not that you can't win at all Miss but I think there's another I think Lane's got another blue blood in him so to speak and so I think Lane wants you know you got to have a good season for that opportunity to be there but it seems like he also might have a firing coming his way soon too he's like that kind of guy well that's who Lane is Right could go could go either way it could go either way yeah um all right well Harry let's let let's jump into the game games for this weekend um let's start with the uh let's start with the before we we'll do MSU Fu we'll do sort of in order second but I want to go with the game that's that's first the Thursday night game so people have something to bet that Thursday otherwise I would not be betting on this game North Carolina minus two at Minnesota really hard game to read obviously North Carolina's had a lot of turnover new quarterback all that stuff Minnesota there's sort of this perception that they're on the decline it's in it's in Minnesota North Carolina two point favorite um you know I North Carolina won this game a year ago I would for the purposes of this I'm going to take Minnesota at home and I'm going to believe a little bit that PJ flex's not going to let that thing fall off entirely uh he's you know got a new defensive coordinator but the guy's you know an experienced guy I mean what I'll probably wind up doing with this game however is live betting it cuz I feel like I'll have a better feel for it after the first couple drives but for for the sake of this I'm I'm taking min getting a couple points at home Jason where are you yeah I don't know if I need to see a couple drives thankfully this is on Thursday when there's nothing pretty much else to gamble on because it would be a fade but give me North Carolina what you got here yeah a lot of turnover here for both teams Drake May is now in New England H they're a small favorite on the road here tough one like you said Graham to figure out here but I'm going to jump on with Jay I'm G to lay the point here I'm going to bank on Omarian Hampton of North Carolina he returns at least for the tar he guy had 1500 yards last year he AED six yards a carry 15 touchdowns um you know Minnesota last year didn't have a wide receiver running back to hit 900 yards I just don't think uh overall they'll be able to get it done on offense going a bank on Hampton here in the running game in North Carolina I'm going to lay the small numberers all right Michigan State minus 14 now the line has moved up quite a bit since its original it came out at 11 it sat at 11 and2 for a long time it was 13 and half a while now it's 14 uh versus FAU um you know we just had a a writer on that covers FAU you know you can you know they've got a number of transfers you can see where there's some talent in the program they've got a coach who knows how to work an offense you got a Michigan State team with a ton of questions themselves um I don't feel I don't feel comfortable either way on this one um but uh I I I I picked based on my score pick FAU would cover this I have it like a 10-point game um so I'll stick with that for here this is not a game like as Jason brought up this is a great teaser game to me if you want money on MSU you know get my you know take this down to seven and put it in a teaser with something else and we can figure that out later but that that to me would be a better way to play this and have some money on MSU or throw it in a parlay like minus 500 is a money line I think MSU does win this game uh Jason where are you yeah 14 points seems like a lot of lumber boys I mean Tom Herman Tom Herman offense I just don't know what Michigan State's defense is going to be I just can't lay two touchdowns I like this I like this when it opened obviously 11 but I either an alternate line or a teas Harry but I like Michigan State to win the game but two TDS give me Florida Atlantic what you got wow huh well I'm gonna you know I wasn't great with you guys taking Michigan State games last year but I'm going to lay the 14 here three straight openers for Michigan State they won all of them by 17 or more the FAU quarterback from last year uh Richardson transferred to Florida A&M and the leading receiver transferred uh out to Boulder to play with Dion he had 12200 yards and8 touchdowns last year so uh some missing pieces for FAU I I say Michigan State wins by 17 all right Harry's on Michigan say more faith than us and sometimes you're just too close to it it that could absolutely happen all right um kind of a fun game this first week there are several of them it's actually a really good week really good week one um Miami minus 2 and a half if Florida sorry yeah we'll go that and then I'll go back to Clemson sorry Miami minus 2 and a half at Florida I I like the canes this year I know Mario chryst ball is not known as the greatest in-game coach I know they horrifically botched a game last year I just think they are from a talent perspective loaded this is a big year for them I don't trust what's going on at Florida at all I'm not scared by two and a half points on the road um I I I like this game a lot um give me Miami minus 2 and A2 against Florida uh Jason where are you interesting you love this game huh I mean I I'm with you I like Miami this year I just crystal ball in this kind of environment I give me give me Miami minus uh minus points what do you got here I know it's gonna be it's a it's a tricky tough year for Billy Napier go to Florida but two and a half I tell you what the over under on Miami this year for wins is nine and a half the over under for the Gators is 4 and a half this line is two and a half this is the fishy line week for me guys I'm going the other way I'm taking the Gators wow yeah that is a little official you think about I mean a road game and and look you love it though I do three and a half is one thing two and a half yeah very interesting yeah no it's look and it's hard to get I mean look how wrong people were the line was what 11 and a half for Florida State against Georgia Tech and if those teams played 10 times I mean that line if you redid it today probably should be three for Florida State I mean now that we know yeah but saying we just don't know a lot of times going going into the week one can be tricky all right Clemson plus 13 a 12 vers Georgia it's a big number for Clemson neutral sight game um I just I I have a sense this year and I think Clemson's really good but I have a sense this year that Georgia is going to be orary kind of like Ohio State they didn't get to the playoff last year um you know as long as they can stay out of the uh headlines for you know racing cars and things like that I I do like Georgia a lot 13 and half is a big number if it feels too big and that's why I'm going to take it and I'm going Georgia with the uh minus 13 uh Jason where are you yeah I just don't know what dabo's going to come up with here so give me uh I like Georgia minus the points what do you got here yeah I'm G to take Georgia to I mean like uh they haven't lost like a regular season game in like three years now um you know it's interesting that we just mentioned Florida State uh they kind of need Florida State based on after that loss kind of need Clemson to win this game against Georgia so when they play Clemson and they beat them it makes them look a little bit better but Florida State's got a lot of work to do obviously as we saw but I'm gonna take still Georgia smart back still too good and I don't understand Theo not using the transfer portal is just killing him it's it's not you got to be able to you got to keep up with the Joneses you know and uh and I don't know if he's doing it so much right now at Clemson I know that's a big number 13 and a half when is Dabo and the Tigers ever gotten that that many points I get it but I'm still going to go with Georgia I still think they're too good all right Fresno State getting uh three touchdowns at Michigan and uh Michigan no Jim Harbaugh no Conor stallions no JJ McCarthy no Blake Corum lost a lot of guys on both sides of the ball now they they had built a good program um Fresno State playing with an interim coach which which which sucks I don't know where that program is going to wind up but but they got a lot of guys back and this is a team that's probably going to be competing you know near the top of their conf I I don't I don't think this is a bad Fresno State football team I just think this is too many points for a Michigan team with a lot of questions against a pretty seasoned roster from Fresno State that that I think will be competitive um like I well let me ask you if Harbaugh were there would you take would you feel the same I would probably still take they lost a lot I would probably still take Fresno if you if you if you still had both the other head both head coaches I would I yeah no I like three touchdowns for me is is too much here and I you know again I could be wrong but uh I I just I I I really like Fresno here I don't I don't I don't think it'll be an upset but three touchdowns is too much for a a better program than Michigan State's faced in these early openers in a while are we scared in week one here or what's going on here going can go each way what do you got I like Fresno I three touchdowns I mean with this offense if hard were the coach last year I would really love this getting three touchdowns because they just drained the clock on you so give me Fresno State getting the three uh touchdowns what do you got Harry yeah I'm with you I'm with you uh look you mentioned like last year I'm well put it this way last three openers for Michigan they've only G the defense was fantastic only gave up three total touchdowns but harb also didn't run the game up in those games when he could have he could have and he didn't this Fresno team last year opened the season on the road in the Big 10 and I know Purdue was down last year but took them down straight up Mikey Keane Returns His quarterback for Fresno he's from uh Chandler Arizona right here in my backyard I'm gonna take the three touchdowns too I think it's too many okay Notre Dame plus three and a half at A&M um is a true Road game I think it is a true Road game um it is I you know I'm not exactly sure what to expect from this Notre Dame team this year am I exactly sure what to expect with A&M I like the Mike Elco hire I I I I think he's he's a good coach it'll bring some sanity to to A&M as much as you can in in that area uh but it the line feels about right here it for two teams we're not exactly sure of you basically got the the home you know home teams getting giving three um I I'm going to go with A&M at home and a rock his crowd and and uh you know but in a game that I wouldn't I this is a fade for me Jason where are you yeah with Marcus Freeman on the road I just yeah this line is too perfect so give me Texas A&M with that crowd what you got Harry boy you know making you know with being three and a half I'm going to lean towards the Irish and I hope they lose the game by three and I get the cover here because the schedule isn't very tough after this game so they really kind of need this one uh A&M's next four games are very winnable um and Notre Dame went out got uh you know harman's gone uh now they get Riley Leonard in the transfer Portal from duke remember he had that big game and beat Clemson last last year um three and a half I know it's in uh in College Station in the crowd and all but I'm still going to take the IR with a three and a half I think that hook could be huge a really interesting game with two teams that I don't know how good they're going to be um LSU versus USC I believe neutral field again here if I'm correct um and LSU minus 4 and A2 uh we're going to learn a lot about LSU uh quarterback situation uh depth of of talent as Brian Kelly gets to year three their USC where they are as a program you know and and their defense and some issues and and replacing Caleb Williams I got um I I kind of like LSU here I think they're probably the more season program better Talent throughout the roster um and and I'll probably put a little bit on them Jason where are you man the four and a half I I I just don't know what Brian Kell like you said what he's going to bring so give me USC getting that four and a half it's just a big number so what you got here oh this is the uh for me this is the overrated coach bow right Brian Kelly Lincoln Riley what have you done lately I mean Brian Kelly's defense at LSU last year was the worst I could recall LSU ever having and what's Lincoln Riley ever done but I don't know what you know mentioned the schemes in Vegas neutral field I don't know how to call this one so what I'm going to do is just I'm going to take the points I'm going to take the four and a half USC's closer to Vegas and that you maybe have some more fans there uh hopefully this is a good game um at a legion Stadium uh I don't know I don't like it at all so I'll take the four and a half all right um yeah no it's some of these games are just so hard week one I mean it's just try week zero well yeah week zero but now with all the the roster movement and everything like that it gets even harder and harder I mean what what's the the stat day was something like 60 hold on let me uh let me hold on oh my God some off give the middle of this with Harry on I know I apologize yeah yeah yeah um go Lions restore the roar iGun Jared go okay this is interesting set Ross delinger the 68 power Conference teams are starting 43 transfer quarterbacks 63% of the power Conference teams have an transfer quarterback I mean that's that's an incredible number in terms of trying to figure out what's what and some of these guys uh as we found out you uh Florida State just and that's our next and final game here not that good and and we knew that about dju right at Florida State just average and and that's the thing you're going to have to be careful of with these guys who are bouncing around who the NFL doesn't want who the NFL is never going to want that there's a ceiling there and if you're ceiling if you what you want as a national title and to be in the playoff you got to be a little careful with that that final game a game of of of some significance to Michigan State fans Boston College plus 16 at Florida State because Michigan State plays at Boston College in a few weeks we'll get a good feel for them Florida State trying to bounce back from a tough outing and and sort of be make fun of at uh after the loss to a good Georgia Tech Team I Boston College could be a middle of the road team in the ACC and could be okay and and Florida State you know might not be and in that case you should absolutely be on Boston College here I think Florida state will show up warnery and and looking to make a statement I just don't know how easy it is to do with the quarterback they have I don't know if he's a cover the spread type guy and that's that to me until I see him do that if I had I again there's a Georgia Tech or sorry Boston College new head coach good hire in Bill O'Brien uh I like some of the roster all that stuff but um I'm going to take them here just cuz I what we saw with FLA State and I don't believe in that offense in their ability to run away in a game like this Jason where are you yeah like you said Bill O'Brien plus the point I mean this opened at what 23 right and now it's down to what 16 and a hook I just I just don't know what that crowd is going to be like in Tallahassee Harry and I just that's a lot of points to me so give me that Lumber what do you got I'm gonna I'm gonna reluctantly I'm going to take uh Florida State look I can't stand Bill O'Brien I think he's overrated another coach that's been overrated his entire career just that's how I feel especially when he was with the Texans um could have done a lot of different things there and could have been a lot better but anyways um I think it just I don't know bounceback game for FSU uh norvell's really turned this team around I know that was bad last week losing there dju uh a lot of those passes were underthrown I get it I know what you guys are saying but only one week back home turn it around dju has a bigger game makes those throws this week I think I think they cover I don't love it but I'm going to lay the points how about the panic in Florida State if they were to lose this game like what that oh my God I can't even imagine the season just for entertainment value I may actually uh I may root for that and partly because here's the team like walking around talking about they need to leave the ACC and they can't even beat Georgia Tech who I think's right now a pretty good program but like I I love that one I love when people get humbled who are walking around like they're too good for something and that's uh that is a um that's where we're at with FSU Harry it is beautiful to have you back uh look forward to hopefully doing this throughout football season and um just your voice alone I'll sleep better tonight so thanks guys uh let's hit something this week right let's go sounds great talk to you soon that's the great Harry gagnan from Against All Odds with cousin sell and the ringer um oh it's good to have him back oh man by the way good to have him back and go I know it could go either way see your your young boys uh of Atlanta as you like to say they won they beat Galatasaray again they're on of the Champions League all right playing the main draw so to speak all right beautiful Tigers win again 12 of the last 15 five straight should be uh fun to watch them what are they 6 and a half out of the wild card now who knows who knows who knows lots of stuff to get into we will do a groovy donut Twitter question show on Thursday so look for that uh tweet uh Wednesday night um
