Collaros’ late touchdown drive leads Winnipeg to victory over Hamilton

alongside Jim Barker Matt dunigan Milt stagel and a huge victory for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers make it three straight wins now in the wild wild west this is so critically important because all of a sudden they're right back in this race and kudos to the Hamilton Tiger Cats defense by the way Chris Jones comes in makes an immediate difference they had three picks in this game but a win is a win for Winnipeg and it was obviously the game-winning Drive orchestrated by Zach karos under two minutes too the veteran got it done melt yeah he he had had to make it happen cuz leading up to that last drive he really didn't play well I think he had just over 100 yards and he had thrown three interceptions but when you're a player of Zach's status a player who's played in big games who's performed in big games won multiple great cups M mops MVPs you find a way to win that's all that mattered this was a gritty performance by this team and it happened with that quarterback right there also Brady Oliva their Allstar running back who I thought wasn't coming back into the game after suffering that thigh injury came back in and allowed this team to have some great carries on that last drive so this was a gritty performance by this team they found a way to win and that's important in my opinion because they know that they needed that momentum going into these next two games against the scat one the Labor Day classic and the banjo Bowl they're trying to overtake them for first place if they would have lost this game I don't think that momentum would have been there yeah you talk about the banjo B uh you talk about um the argonut Hamilton rivalry too on Labor Day both the teams are going to be limping into those games uh and particular particularly Winnipeg because they lost a couple offensive lineman they dressed seven and they and they lose their starting left tackle Allstar pry Allstar uh Stanley Bryant and then Wallace backup he goes in and plays and he gets hurt fairly quickly and uh and it really affected that football team and I I and I I like how the Bell cow for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Brady Olivera answered the bell and and he and he stepped up and he delivered late cuz that offensive line was really struggling trying to protect Zack but like you said he got it done down the stretch and uh you know Kate you go back to Chris Jones and the effect that he's had in that football team we heard Dwayne talk about it during The Telecast sometimes change just just needed and it shakes guys up that defense played much better inspired football today under his leadership well Winnipeg's fighting back they're trying to get back to where they were good teams win games like this because it was a game they probably shouldn't have won Hamilton played great but they didn't play good enough I I thought that uh Winnipeg got back to playing Bully ball doing the things they do Olivera running for 120 yards and they just seem to control the line of scrimmage but again Hamilton 130 yards for um for Tim White yeah just a a great effort for them I thought they had some hop in their step getting a new coordinator gives you that initial boost now can they carry that into labor day can can Winnipeg take this momentum into labor day boy these are big games these teams are playing come Labor Day well I think the good news was to I mean yeah the numbers aren't off the charts by any stretch of the imagination but it it was good and it was safe and it's enough it's enough to win football games and you got to like that momentum but you're right Labor Day Classics are going to be phenomenal the banjo bll is going to be amazing and then even after Saskatchewan they get back to backs Elks against the Elks so this could be wide open come the beginning of October as we send it back to Sports Center for
