what was different for both of you guys uh as a team between the first half and really that third quarter when you all really started to get going um I think we just started out um more aggressive on both the offensive and defensive that was the difference uh same I mean we came out in the third quarter with some intensity energy so just made it a better game for us offensively and defensively Kai 10 point last game with six rebounds and now your career career high 19 with eight rebounds today what's your confidence level going into this tough Str stretch a big 12 play um I would just say just keeping um that confidence um the coaching staff and my teammates have a lot of confidence in me um to go out there and do those sort of things so JJ when you when you guys get a performance like this from Ka doesn't always have to be 19 points obviously but just the number of ways that she affected the game how different of a team are you how does that kind of elevate you guys maybe to another level I mean yes of course but I mean it's not a surprise we know what Ka can do we know when when she's aggressive she's a great player and that's what she's been bringing for the past couple games and we love it JJ you guys obviously 20th win tonight for the for the team um it ties two other teams for the quickest to 20 for the for a season um has any of this at to this point surprised you I mean because you obviously knew what the expectations were coming in so 20 and two now any of it surprise you at all does it no no I'm not I'm not much very surprised honestly just when we came in like as um during the summer new coaches came in new players came in I just knew it was going to be a good group of girls just based off the chemistry so you think 20 and two though I mean that doesn't uh I mean thanks expect that but like I expected us to do some good stuff this year for sure JJ 21 tonight but you know it only took one three-pointer you caught in stride and you knocked it down can you talk about not forcing the issue from Beyond The Arc and letting the game come to you in that way um yeah I mean that's not really the shot I always look for at first I'm always looking to drive get to my pull up but I'm able to just shoot the three and when I have the have a good shot and I'm wide open I'm going to shoot it with confidence J how are you feeling that sequence the end of the third quarter when you went on a 9-2 run by yourself in I think like a minute minute and a half I didn't I didn't even know I did that honestly but um I don't know just my team helps out a lot just them getting out there getting steals letting us get out into into the Open Court where I'm good at so I give that a lot to them so JJ how much you working on that full court baseball pass d d um honestly it didn't the ball didn't go how I wanted it to but I mean it wasn't a turnover so I'mma take it it worked out yeah JJ there's a lot of number 11 jerseys out there in the crowd now and stuff with nil rules and you know what you can do with that and you know this new mountainer exchange gets launched and that sort of thing but nil at this point in your career is it's pretty cool to see those jerseys out there and that sort of thing the opportunities that might come with that I mean yeah good to get some money out of it but um going talk about that no I'd love seeing it out there I mean if they got the jerseys they go online think they make them themselves or whatever so it's good to see that yeah J One More on on the start you guys have had like I said it ties two other past teams for the quickest to 20 um were you aware of that do you do you know anything about those other teams that you guys tied I could care l I know you you look at the record book sometimes yeah sometimes but for us it's just about us right now we got to we in control of our own destiny we got to get these wins these next couple wins which are going to be hard going to be tough games but we we'll pull it out on the road at Baylor you've been there before obviously know what they're about could this be a major statement kind of game for for you guys and Kai have that question too um to bayor what kind of a statement chance could it be for you guys um I think it's a important game for us especially on the road and them being a ranked opponent um for either of you all do you guys feel this team is kind of where it needs to be performing how it needs to be performing as you all head into this stretch where it's you know multiple ranked opponents kind of up against one another I mean y'all would see y'all would say that what y'all see but um we still got stuff to get better at like little things like little details like rebounding couple rotations but we're going to be good JJ you do so much on both sides of the ball and obviously you're kind of like the spark plug I would say for this team when you look up at the standings and you see West Virginia's near the top do you feel any type of pressure that it's it's kind of on you to get keep this team rolling um honestly no I have a lot of trust in my team all my teammates everybody from the starters to the staff members on the um bench so I haven't trusting them and just letting them letting it take us where we need to go honestly I really not
