a bold episode of fantasy football today Express what's up everybody it's Adam and Jamie here and we've got bold predictions for the 2024 fantasy football season which begins in just a few days okay Jamie give me one bold prediction Marvin Harrison Jr will break puka nura's rookie record of receiving yards and be the first rookie wide receiver to get 1500 yards in the season I was talking to a I was emailing with one of our listeners today and he sent me a link to an article that sort of poured cold water on just the idea of rookie wide receivers um making a big impact and I was like listen I think they can be a little overrated rookie wide receivers um you know they like if they're a top 30 player that's pretty good but we've all look at the way these guys come into the league the be the best of the best they're having huge Seasons now Jamar Chase Justin Jefferson PUK AA huge Seasons Jaylen wad was top 12 in PPR um you know it's possible Harrison you got one of the best wide receiver prospects in years plus walking into a great situation what's going to stop Marvin Harrison Jamie he mean this guy's gonna be awesome he should be I mean look the lofty expectations to get to 1500 yards I mean nobody expected puka to do it clearly um I believe the record was like 1968 right Steve Gorman I think his name was whatever yeah something like that bill Gorman huh I want to say Bill maybe um just an incredible feat but the thing that you look for is can they be the target leader on their team and there's a realistic case that Harrison can be you know I mean his biggest competition is the tight end so I don't think they're going to morph into a run first team you know Kyler will run at the quarterback position but I think they're going to be a balanced offense and Harrison's got an opportunity for north of 130 maybe north of 150 targets which is nice Bill groman 1960 1,473 yards 12 touchdowns follow in that was in 14 games though amazing amazing follow that up with 1100 with 1,175 yards and 17 touchdowns the year after this guy was really good yeah had a short career though um all right give me another Bowl prediction uh jayen Daniels will become the fourth quarterback fifth time to do it to run for 10,000 yards Lamar did it twice uh Justin fields did it once and Michael Vic did it once if he does that he's probably one of the best draft draft picks probably one of the best values in fantasy without question I mean I don't think he has to do that to become that anyway but you know we've seen 800 yards kind of Be The Benchmark for top 10 quarterbacks um no matter what they do as passers you know 800 yards rushing at that position they obviously have to do something as passers CLE but you know you get my point yeah um that he he has a chance to be you know just electric and you know over a thousand yards rushing in 12 games at LSU so you know you hope he stays healthy because that's the knock on these guys is what happened to Anthony Richardson last year you know three separate injuries for him um so hopefully we get that you know healthy season for Daniels and it looks a lot like maybe another Commander's quarterback Once Upon a Time in his rookie season yeah absolutely all right bold prediction number three uh bold prediction number three is that all of the prominent wide receivers age 31 or older and I listed Five Guys for that which would be Cooper cup 31 Damonte Adams 31 Mike Evans 31 DeAndre Hopkins 32 and Keenan Allen 32 uh will not finish in the top 20 wide receiver so really it's the first three guys because they're being drafted in that range and in full disclosure I have them ranked in that range but you know I'm nervous about them um you've heard me say this uh several times in the last 10 years eight of the 63 guys that have been 31 years or older that have started at least 10 games have finished as number one wide receivers only 15 of them 15 of the 63 have finished top 25 so it's not a it's not a very good historical scenario for these guys that age obviously eight of those guys have done it so you know could could happen and I would love to see it happen for all three of them but just don't think it's uh in the cards all right we're going to take a break come back and you may have heard Jam's Bowl predictions on our other show but you didn't hear mine so I'll give three bold predictions Jamie can react we'll be right back on fft Express so here are some bold predictions from me the best bold predictions here we go Christian Watson is a top 15 wide receiver I'm just going to read what I wrote this is for a little write up the Packers have a deep group of group of wide receivers but Watson feels like the only one who could flirt with being a number one fantasy wide receiver Watson was a top 12 wide receiver in the second half of his 20 22 rookie year and he had two huge Fantasy games in weeks 12 and 13 of 2023 before an injury derail his season he has shown greatness in spurts this will will be the year Watson stays healthy and puts it together for a full season top 15 one of my favorite breakout candidates this year um you know we've had this conversation I know Dave is still in the Jaden Reed camp in terms of taking him as the first Packers receiver and I get it he was great last year as well but you know we've talked about this a lot and the sample size is kind of small but when all of them were healthy When Love Was playing his best and Reed was a sniffing Factor because Reed was a little sluggish to start or not as involved at the start of the season but I think this is kind of the reason why is that he doesn't play in three receiver in two receiver sets and so you know if they're rotating all four guys it could be a problem across the board but I could not agree with you more if there's one that could stand out Above the Rest significantly Stand Out Above the Rest Christian Watson has that profile we lost Adam I don't know what his bold predictions are so I can't tell no I gotta I'm back there you go back um all right here's a guy that what would I have done for the last three minutes of the show over the over the last few weeks I've realized how much I like him you know I feel like if I were doing all my drafts over again I would have more of this guy than anyone else unfortunately it's a little late in the draft process but I would try still have a couple of of drafts left can I tell you how pissed I was we have our 20 team office league and he went like right before me who Watson oh no I'm not talking about him I'm talking about this next guy oh next guy sorry George Pickins is a top 10 wide receiver that's my second bll prediction currently not a top 24 wide receiver in average draft position Pickins is going to be a steal his combination of air yards and Yak will make him one of the most efficient wide receivers parenthesis like Nico Collins in 2023 end parenthesis close parenthesis I know the Brandon iuk rumors persist oh I guess that's not relevant anymore but that's the only thing that will hold Pickins back from having a huge season I'm pumped for George Pickins in round five it's unbelievable value I honestly I if it's one of those heavy wide receiver leagues I would take him late in round three I don't blame you I mean you know again the Steelers offense looked awful it it feels as if because of the news that Rashi rice was an incredible value at the start of this process right when you know especially for us like when you know we're doing like some serious drafts in in May and June um and then as we got to the later stages of this because of the auk rumor pickings became one of the most incredible values you know so people were scared and you know again I we did our pick by pick series last week and I went back and looked at one team where uh you actually like the the build because I know you like getting two of the top 17 running backs and so I had the um the second overall pick in our in the last one we did and I had Tyreek Hill and I took uh two running backs I forget who the first one was but he fell somebody fell um at the end of round two and then I took Joe Mixon no I'm sorry it was rounds three and four something like that any oh it was yeah it was Tyreek Hill Drake London uh Kenneth Walker and no it wasn't K I know anyway it was running back in round three and then uh I took Joe Mixon in round four and George Pickins fell around five this was still we were we were we were little right this was that's his ADP that's that's before his ADP second pick of round five but no but but but still it was we were looking at the auk trade iuk thing yeah and if auk there's no question about I mean first he might have been gone before that but like that was an easy decision for me to to to switch you know would have taken pick and over Mixon easy yeah and uh I know that their offense looked bad in that preseason game it's not going to be as bad as it was last year okay oh it's Josh Jacobs that's why I took three yeah it's not gonna be as bad as it was last year I I promise okay uh he was good last year in two scenarios when Deontay Johnson missed he's gone and when it was Mason Rudolph and obvious the quarterback situation should be better no matter how bad these guys are they're better than Mason Rudolph and Kenny picket and I'm looking at NFC ADP just from the 29th 30th and 31st so this was after auk steel was announced George Pickins is wide receiver 30 yep yeah so it hasn't given him a boost at least in those 99 drafts last Bowl prediction for me this is an old one Derek Henry will be one of the biggest busts in Fantasy around 280p for a 30-year-old running back who has never recorded more than 33 catches in a season I'm out i' take Henry in round two only in non-ppr people expect him to be among the NFL leaders in rushing touchdowns but that is his only way of avoiding being a bust if Henry doesn't score double digit touchdowns you're going to be disappointed I am nervous about this one because I think he does scored double digit touchdowns he's a colossal bust yeah I think so based on total yards based on he's got to be 15 plus easy to be in the conversation I don't know that's a that's a lot to be around two pick I think like 12 or 13 touchdowns makes no round to where he his ADP is 15th yeah that's that's rich yeah yeah I mean I'm nervous about it because he's he didn't his metrics weren't great last year but they really weren't terrible and the Ravens are such a good franchise such a good team like you trust them they get a lot of running back rushing yards they get a lot of running back rushing touchdowns so it is easy to see this happening where him scoring 15 touchdowns but if it doesn't happen there's not much to fall back on I think for him unless they you know look we haven't seen a player like this in this offense yeah you know the Greg Roman offense you know what you're getting yeah you know I mean if he if he remember that the year that he hit year he had his foot injury he was on Pace for like 40 some OD catches right yes yeah like right I think he had 19 in eight games he's right right around 40 catches yep mhm if he can be a 40 catch guy 15 touchdowns and I'll say conservatively 1500 total yards oh he's a first round pick he's a first round pick he yeah 40 catches yeah I see him more like 22 catches I see him more like one to two catches a game and um yeah I don't know just not someone again I the Ravens have other options this guy was the only threat in Tennessee so it'll be interesting we just haven't seen this kind of running back production from a Ravens running back I think he's going too early did you draft him at all not once I took him in one draft it was the third round I would gladly take him in the third round yeah I actually was gonna take him with the 35th pick or no the 36th pick I had the turn but I like camra better in full PPR and then Dave took him 38th and that was like insane that was round four y it was amazing I thought it was a great pick but I like I just like CRA round more in PPR I think you might getting
