Pennsylvania the home of the chief take the Liberty Bell and the Little League World Series every year 20 teams from around the world traveled to Williamsport to play America's pastime in front of tens of thousands of fans this year the Southeast region is represented by Florida's own Lake Mary little league the town of Lake Mary has a population of under 20,000 but now 12 of the town's young residents have the opportunity to play the game they love in front of not only the thousands of fans in attendance but the millions of people watching at home 12-year-old starting pitcher JJ Feliciano said playing in Williamsport is much different than the average game day coming to the Lio series on on ESPN on TV all these fans watching this a little nerve racking while the tournament has been an incredible experience for the players the community has relished the chance to watch Lake Mary compete on the biggest stage team manager Jonathan Anderson said the town has embraced the little Leaguers the entire season our community is rallied behind us our community is watching they're loving this this this opportunity to just watch Lake Mary little league play on a grand stage Lake Mary became just the 24th team to represent Florida in the tournament 74e history but Anderson is not content with the tournament appearance he thinks his team can become World Series champions we've been waiting for this for for years now for years we've been waiting to get here we we had the opportunity last year we just missed it we're we're not going to miss our opportunity this year Lake Mary looks to become the first ever Florida team to win the tournament reporting from the Little League World Series in Williamsport Pennsylvania Ben mcclees WFT Sports
