Fixtures Released, New Kit Unveiled and More Signings - Season 24/25, Episode 1

Rooney and I'm dad mlon preseason is here as more transfers are confirmed the new kits are unveiled and the 2425 season fixture list is out in this episode we look at the new arrivals give our fashion critiques and discuss the travel itineries for the year ahead yes Trin and Susanna are here ready to discuss the new kits um for the coming season uh yeah I've been called I've been called a few things time but I've got to admit triny and suanna isn't one of them no definitely not uh we're we're back it's the first episode of the new season we did promise you that we've been now seeing all these big changes and things like we're not quite ready to do that yet um a little bit of a Rebrand going on in the background that we'll we'll come soon promise you that um but yeah we're here to and it's ramping up Dan isn't it it's getting exciting now we're getting we're looking ahead to the new campaign yeah I think uh I think fixed your release day is always one of those you know last season's gone the new fixtures are out you know we had the Cup draws yesterday with the players are back in training the kits are out and you know signings are starting to come in it's uh it's yes you know the past was the past's happened let's move forward exactly it's a new season time to look ahead and uh start planning for the new campaign um so yeah today basically today just Mo mostly a news Roundup we'll talk a lot about new transfers as well just cover that bit it's only going to be a short episode just to tide things over but we'll be back obviously to discuss preseason games very soon as well OB see the pen rff game next week I'm G to try and make up for that one I can't 100% guarantee I will but I'm hoping to get up for that one I think you are you g to go to that no I'm I'm on a night shift so typical not for me sad sad if it had been the Saturday I could have done it but Saturday would have been more convenient for me as well I think it's say although would have potentially classed with an England game would it's probably the best thing it was on the front Friday night and not getting ahead of ourselves there of course um right well a few things to round up before we start um just a big thank you to everyone who's taking part in the Euro 2024 fantasy league and haven't checked the table yet I know I'm fairly low down in it I know my mom's ahead of me so that that that's great start for me as she's been Keen to point out um as has young Craig Robson seems to make a was making a point early on CU he was top of the league he's not top anymore I don't think so you know you got to be careful Cron about it so early on but there you go um yeah it's been it's been really great we we're going to look and do something similar for the new season as well um for the bugle I think I read somewhere Dan I might be wrong with this I think the efl are doing a Fantasy League this season aren't they I'm sure I saw something about that so if they are maybe maybe we'll do an efl one rather than a premier league one for the new season if anyone's interested so just keep an eye out for that one um as I mentioned obiously format change we're going to discuss that in a future episode coming up soon um uh we also got some news we can we can unveil our new sponsor now can't we then because it's the new season and who is the new sponsor it is little drum roll for you here I let you say it because i' I've got to put something in about this you do it's Kos yes Kos very kindly have agreed to sponsor us for the 2425 season really really appreciate sport got to give a shout out again to the L Branch for the support they gave us over the last few seasons massive massively appreciated for their help as well siging for and Dan go do your bit I will add that when one of my colleagues at qos suggested this I immediately raised my hand and said this is a conflict of interest for myself uh I'm going to remove myself from this discussion uh the rest of the board had a quick chat they had a vote on it and agreed unanimously I I didn't vote I I you know what's the word again when you abstained abstained for obvious reasons and obviously when when it's announced uh I'll put a little tweet out for some just so people know because I wouldn't want any uh accusation of bias Etc no absolutely you know I thought it was only right that I that I did that yeah yeah to be fair I I didn't have any discussions with you about this it came out of the blue to me so I was it did it did to me it was like said it was one of the other board members who suggested so yeah absolutely so yeah know it's going to be great we're going to be working with them this season we'll do a few little features and things like that I think as well basically discussing some of the stuff to doing because it's an exciting time for kosk and the club you know you've been doing a lot of stuff in terms of the Rebrand haven't you Dan of Kos and yeah going forward working so closely with the new owners yeah there's uh there's been quite a bit going on so uh you know as members will know we've uh we've been sending emails out about names logos there's another one due to go out tonight Friday uh you know we hoping to get a members meeting uh just before the season the day after the Stockport friendly uh where we'll you know we'll we'll talk through why the names change all that sort of stuff and yeah we've got you know we're just finalizing our competitions for the season the boardroom experience stuff and all that and we we have a very very good work and relationship with uh Castle Sports Group obviously we were integral to the whole thing happening and yeah you know we we have a really good link sort of Link now you know I mean our our rep Matt is he goes to the leadership group meetings uh which they have every week these aren't these aren't official board meetings and just sort of like a a weekly meeting where they talk about what's happening through the week and yeah would that would that have happened under the old ownership I don't think so no disrespect to them yeah but yeah know it's like say I mean I've always said I see last season as unfortunately it happened too late but we've took a step back to hopefully take a couple forward absolutely absolutely on that point let's get on to the news and let's discuss the things we've got to cover today um first I've put these in sort of an order but jump back and forth to what we need to talk about but just talk about preseason fixes we talked about that last time we'll just cover this off quickly um we mentioned last time that there was a gap wasn't there in the preseason fixtures which was Saturday the TW sorry yeah Saturday the 20th of um of July well we're not going to play on Saturday the 20th of July are we done because we're playing Friday the 19th Friday night yeah yeah and it is a trip north of the Border but not one of the teams you expected either no actually forgot sent mid in Europe Yeah so basically this is a good warm-up for them because I think they play the week after in Europe yeah I mean look at that you're going to play face a continental side you might as well face car United AR you to to get yourself ready for it yes um St mirin away basically is the final preseason fixure that's been confirmed there might be one more thrown in there somewhere you don't know but but um but yeah sent M away on Friday the 19th of July I think 7 o'clock kick off I remember rightly at um I can't remember what the name of their ground is now I should have written this down really but um you you should know that is it I want to say no it's not stairs back that's um a if I remember right let me let me look it up Maran Stadium why we're talking here it's the Sissa Stadium um which I think was love streets that was the name of they love Street yeah it was something like that yeah but there you go so yes it'll be a trip to to um to love Street to face the Buddies um good test I think to be fair um I'm a little bit disappointed because bar were playing Kil manik the same night and if we play Kil manic you could actually get back from kilm by train couldn't you you can't we did we did play them on a Friday night about 10 11 years ago yeah yeah remember that three or four of us went up on the train and I think you only had to be back at the station for about 20 past 10 via DP frees yeah so it's not would have been quite good that but never mind um yeah so there you go that's the last preseason game confirmed uh let's talk about ground and training ground Renovations and works obviously the work at BR Park continuing quite well isn't it done by looks of things you've recently yeah I've drove past a few times I've I've been down at the club shop for a couple of things and always have a a little look and yeah it's coming on you know new Turn Style block disabled area at the front of the war you know the the big Hall inside the East stand for all the all the the stuff to get in that they're using and you know the club the club's weekly videos are a good little watch you know yeah absolutely I I I can't stand the music on them but that's that's aoron they they need to get some uh some better rights free uh music for that really I I I know their pain from from my own experience of trying to find decent rights free music but oh God thing is I I wonder if there story that put those together though because they they have a story log on so maybe have a weest story and say look come on get some better music for that get get some good tunes on there there you go um one thing that was been confirmed uh no sorry before we go that um the new screen been installed at the fan Zone was been open for the Euros games seems to been quite a success Dan yeah I finally got down a couple of weeks ago not on a an England yeah game day but just uh and it's for anyone who hasn't seen it yet it is massive yeah the one that was there last season is like you know when you were little and you had your your big Telly in your living room yeah and you add the little 14 inch in your bedroom type thing it's it's like that in size difference it's huge sizewise it looks like the one they got in was it for the Charon game last season the first one we got in initially it looks about similar size to that and yeah I think it's going to have a massive impact this season in terms of people getting down again to watch games so really good to see well let's talk on the main point then Dan uh trading ground news we've had some confirmation as to the location the new training round and probably the I was going to say the worst C Secret in Carlo yeah no no one saw this one coming it's uh yeah it is the Sheep Mount that is going to be the location of the new tragon specifically the upper Plateau football pitches initially is where the club are going to be uh based um on a five-year lease initially now I've seen a few people panic about say know that's not very much that's I'm speaking from experience here working in local authorities that will be basically because that's all they can give them at the moment I 100% certain of that because I know that they'll have rules on things like that especially recreational grounds especially they will not be able to give away on long-term leases straight away they'll probably have to have meetings and discussions and have agreements between members and things like that so I wouldn't Panic at all on that I think that's an initial deal to get us over the over the basically started I've I've seen I've seen a couple of people mention this on Twitter and the Forum and stuff I believe the council are only able to agree for a certain length of time and I think the idea is during the first phase the council will look to vote on extended deals and yeah you know you'll probably find a couple of year into the deal that a longer term deal will then be able to be announced exactly exactly it's certainly nothing to worry about no absolutely not I don't I don't think the the politics would have agree to it if if it wasn't something that they were comfortable with to be fair so yeah I I wouldn't Panic at all on that one um they've also confirmed Castle Sports Group that they're going to be investing in a bit more into the Grassroots pitches and stuff like that so the it's like it's remarkable isn't it how have we got so lucky to get owners that who you know touch wood early days and all that but they they just seem to be doing everything right don't they it's just mad it's just it's just absolutely mad but yeah fantastic news on the training ground investment stuff obviously early days there the club is still training obviously on the the training pitch at Bron Park but that's had a renovation seems to be doing quite well so um so yeah good to see um commercial wise just a few little bits we're not going to go to deals but basically uh terms of sponsors story Holmes confirmed as the back of shirt sponsors again this season in a new shirt sleeve sponsors which is kamatsu Forest and new short sponsors car brass so good to see a lot of local firms getting involved in this one down again obviously on top of um Aqua pure being the new shirt sponsor on the front uh new website is launched as well obviously they haven't got the car United TV stuff solid yet but what what's your thoughts I've had a little look for it it seems quite good to be fair yeah I was uh I was having a look for it the other night like proper Deep dive into it and it it's a lot cleaner fresher it's it's just nice to be away from that generic efl layout that 95% of clubs had I mean the generic out uh uh uh what you call it layout has its advantages in terms of the fact when you go to an opposition website you're like right I know where to go to find stuff but as you say it doesn't give it a feel or character of it it's your Club website does it really so it's kind of nice to have something a bit different and yeah early days looks pretty good I'm sure there'll be the issues and tving issues the best thing I suggest people is report it to the club and then get it fixed don't twine them about say oh this doesn't work just just tell them and they'll sort it you know that that's that's the way websites generally work when they launch I can and I really can't speak from experience there the the pain of issues with websites when they launch um one other thing commercial wise that the club announced um a new sustainable model going forward a lot of good stuff in terms of um you know uh what you call it the um en environment I think I think this is just something that's part of modern life now you know it's sustainability and all that you know yeah it's one maybe we'll talk talk through with 10 10 20 years ago it would probably be deemed hippie-ish wouldn't it but yeah you know times have moved on and it's you know it's a part of the world now so yeah good absolutely right let's talk about appointments then Dan um there's been a flurry just before the start of preseason of of announcements of new appointments Etc and we'll start off first mention that Billy bar he's been confirmed that he's going to stay on for next season as first team coach which I think it's good news Simo seemed really pleased to get him in and you know he's someone who seems to be quite well respected at every Club he's been to since he's been with us as well so I know people had their issues about him returning and stuff but by of by guns it's it's a new era move on isn't it really yeah uh what happened happened it was a long time ago and if you want an example of that Paul Huntington yeah exactly when when Paul Huntington did that celebration for leads he was absolutely vilified for weeks and he came back you know it's stuff happens heat in the moment Etc it was many years ago if if it's for the betterment of car United crack on you know exactly exactly uh on top of that uh couple more appointments new goalkeeping coach Glenn Johnson no not not that one before anyone says um he's left his role at Queens Park in Scotland to to join the blues as the new keeper coach interesting appointment this one isn't it you found a quite an interesting article on him yeah I uh I shed an article on him uh he's worked in a hell of a lot of places you know he's also been time abroad he's very much what I would call the modern coach in that yeah he's being prepared to go out his comfort zone and travel abroad to work and I I follow a couple of lad coaching on Instagram who I know who I certainly know through friends are friends and that and they they go all over the world you know yeah they'll do a year here 18 months there six months there and you know let let's let's see what he can do you know he looks uh he looks he looks as though he knows what he's doing and it's it's always good for the keepers to not have a change every season but fresh ideas and you know you know I mean the go the goalkeeping units looking strong you know we've we' got three Keepers we've got a goalkeeper coach uh good luck to them for the season yeah I kind of feel like he's an interesting one because he's like you mentioned he's been abroad he's been at CP Baltimore in America and he's a uh pun FC in India um and since then he spent bit time down south here Boren wood jilling him dagging him in Red Bridge before he joined Queens Park in 2021 I think I I I think you're right I think I call him more like a modern goalkeeping coach if you know what I mean probably and that's no disrespect to Dave Timmons with Dave Timmons is very much an old school goalkeeping coach I think yeah yeah I think it might benefit someone like Harry Lewis a bit more having someone like him working with him because Harry lewi is very much more a modern keeper he's good with his feet isn't he so hopefully going forward this will really help him to to kick on this season and show the keeper that we know he's capable of being um other what final appointment uh new physio Sophie Bernie has been appointed uh lots of experience at PL and efl clubs and she we're looking through this Wigan Blackburn Rovers Manchester United and Liverpool most recently uh at Newport County I think this is the first time she've been like a a first team head physio isn't it I think um in I think previous RS almost like assistant or like you know one of the physios as part of a group so uh she's clearly got a really good pedigree come through some very good clubs got to give a little mention though um a bit disappointed with the behavior of some of our fans in reaction to this on social media it was very childish some Childish frankly sexist misogynist comments made on the social media post and the club had to actually tweet and and comment on the post saying we've had to delete a load of posts you know please cut it out sort of thing I have to admit there was some stuff on the Forum as well we on the buzzback Forum it was a bit disappointing that was dealt with event it's just absolutely no need for it really and it doesn't really encourage people to want to come and work for us if that's the kind of reaction they're going to get so hopefully that's nip that all in the bud and look at the end of the day she record speaks for herself you know the club she's been at so good luck to Sophie and uh yeah hope she hope she's not too busy this season because last few seasons the physios have been busy that's that's the point so fingers crossed she wasn't too busy um contract news before we we talk about the new kids finally Dan uh Anon dudic he signed his new deal a one-year deal um but Sim is very clear what what his plan for him this season is isn't he yeah um it wouldn't be the biggest surprise if he went out on lawn early on yeah to get some proper football into him you know something like workington red to would be ideal for the first laan I think but no is is is a low cost gamble you know he's he see some good he's clearly show he's clearly shown shown something yeah and look his contract will be minimal in terms of a a pro football club so yeah good luck to him I hope it happens for him I I really do I think it' be a really nice story if we can get it to work and like I said a good loone spell someone like Reds would I think we're doing really well actually for this season um right let's talk about them then new kits coming then um in in the least biggest surprise in the history of mankind after the uh sheet Mount announcement new homekit for the season is a tribute to the 7475 toothpaste kiss that United won wore in their first division season uh 50 years on um slightly different in the sense that it doesn't have white shorts and Red Socks which you're going to go on about in a minute I'm sure um and they've shoehorned a few badges onto it I mean an image leaked of this not long after we recorded if I remember rightly uh last time um and the reaction wasn't overly positive now we've had a chance to actually see good quality professionally taken photos of actually yeah I think I think that leaked picture that flew about was a picture of a picture it's it's not it was not very helpful was it say it very grainy from taking from a distance what's your thought of it and now you've seen it right I completely agree with the use of it for the 50 or anniversary as I did for the 40th anniversary my grape with this kit was the pointless using of it in 2122 Yeah Yeah by the decision I believe was taken by a certain ex employee it was Nam it was just lazy that yeah it was lazy uh I I think there's too many badges on it it's good to see the fox it's good to see the Fox on it I actually wondered if there's efl rule about having to actually have your registered badge on a shirt I why I don't know if there would be because Man United and Liverpool and and other clubs have you and Arsenal have used a very basic version of their badge haven't they on their shirt in recent Seasons not necessarily Premier League true maybe I mean I almost wonder if you could put a little version of the club Crest on like the the back of the collar or something like that you know that's hidden away the the only change I would have made would be to have the badges centralized in the middle and all the same color if it done them all in the gold it would look neater look I know we don't people don't like a sponsor across it but it's 23 24 there's going to be a sponsor you know yeah but yeah no it's uh it looks better in the flesh uh as you mentioned I really do think it should be white short and red sucks I believe if you're going to go yeah and honor it you do the full thing but can understand why it isn't you know yeah blue shorts seems to be our thing now unfortunately which is disappoint to me because we always wore white shorts they um but yeah the um I agree with you there's too many badges I would have taken the club Crest off if we could um just for this one kit and I would like like you I would have put the the umro badge centralized as well in gold and that either just above or just below the just below the the gold Fox nice to have the fox in gold as well the tradition yeah yeah then good good to see proper sa badges as well yeah that's a treat isn't it because I think actually some fans are probably disappointed because he he could have done with the club Crest one falling off on this one so you so you could have it without it but but there you go um yeah I I just find it a little bit frustrating that there's that extra badge on that that's the the only thing and the sponsor thing I do get what people are saying I think maybe if they just if they just made the sponsor a little bit smaller so it was within the white section and what didn't go over the red lines but they'll have paid good money to have the sponsor so so so there you go there's plenty of worse sponsors we could have had on it I think yeah yeah it could have been worse all I'm going to say is I hope that we now retire the toothpaste kit after this and that's it don't need any anniversaries I would I maybe do it in 25 and 50 when it's complete new generations you know yeah possibly yeah because the frustrating thing is it also clashes with the 94 95 season and it would have been nice to May a deck chair tribute as the awake it andfor we didn't get that what sorry go what were you going to say I I I actually suggested that on Twitter a few months fact that it would be great to do the deck chair this year with it being W the anniversary but I mean I suppose you could do it next season it's the actual year of you know 30 years on from when maybe but but there you go even a modern take on it maybe in the deck deck chair kit in the fruit salad style that would be quite cool actually I think that work quite well but anyway uh a away kit is not de it is I mean how would you describe it pink and teal are they the two colors you use I I would say mint Navy and pink yeah probably about right I I saw I think I think it was Nigel cin said it was Sun for Monsters Inc well which is a good call but we prefer Lynx Java it is the color of ly ja it's a lynx Java kit absolutely so it's have a links Java all Su for monsters in kit um yeah it's it's kind of like a sort of I don't even know to describe it's like a sort of squared sort of pattern almost on it isn't it it's another bus suit one isn't it basically but I quite like it it's not I don't think it's quite got the appeal of the fruit salad kit but I think it'll still be popular yeah uh when I first heard the alleged colors I was like oo ooh oo and there was obviously that link picture yeah and you know you're like I know know but uh it's grown on me massively already yeah I I I I I like it I think there is an element of it is it just does it just look like a training top that's been made into a home kit sorry a away kit I don't know but I I agree you I think it's grown on me and I had a panic when I heard the leak call as well because I was kind of like if you're going to do pink you might as well just do a big bright pink or something like like that you know that would probably appeal quite well but the way the way they've done it's quite nice I think it all sell quite well goalkeeper short kits home one is yellow which is basically the awake it isn't it for um for uh For That season 7475 season it's it could almost work as a kick couldn't it when you I I really like the keeper top it's it's such a great yellow yeah absolutely um yes and um the away keeper tot not as keen on this one kind of like looks like the run out of ideas if I'm honest I think maybe a bright green would have been better for this maybe this traditional green goalkeeper when When You See It In the Flesh it's quite nice it doesn't look that great on the photos for me I don't know maybe I'm just maybe I just want it to be traditional and just keep it simple for the keeper top I don't know but I initial thought I I I don't think it'll sell as well as last season's kit overall but I think it'll still be quite popular and also the because the problem is if you're if you're a larger chap you know and let's be honest we are larger chaps it's not a kit you really want to wear that home K much because it it it extendes your uh your belly let's just say that so so there you go um yeah kits cool all done right let's talk about Squad numbers PR briefly Dan because they've changed slightly and there some interesting changes in there so let me try and load up the page I've got here with the squad numbers on so no Harry Luc is me to number one no massive surprise there is there really before you would do that um but then there's no number two yet which again we're not that surprised by because we haven't signed a right back Terell Thomas has taken number four as a Sam LEL I've just given you name of a new signing hav even talked about them yet um level five Aon Hayden's taking six again no surprise there number seven is a new signing which we'll talk about shortly number 10 hasn't been taken yet because that used to be Alfie MC alman's number moved to 24 that's interesting isn't it you would have thought maybe he would have um wanted to keep that but has he been moved has he asked to move from number 10 opens up a lot of questions doesn't it I don't think he'd asked no no so I think he's been moved I think I agree with you there um Luke Armstrong's moved to 29 interestingly he hasn't got number nine but I think he likes to have a nine in his number doesn't he so I'm sure he had number 29 at harate didn't he I was going to say I can remember him playing at harate as 29 yeah because obviously Georgie Kelly's got number nine um by that it's all pretty much of a muchness sorry Harrison Neil and um Josh Val mov to 17 and 16 respectively and that's it really there's a few quite a few numbers still open number 14 number 12 14's a good number isn't it it's always been a good Strikers number for us we yeah we've had some good Strikers player for Lee Miller Joe Garner jabble Jabo yeah exactly so there you go um yeah so so that there's your your squad numbers for the season camera har has taking number 20 by the way just a just a update there and Jude Smith 24 what what what do you what do you think number 12 should be uh backup Defender a utility back it's a back either a utility or a backup fullback absolutely when I play 4 manager that's that's what my 12 is yeah absolutely number 10 should be either stri we nearly got the keepers right as well I'm always a big fan of 113 and 25 and I think we've gone 11323 which yeah is acceptable Anon dudeck's number 25 this season so there you go cool anyway Squad numbers that was a pretty quick one covered off um let's talk now about fixtures that's the uh the bit everyone wants us to talk about probably um what's your initial force of them coming out so I'm looking through them I think they've been fairly kind to the fun Bas yeah uh I expected to start away purely because we've got a building sight and it just gives you that week's Grace uh I fully expect it to be finished in time anyway but you know just in case uh we've got quite a few of the longer trips early which means we've also got a lot of northern games late on this season so if as we all hope we're at the top we'll have some really good followings yeah uh Chris Christmas has been very kind yeah home 26th and 29th and we obiously play crew on New Year's Day this this drives you mind because we we were discussing this like a weeks ago and saying nail done we're g to get crew New Year's Day and we have and someone actually twe because I tweeted about and someone's actually replied to tweet me I think about three seasons we've had them on Christmas day we've also had them between Christmas and New Year as well we haven't had them on Christmas day sorry yeah so New Year's Day sorry not Christmas day long time since we play football on Christmas day yeah New Year's day we had a few three times that and I think a couple of times between Christmas and New Year just ridiculous never played time yeah let's be honest though the big one that stood out was the first home game battle Yeah so obv we massive that's massive yet as we mentioned there we've got our longest trip of the season to open things up and jilling them away bit frustrating in one sense but also in another sense it's out of the way it's done yeah and also there's a bonus with that in that as part of the new Sky deal uh for the efl um every single opening fixure is going to be shown live on Sky SWS plus isn't it fan Zone exactly I'm pretty sure the club will be showing in the fan Zone which is great because it means the club's going to make some money off it for the fans it doesn't have to worry too much about travel I'm sure the the ones who are local down in the South will go and they'll be a good following that goes down I reckon about five or 600 at least um which is an impressive effort for you know start of the summer for a long trip like that um but yeah I I just think it's good that we got that Sky SP plus so means you can get to watch that game as you mentioned first home game Barrow I mean could have asked for much better could you especially as carabal Cup draw few days before that will be taking on Stoke City a team we not played very much at all in our history no fifth time we' played them and yes I got that right it is the fifth time definitely not the six um yeah we have played them we have played them in a friendly in yeah yeah we did we did Mark Burch played for Stoke that day yes I put that on the Forum yesterday I'm sure I was like I'm sure Mark Burch played for Stoke that day and I went on Jeff Jackson's site and he had the team Sheet loaded up and I found it yeah fantastic but yeah um bar it's a great one that one because the opening day is always a big fit crowd anyway but Barrow will 100% bring about 1500 up you'd think it's a weekend game um on top of that we I reckon you could see a five figure Crow for this one i' i' anything under five figure home fans and I'll be very disappointed yeah I think as long as there a bit you know bit a bit of a good feeling around the club especially you know we have played it probably had a decent crowd for The Stoke game as well I would like to think we'll have at least 10,000 and if we get a great start at Jill them that would push up to 11 or 12 yeah potentially which is just I think it normally I'm not a big fan of having like a derby get well call it a d the game early on in the season but actually I think it we couldn't have asked for much better actually this season I think that's that's perfect I think I'm sure Barrow Tru with that as well you know to actually play us on a Saturday early on in the season is exactly we must add though this may change for TV yet well yes because uh By the time this is out you might it might even be announced the sky have got seven the first seven days to announce all the fixures up to the end of September that they're going to show Live start of September is it start of September yes right sorry I thought it was for the the the end and then by the time the season starts they have to do up to January right okay there you go right so so yeah that potentially and I think there's a half decent chance this might get moved but if it gets moved it's probably an early kickoff on the Saturday or early kickoff on the Sunday isn't it they're not going to put this later on because they don't the police are going to be like nope there's not a chance you're having them drinking all day before that fixture so I imagine it'll be an earlier kickoff at at worst basically but hey potential extra money coming in as well so always a good thing um as you mentioned there Christmas more come on boxing day at home and Aron stalling at home on Sunday the 29th um and then uh trip to crew on New Year's Day TR roover is the first away game uh on the start of 2025 um on that one though that's not aicup weekend that is it epicate weekend's the weekend after this season if I remember rightly I think you looked that up didn't you I I think yeah I think I think it's 11th so the try game definitely will be then it's the game after that might get moved uh Easter weekend we've got Port Vil at home on the Friday and a trip to Akron on the Eastern Monday did if I remember rightly did we play Akron in eastern Monday for the infamous um the infamous Keith curl game there yes we did hopefully no repeat of that this time around 10 years on um yes Easter money trip to Arington and then we finish off with a a trip to chelham before the final game of the season is home against sford on the 3D of May so yeah all around not too bad Bromley away I think is in November as well so that's that's a pretty good one yeah so yeah pretty I do believe it's on an international weekend that it is yes because I think we may lose T Thomas who we haven't talked about yet oh that'd be a shame it because yes they will they will do of course they will do they will do um right so that's fixtures covered I think um we'll take a quick short break and then we'll be back to we got three coming in Dan so let's talk about them one of them not a massive surprise because we discussed them as a and it had been going on for a couple of weeks before that Cameron Harper has joined on a threeyear deal from iness calonia fistle interesting one this one isn't it I I'm I'm quite excited to see how he's gonna do I mean this this sort of broke up the road in the local iness press before it was confirmed by the club and there had been spottings of him about so I I think yeah if you if you look at the pictures Simo was in the old bimson top for the I think some of some of it yeah was it the interview that was done about him so it was clearly done that day was spotted at greter I think yeah but uh obviously I think they were just uh agreeing Fe with in Vanessa I I was reading in Vanessa had a bit of change in their boardroom yeah so that that was probably the reason why not dragged on but certainly took a little bit longer yeah so just to clear this off everyone so he is out of contract with him C FAL this summer he wasn't out of contract but uh because he's under the age of 23 I think he is that's the rule in Scot if you go in international transfers isn't it you still have to pay compensation for him because they've offered him a new deal so we've had to agree basically the AL the alternative is to go to a tribunal we've basically agreed a fee with them it won't be a massive fee it'll be still be a decent fee for them I'm sure I don't think it'll be huge uh there'll be addons I'm sure like if we get promoted and things like that they'll get more possibly yeah it's it's one of those because yes he's a Scottish under 21 but he only played one game so it's not like he was a regular and yeah you know yeah Del P he's important though he's played every game last season for them pretty much when when he's when he's he's had two promotion campaigns and top end Championship on to buy him for five million it won't really matter yeah I'm sure they'll have a sell on CLA they'll have a sell on Clause there I'm sure that they get a decent wedge from that as well so they'll they'll be pleased to get that um yeah what do your thought this one I mean he's only 21 but he's got like 150 appearances for his home time Club under his belt and you know he's he's played in a scotch Cup Final as well I'm pretty sure so you know a pretty decent signing I think yeah um when he was when he was rumored he was coming um obviously there was there was a couple of people at tweeted about him being a good move for someone and some of his numbers were really really good I mean he looks everyday modern Wing back doesn't he you know I mean he he's he's got two or three goals he's got assists he can take a dead ball he gets up and down the channel you know it's it's basically it's great competition for Jack Arma because I we're we're big fans of Jack Arma here aren we but I think I think Jack would admit he have the best of Seasons last season as did many others you know we're certainly not highlighting him here you know but you know those two going head-to-head will hopefully push each other on and it could be that one will play half a dozen games maybe drop off and then another will play you know it'd be interesting to see and it allows him to play at full Pelt because that's the one thing armor played till he lost his place can't remember exactly when it was about November or something wasn't it he played like about 70 odd games in a row hadn't he for us and sometimes you just need a break and actually having two plays you can go full Pelt there in that position now gives us some options and I think I get the impression that Harper could actually play a bit further forward as well if you needed to because he he's got watching the Clips of him he's got a little bit of the Matti Robson about his his style of play and the way he plays and way he gets up and down the pitch so I potentially think there's a very exciting play in there isn't there yeah definitely uh and it it ticks a big me in the fact that we signed someone from Scotland you know I mean yeah everyone knows how going on about it but there is good players up the road and we financially we can beat anyone but probably the top four or five yeah absolutely um also got a decent set Pace in him which is something we've really really lacked for well he's got a a cracking free kick against Queens Park I think at hon didn't he last season if you haven't seen it go have a look on Twitter it's a really really good strike um so yeah really really good signing it gives us good comptition even you know with Jack Robinson coming back from injury at some point in September probably you got three options down that side now so we're well covered on the left uh the right obviously was still not quite as well covered but we'll talk about a rumor in that position shortly um another defensive Edition and one that came out of nowhere wasn't even rumored uh at Center back is Terrell Thomas who's arrived on a two-year deal from Char fle this really did come out of nowhere from nowhere didn't it Dan yeah it's uh it's it's quite interesting hearing a lot of the names that have been banded about in weeks and then you see some of the signings we make and like you said terle Thomas just wasn't mentioned by anyone anywhere which is which is good you know because a chose leaks of slowed down and B you know it's it's a little bit of the oh there's a new name you know yeah and more less International yes indeed so he's a s Lu Captain have we had a c Lucian play for us before I don't think we have that's another on add to the list then isn't it you know we had Ukrainian added to the list last season we've now got St Lucia well we're going to do the uh in the the international colors of car United at some point AR we and go through the list of them all and try and cover some of the more obscure ones when we get the chance but um but yeah Doo was sent kits and Ne wasn't he but he was I was after he played for us yeah quite a while after he play so he he was always English when he played for us look looking at St luci's fixtures on Flore they've got eight games next season because they have two in each International window in September October November by the end of the next season terl Thomas could be our most C player L me hey well I I know someone who who remains angry about the fact that Reggie lamb is our most CA player of all time who will be delighted to hear that as lot H H would have been about level but he he he was a snide wasn't he basically yeah he lost a couple of them didn't he I think um yeah so he started his career childood in fact he was in Arsenal's Academy till a very young age and um and then he went to Charlton started out of Charlton then he played for Wigan AFC wion crew and reading before returning to the addicts two years ago uh played about 40 OD games for them last season didn't he I think for for charton so it wasn't like he was on the on the fringes their squads a 40 games at League one level not not a bad return um he just strikes me as a very good solid acquisition and simmo's been Keen to point out his leadership qualities as much as anything hasn't he do you not think we look a lot bigger in the center now absolutely and it looks it kind of feels like he's piling the team with people who who are Captain material basically not not all of them will be Captain Sam Sam L isn't small John melish isn't small Adam herden isn't small ter Thomas is is n small Ben Barkley isn't small really you know no he's probably the smallest of the lot but 6 foot2 you know he's not he's not tiny so we we've got we've got quite a good card of center backs now I mean the Simons suggest that we're going to play three stroke five at the back yeah yeah I mean to be honest if you're gonna get the best out of John melish that's what you got to do we know at this level he will be he will cause a nuisance on the left side of the center backs and I think actually he's done it with armor before but I think with Cameron Harper he could benefit even more you know from someone who's going to bomb forward and and support him so yeah I I I think I really do think and I I just feel like Simo has been very clever with his additions this summer he's he's sorting the defense first obviously we still got a right back to again but he's bringing in good I mean Harper has been captain at the age of 21 so he's a leader you know he's bringing in leaders he's bringing in good eggs in the in the dressing room and I think that's a clear sign of like I got it wrong last season Hayden's off the back of two promotions in his time away yeah Thomas has played at leag one you know yeah and we've heard from people that level's a really good influence in the dressing room actually and you really really good person in there as well so you know and we know that John melish will just get on and do his job and we know he he's a great professional as well so at the back he's looking pretty good so that that that's that's a really good thing to see um final Edition uh and again a name that came completely out of nowhere Ethan Robson is it some a name that has been mentioned but with us previous Seasons I think when he left blackp he was linked with us I I'm sure when he originally left Sunderland we possibly had a look at him yeah no there was certainly a rumor that we were sniffing about him yeah that's that sounds I remember when he went to Blackpool he went to MK on lawn for half a season didn't he and when he left Blackpool two years ago I was like that's a player I'd love to see here yeah but obviously he went back to MK because he'd been there on L yeah so a 27 year old midfielder he's selling a two-e deal after leaving MK Dons at the end of last season starting to creat Sun who who who please don't say Dons with that lot sorry Milton keing yes I Sor I should get that right signed from Milton keing uh at the end of last season um started his cre Sunland as you mentioned he had lone Spells at dundy and grimby before joining Blackpool uh had a couple of years there I think about 60 odd games for Blackpool I think um played a similar number I think for for Mk as well not played that many games for someone who's 27 years old but in the last few seasons he's been consistently playing football hasn't he um simmer described himself as like a sort of cultured number eight left footed player probably not been the one getting the assist in recent Seasons but he's been the one laying on for someone to put a crossing and things like that so I think Sim wants a bit more out of him on in terms of that sort of stuff but yeah I an interesting addition is it fair to say yeah it's it's one that just just works for me because he's he's a Northeast lad he's got plenty of League one experienced he he strengthened our Midfield group and he's got a left he uses his left a lot yeah and it just it just fits I mean you look at our Midfield now we've got uh guy Neil V Robson Mok chars Charters M mman you know I mean I I think one I think one of them will move on likely Al I don't yeah I don't think we need seven but it again Paul Simpson said a couple of times he wants competition in every position and yeah that that core of central Midfield certainly gives us that you know well we we had that last time we were down at this level a couple years ago we had six players that could play this positions basally didn't we we had if I remember rightly First Choice was basically guy moxen and Gibson to St and then you had um Charters trying to think who else it would have been um Hilton at the start been obiously MCC replaced him and one of a player whose name was completely scammy but we had basically two potential midfields that we could put out in in that position so you know that that that if we're going with three in the Midfield we probably do need six to cover at least don't we you know so and you know Jack Robinson's played in there recent seasons and and we know that John melis will push into there you know if we play that um 352 he will push into Midfield at time so you know it's it's the options are there and I I I like the look of it I think he looks like a again he looks like another one who could potentially be a good leader and a good influence of just Newman what's left to find now that's the question down who what positions would you want to see as strengthening obviously there's there's one we'll talk about in a right wing back we know that we'll have to sign some we'll talk about the rumored player there in a minute but in terms of other players who would you want uh well obviously we need a right back stroke right wing back I think that's you know Paul Simpson saying yeah we need that uh we need another sort of 10 player because we've only got Butterworth uh at least one and preferably two more wider players you could play in the middle though as well maybe but they could also play in the middle I think most players these days are are that play all across don't yeah I think I think we definitely need at least one more Striker yeah the thing is we got to remember is we haven't even touched the loan market yet you know we've got five players in and was it six five or six players in and we' got we haven't even looked at the low market so that that remains an option yeah it wouldn't surprise me if maybe one of the the wide type players comes from the laan market yeah um you know I mean yes it can be very hit and miss Etc but you know let's just see what happens yeah absolutely I think definitely we could do getting a couple in so it'll be interesting to see what happens there talk about the right back obviously sorry in terms of rumors there's H it's dried up again really it's gone a bit quiet but one name has persisted a little bit recently that's um a right back from barnesley Barry cot he's been mentioned a little bit online on the forums and on Twitter he just Adam mcgan seemed to be the The Man flying Bo um he he's went quiet and bar cot has appeared I have no idea if there's any truth in any of them yeah uh but you know there's usually no smoke without fire C cot's obviously an Irish lad isn't he and he he's he's very pacy from what I can gather looking at the boundy for him they they seem quite happy for the idea for him to move on because I don't think he's quite he's he's 6' one as well so he's quite big and and having R into it he's got an enormous long throw apparently so we Aaron Hayden in that box and Terell Thoms that he could quite strong Kelly Thomas we are going to be a big strong side next season you can see that already can't it's cly shaping up that way isn't it yeah I mean even like Harrison Dale's a big lad isn't he you know someone like him you know can put himself about and you know it's very exciting go forward just one quick mention before we sort of wrap things up in a sec H good as well to see Callum guy back out on the training ground this week on the grass as well yeah I was I was down at the club the other day for something and was walking across the car park and uh slightly gingerly but certainly a lot better than he would have at the end of last season you know and by all accounts he's uh he's you know he's he's training nicely and hopefully it won't be too long till he's uh battling for a place in the team I mean absolutely we want him back we want him back in there because we know just how important he is especially at this level he's been fantastic so yeah hopefully we can uh get him in and get things going um and that's it I think Dan we're not going to do the explo we're going to wrap that up in
