the Dodgers are hit yet with another injury this time thecar Hernandez gets hit by a pitch in the first inning of tonight's game against the Cleveland Guardians and does not return to the game just Dodgers news let's get right into it of course so the Dodgers officially announced uh during today's game during the the matchup tonight against the Guardians we got this report I believe in the fourth or fifth G if I'm not mistaken the doctor said that is suffered a left foot bruise and he would undergo further testing um Saturday which is of course uh tomorrow uh if you're on the west coast of course in the east coast it's already Saturday but U the daughters did mention that tomorrow at this is going to go through further testing after getting a you know a big bruise it seems on his foot it was he was hit by an 81 m an hour um slider um in the first inning just unfortunate but we got more of a more of a detailed you know answer from manager Dave Roberts after the game when he was asked um how Hernandez was doing after this ball game and Roberts answered not great that is not good to hear at all if you're a Dodger fan um he said you know he's tough he could barely move his foot but he did you know confide to the reporters or not confide because everybody heard it I would say he did reveal to the whole world that you know he doesn't see how this is not going to be an iil you know how he he doesn't see how this is not going to be an IL stint for Hernandez you know we're going to give it a couple days but we'll see how um he comes out that those were basically the words from uh Dave Roberts and that is just really bad news because as we you know eranz has been one of the best players for the Dodgers all season long free agent signing only signed for one season and he's been you know one of the most clutch players to say the least for the team all year long you know take a look at his stats you know hitting uh what is it two uh 66 but with 28 home runs and 87 RB I mean that is just wild if you think about it 140 hits who would have thought he would get a 87 RBI nobody did um you know he was a good hitter before joining the Dodgers but this year he has taken it to a whole new level especially with you know with hitting in in Runners and scoring position and you know on it at his uh you know usually hits fourth or fifth in the lineup that is that is an important role to say the least with the way the Dodgers have their one two three set up with hotani Betts and Freeman um and of course we'll get more into that uh later on today you know on the show because that ended up looming large tonight um in the daughter's loss against the guardians but you know this is this is big for the daughters luing and Hernandez for an extended period of time because they were relying so much on this guy playing every day relying on his hits relying on on just uh you know his leadership um for the team uh being one of those like I mentioned clutch hitters for the team and now with him going on the iil for an extended period it really doesn't uh bode well at all for the Dodgers who were of course trying to of course clinch the National League West trying to uh you know put themselves in a position to really go far in the playoffs and with this sort of injury um happening this is exactly what you don't want and with the Gavin Gavin Stone news earlier today him going on the injured list with the right shoulder infl inflammation and now adness gets hurt in the first inning of tonight's game getting hit by a pitch just some really um unfortunate events for sure for the Dodgers who you know are really um you know they were the World Series favorite going into this year um with the Otani signing and the Yamamoto signing um and glass now signing and ernand you know ernandez signing as well I mean this team really bulked up as we know um in the off season so everybody was kind of thinking this is a World Series favorite team um and with all the injuries that are piling up and nowan as well you know you start to wonder the daughters still consider World Series favorites you know as fans we want to see them win the the World Series but this is starting to get a little bit too much right this late in the year having all these injuries with just not enough time left you know none of these you know we haven't heard of a season ending injury yet right you know the kersa injury is pretty serious some people are saying you know that he should be back but that one that one you could potentially say you know could be season ending but no official word that any of the injuries that the Dodgers are having our season ending but even the daughters were able to recuperate all these players such as uh you know glass now Kershaw of course getting Yamoto back next week and of course getting hopefully getting ernandez back and Gavin Stone you know you get all these guys back right before the playoffs in what um sort of um you know state they're going to be in are they going to be able to be in Rhythm to be able to compete at a high level come playoff time right because you don't want these guys sitting out the rest of the regular season you know only getting like a couple games in at the end of the month and then have to turn it around and play in an nlds series and you know it they get a Buy in the first round they're going to have that week off so that's already going to be a challenge but if you have guys that haven't played in a long time like erandis this is a long term thing he misses three four weeks and he doesn't get much bast for the playoffs you know we really going to be able to expect the samean that we saw prior this injury because baseball as we know is a game of you know Rhythm it's a game of getting into a certain state if you mess that up it's really hard to you know get back into it right we we've seen that again and again with the Dodgers as they've you know had Buys in the first round and and then we don't really see the same team Come N LDS times so uh this is a bad injury to say the least really concerning I mean today was a was a tough game to watch you know losing 3 to1 but it started off with the injury things were just not the same uh you could see it in the crowd people I was not at the game tonight but you know watching on TV you could see it you know watching the game people were just not you know there was there was a lot of worry in the crowd we the team itself was also worried for Hernandez because you know just him going down like that and not being able to come back um was just really tough to watch and you know some bright spots was you know Landon Knack he actually pitched you know gave up the two-run Homer that ends up you know being the game winner but you know had a pretty solid game I mean I I'm going to be I was a little bit surprised with landed Knack you know was was pretty solid tonight um you know only giving up um you know gave up of course three runs but what what it was a solid solid game right we gave up two runs I should say because bonda gave up of course the uh the the solo shot later but you know gave up two runs gave up three hits um and you know was was very solid had eight strikeouts which is always good to see eight strikeouts tonight for Landon Knack so you know there was some um you know bright spots for sure um you know G of course a two H like I mentioned that ends up cosing in the game but you know it was definitely for shadow tonight tonight by the nandz injury we are all definitely worried and now with Dave Roberts talking about um potentially an is I stin you're definitely concerned um you know another uh aspect of this injury of course was Chris Taylor right Chris Taylor um ends up having to come up with The Bases Loaded in the e in a crucial moment moment as the daughters at second and third uh the Guardians walked Freeman who was batting third to face Taylor um as we know Taylor was uh playing in place of Hernandez who got hurt Taylor came in right away to pinch run for him and stayed in his left fielder um of course he was a you know the best outfielder you could say that was on the bench in terms of his Fielding to come in for on this but as we know you know his his uh hitting this year has been subpar to say the least hitting under 200 173 you know his career Bing average is over 300 with the bases loaded they did mention that on the broadcast tonight but once again Taylor's struggling in 20 24 grounds it to a double play that really cost the Dodgers today but you know you can't you can't really blame Dave Roberts for having Taylor out there right I mean Adis was heard in this game somebody had to come in um this that this injury changed the entire ball game as we can see ends up really cosing the daughters in the eighth inning you have arandis up there with the base loaded um in the eighth inning with one out he probably at least gets a Fly ball and the daughters get a get a run right even if he doesn't any base hit well daughters tie the game so just to really tough situation we know we hope all the best fors hopefully he can come back soon just like Gavin Stone there's no really much information right now on Stone other than he's going on the iil and then he's going to be out of pitching for 10 days but outside of that there's no idea how severe that injury is kind of kind of like with Hernandez as well how severe is this injury so it's just not good news at all but tomorrow they'll be back at at game two with three gam set you know now with just a four game lead on the Padres who won tonight so daughter's gonna have to try to get a w tomorrow night make sure to subscribe and let's go Dodgers
