this is hbr news number 410 Amazon shuts down smart home the UN is pure evil DHS to assign risk store scores where we talk about the news of the week and give it the badger treatment hello everybody and welcome to Honey Badger radio I hope you guys are doing well this week and that you are laughing at all this absurdity so that you are not consumed by it my name is Brian I'm joined by my lovely co-hosts uh the Patriarchs and uh Hannah are handmaiden uh that's uh Hannah Wallen Dr Adam Cam and Mike J and we welcome you to this episode of hbr news number 410 which is really higher than that but I I can't be bothered to count all the new shows we've done um so anyway Today's Show should be a lot of fun I know there's a lot of big stories people are talking about but I I wanted to narrow it down to these because I think they are in some ways really really important um so stick around it's gonna be a good time and let's talk about what the news is going to be so this week we're going to be talking about the smart home that Amazon shut down over supposed racist language the un's Secretary General proposes a global digital compact to push laws against hate speech Or Hate In general specifically towards women because obviously women are always most affected the Department of Homeland Security is sought to assign risk scores in what I believe is related news to social media accounts and more so stick around it's going to be a good time and be sure to join us afterwards for the patron only show so on this week's Patron only show uh I learned I made this a main story as well but I thought we're probably not going to get a lot of time to really dig into it because we have four pretty big stories but if at the end I may give it like a brief little mention so I learned about this thing that Claritin you know Claritin is the allergy you know um they make the uh I don't know the anti-allergy medicine yes it's not Benadryl because it doesn't make you drowsy it's it's Claritin and um they have uh started something called the diversity project which helps to fight pollen levels one female tree at a time and and the theory is okay that because of patriarchy we planted too many male trees and male and that that's a that's a thing it's not it's not common because plants by and large have both male and female gametes but there are some trees that are male and some trees that are female or at least more male and more female and so because there's too many male trees there's too much pollen because the male trees are just [ __ ] on everything and something has to be done about it so Claritin has started this thing called the diversity project we're going to look at the website on the in the after show I'm sure it will be very educational and we're gonna learn something about um that that very famous song by Rush about the trees so my goodness I I can attest to the fact that I I do get no raped every every string by Every Spring by trees it's it's terrible terrible thing but It just strikes me that adding more female trees along with the male trees would just cause the pollination to result in a larger number of little saplings and more trees yes so we will look at that in the patron show yes it it does seem like it would undermine the product itself why would Claritin want to make people less allergenic well there's I think that there is some some uh speculation we could get into but uh that is the patron so so if you want to join us for this interesting look at arborist misogyny uh why don't you join us as a patron and to do that go to feed the badger.com start up a monthly subscription five bucks a month will get you into the Discord well you better watch all of the bonus content and uh yeah what we normally post it in the Discord you can just go in there and watch it just like you're watching this right now and if you get it hot if you give at higher levels you'll have access to the actual chat rooms where we are talking so that way you can come in there and call us names or fight with us or add something or whatever it is that you want to do feed the badger.com to to uh give us your monthly support five bucks a month without get you into Discord and there's a lot going on there and if you want to make sure that our Channel or like that you can still find our content in the event that we get needed from the internet go to badgerfeed.com or honeybadgerradio.com so that you can do that all right so with all that out of the way let us get into today's stories and Mike J is back so welcome back to the show Mike and tell us a little bit about the Starbucks thing oh thank you Brian it is good to be back so the Starbucks thing uh we're going to go over a little bit of a retread here just to bring everybody up to speed especially if you haven't heard about this although I don't know how you could not have heard about this but uh here we go in 2018 a famous incident occurred at a New Jersey area Starbucks in which two black men who were loitering at the store and not ordering anything asked to use the bathroom the men were told they could not since they were not customers and were asked to leave the store the men claimed that they were waiting at the store for a business meeting to happen and refused to purchase anything and again insisted that the store let them use the bathroom which just paused the Reddit for a second I always found it weird like if you're such a big high power important business person way to do a business meeting could you not just buy a two dollars a scone yeah right one of those you know actually I don't get into the uh I don't think anything in Starbucks is left is is uh two dollars or less but there's got to be something yeah chocolate covered almonds I don't know well the other problem is that that I mean Starbucks is really overrated yeah it's not really that you're so if there is anything there that's uh you know under two bucks it's like worth a quarter probably but anyway it's not just overpriced it's the the food and the coffee is just not that good we digress but go ahead I hate this I I hate to go further off course but I damn it I hate the fact that I feel compelled to defend Starbucks because a lifetime ago over 15 years ago when I was in high school and like the thing that sucks about California is there's no point dressing warmly in in the morning when it's cold because you're just going to regret that in the afternoon when it warms up yeah so like I had to wait for the bus outside out front of a Starbucks for about an hour to get to school every day because I had zero period for my senior year and eventually I just started going into Starbucks they were the nicest people they never asked me to buy anything they never asked me to do anything they let me use the bathroom if I want to I started buying just like hot chocolate from there just because I felt obligated and they were cool they also didn't care that I would like drink half of it and then like sneak over to like the half and half and the milk and just fill it back up with milk so even at that point in time once upon a time they were nice people but yeah let you use the facilities that let you use the internet they just don't let you hang around on sofas for several hours occasionally going to the bathroom perhaps with someone else who walked in just now because yeah we never did get you know the full story as to what those two gentlemen appeared to be doing well I guess we've got eyewitness testimonies as to what they appeared to be doing but we don't quite know the full story yeah but and and it was um it was uh kind of a weird story because if I remember right they'd when it first came out they didn't even want to tell the cops what they were doing in there um yeah I know but I there isn't anything about getting in trouble with grifters that is going to redeem Starbucks for me because of how disappointed I was when I moved to Dayton I like I I used to live in Bluffton Ohio and work in Findlay and there was this unbelievably great actual you know little um downtown coffee shop one one store they didn't own like stores across the country that they had this terrific atmosphere and great coffee and the people that worked there were really nice and I that's where I learned to like coffee uh because I would stop I was a security guard at a at a plant in Findlay and I had to be up at night all night for that was my first real night job and then I came down to Dayton after being you know away from Findlay for a long time and then that coffee shop had closed too so I can't even get coffee there in Finland now um but there was Starbucks I'm like well you know Starbucks will be good I'll get Starbucks and it was just not anywhere near the quality and I the worst thing was at that time I moved down here and I was working at Speedway and Speedway was working on how great quality coffee they could make you know they wanted to do the thing McDonald's does where they get a reputation for having way better coffee than you expect at that type of establishment and they they succeeded um like none of the places that I've been to have you know gone up to the level of quality they had at the moon dog but um it was about the same between Speedway and Starbucks and I was just like ah this sucks I just spent five dollars for gas station coffee you know not thinking about it but I like I can understand why somebody might walk into a Starbucks and if they had to wait for somebody and that that's the only reason they were there like not want to buy something but at the same time like I've been a business owner and I've worked for smaller businesses and stuff and you're right it is very suspicious when someone comes into your business and just hangs around and doesn't buy anything and if you have a place that's like a restaurant or it you know like even um United Dairy Farmers has little restaurant style seating in some of their gas stations if you take up a seat that means somebody else that wants to buy something can't sit there and eat or drink and that's an annoyance in a food place if if you have seating you want it to be used by people who are paying customers and it's one thing for somebody to come in and wait you know 10 15 minutes is another thing for people to start using your facilities and everything in a facility costs money and then if you're in a neighborhood where there are people who are less considerate of the facilities I think I've told enough bathroom stories from from Speedway for people to realize you know what I I I don't want people coming in and using our bathroom without um without having at least some connection uh you know where they paid for something because gas stations let people do that all the time and people who have been drinking and they're going to be sick that's where they go gas station bathrooms you know people who um don't want to blow up their bathroom after eating something they shouldn't have eaten go to the gas station uh and you know people who have some weird shenanigan fetish for drawing on the wall and poop also go to the gas station and I wouldn't want if I ran a coffee shop like I would not want that to become the way people treated our bathroom so it was not unreasonable to say you got to be a paying customer to use a bathroom but in some states it might be illegal barely have a public bathroom it has to be open to the whole public it's a fairly common practice to say that you have to be paying customer to use the bathrooms it makes all the sense nothing controversial about that at all but go ahead Mike finish the thing back to the back to the store so they want to use the bathroom they're not willing to buy anything the employees are sketched out they get the word call the police so the store employees call the cops and the two men are removed from the store trespassed from the store and this sparked a big online kerfuffle and an offline Uprising against Starbucks as many ill-informed idiots accused the extremely Progressive company of racism the company finally relented and publicly announced that they would allow anyone to use the bathrooms regardless of their status as a customer they closed down hundreds of stores for a day to force employees to undergo cult diversity training and eventually donated money to Black lives matter though now that I think about it I can't remember if those two things were exactly connected but it's successful so what most people don't know about this incident and the meat and potatoes of this story is that uh during all this drama another drama was playing out where the former Starbucks regional manager Shannon Phillips was terminated from the company as a direct response to the incident curiously the store's supervisor of the employee who was the one who ended up placing the call to the police that day was not fired or reprimanded at all and I think things will start coming together when uh when when I point out that it should be noted that the supervisor the one who was not fired in any capacity or even reprimanded well the one who instructed the employee to call the police I do believe that's how it went is black and that's this regional manager Shannon Phillips is white Phillips argued her firing was racially motivated and that Starbucks was looking for a white scapegoats despite her not having any direct part in the police being called that day taking them to court Starbucks claimed she was a bad employee and a worse manager but the jury sided with Phillips and her version of events ultimately awarding her over 25 million dollars in Damages this is an interesting way of tracking this poisonous ideology you know to kind of set the die in the organ system to see where it goes to see which institutions and which levels of them are completely captured um which which fields of vision or whatever are completely covered and which areas and sectors of of society are still capable of pushing back I suppose it's no surprise that the boundary at this point is at the level of regional manager if it's a store manager and and that they happen to be white or male that's the scalp we're looking for and we can get if it's just an employee and they're white or male that's that's the entire body we're gonna throw in the part and sacrifice to the blood God if it's the general public and their wine mouth forget about it that's just the dirt on our shoes we only think about it for as many seconds as it takes to scrape it off our aforementioned shoes and needless to say if you're at the other end of the spectrum you'll you'll never have to worry about this ideology coming for you if your name is Biden you can go ahead and and then suck the adrenochrome out of live black babies kidneys every morning and the worst you'll get is not even a slap on the wrist stroke of the shoulder while everyone yells look over there and that other thing But Here we are now we know roughly where the line is at this point though it is a moving line if you are a regional manager then at this point in history you you might have the money and resources to to stand your ground and and go ahead and say x [ __ ] excuse me you can't just go around calling people racist and ruining their lives at the least you can't do it to me yet so now Now's the Time to push back up a middle management folks out there make the most of it because it won't be long before you get it encompassed into the fold as well in into the boundaries of the blob and and and then it's time for the the ones above you the corporate managers just to start sweating into their self handkerchiefs or whatever these if you can if you can push back enough regional managers of the world if you can get behind a cause that can actually reverse this this descent into madness then you might never fall into the danger zone and when you've achieved that Victory don't just leave it there like one run below you where the store managers can still be sacrificed to this mob because then it's still right at your doorstep where it could still turn around and devalue at any moment like the blob it is you need to keep going until the store managers are safe the line managers are safe and even the dude who cleans the toilets has the freedom to say out loud hey there are two criminals obviously dealing crack in the men's room can can we can we can we maybe do something about it and and then then then maybe we could have a society again maybe maybe we can have nice things again like coffee you know you know when someone somewhere is allowed to draw the line between the nice thing that is coffee and the nice thing that is crack even when it's black guys dealing it I don't know I know I you know honestly I think the only thing that saved this uh regional manager is the fact that she could not be said to be directly involved in the incident right I mean you have a situation there where the training that the staff was acting on was corporate policy not Regional policy because regional managers do make policy and I I discovered that when I was working at another company that had overlapping regions uh or rather regions overlapping a community where I lived and so if you substituted at a different store you might be in a different region and there were some policies that were different in regard to you know how you had to handle certain things in that would have that would have done it if this policy had been a regional manager policy she'd have been toast but since it was corporate she didn't have anything to do with the situation at all and she could go into court and say I had literally nothing to do with the situation there was no reason to mistake that I had something to do with the situation I was sacrificed and that's it that's enough you go into court um being able to say you were sacrificed having nothing to do with the situation then it becomes a question of why and we are fortunate in the United States that it is still under the law considered discrimination to do something like that and you can you can at least get your employer on wrongful discharge if you just they just grab a random person of your skin color to sacrifice because uh public disaster public relations disaster and that's what happened so there's there's at least even though the court system is profoundly broken and our political system is profoundly broken there's at least that silver lining that our civil court system does get it right sometimes so that was an expensive way for Starbucks to maintain their ESG score and their corporate index score it only cost them 25 and a half million dollars um no it's probably not a lot for Starbucks but it's good for this woman to to fight this because too many people you know when this [ __ ] happens to them they just kind of buckle and say well I guess I was being racist and she finally said you know what this is [ __ ] and not just because you know it didn't operate it or her level I mean I like why it went to her because she's white they targeted her because she's white they didn't do it for any other reason somebody had to go they were making a giant stink about it the race Hustlers were out there the the the the guys that were inside the Starbucks conducting business where they were just they were just using their victimhood as a weapon just like feminists do it's the same tactics and this woman finally said you know what this is not fair but the truth is that never should have been a story to begin with never it never should have been a story I I guarantee you that the employee that made the call was was not why fight the manager was not white that's why they didn't go after them they went out to the regional because that was the first white person up on the chain that they could Target and that was and and that's what they call anti-racism like they're it's ridiculous if this should never have happened to begin with I don't I don't I will not make any excuses for these people they are awful this is awful Behavior no one should be doing this and um frankly it pisses me off like a lot you know I'm I go to Starbucks sometimes I don't really care about the quality of the company they they have a right to exist and not have to deal with these people harassing them and using their own [ __ ] ideology against them sorry for saying the r word I'm gonna get us in trouble I guess it's like the thing you can't say now um but yeah I mean like this weaponization of victimhood it has to end I mean I feel like I've been spinning my wheels and talking about this for like on this show for 10 years and so like it just so I'm glad that she did this I hope more people follow suit I do think that a lot of people are really getting tired of this stuff you know and and it's it's exhausting I mean Starbucks like recently removed or banned the I don't know if band is the right word but they basically like no longer uh display the pride Flags this month they had them taken down and of course course like the G Mafia got mad about it but it's like people are sick of this sick of it like find some joy in your life and live it stop forcing your [ __ ] on everybody that's what this is it's the same thing oh you can't let me go in your bathroom and smoke crack for like an hour because I'm black no because you're doing that because you're not buying products like this the idea that you can't use a bathroom of a restaurant or cafe or store or whatever and that that's only for paying customers that's not a crazy idea that's not radical like some people will do it some won't but if they don't allow it that doesn't mean anything it's just their policy why are you meeting there anyway go to the Dunkin Donuts maybe they won't care I don't know but you see like I will point out one other thing though because um like we've made a lot of references to specific reasons why they might have been in there that information is unknown we don't have that information so we can't be sure exactly what they were doing in there no their story could be completely legitimate but it doesn't like I there there are things you can do that are completely legitimate in a story that will make you look like you're suspicious or they will make the um employees nervous about you and and it's just uh it's just a thing that makes um sense for you to recognize you know this is a business establishment it's a retail establishment this this actually has happened to me the other day but people have a right bringing stuff to be suspicious yes they have the right to be suspicious this happened to me the other day I was ringing stuff up at a register and I used a hand scanner to scan something in my cart and then I put it in the bag and the camera didn't see me scan it and it didn't see me um run it across the scanner and it's not connected so that it gets the information from the hand scanner that yes this item was rung up so it stopped the transaction the automatic teller or uh the the checkout machine stop the transaction and I had to wait for somebody to come over and confirm that the item was actually scanned and before I could actually continue the transaction and it for a second it was like gosh you guys are treating me like a thief even though I rang this up and then I thought you know that's just the way the technology Works they're not doing anything because of me they're doing something because the the system isn't made to handle things being done the way I just did it and uh I've been too fast for those things too and had them um stop the transaction because of that and it's not this person looks suspicious or anything about you know demographic or anything like that it's that the technology is not perfected but if I was a grifter and had anything about me that I could be like well you just did this because I'm this um it would be it would become a situation where I you know I could do the same thing to somebody at that store that these guys did to to the regional manager and in most cases people get away with it when I worked at uh one of my earliest jobs in Dayton a guy came in and did this um he did it for a gift card from the company he came in and um just behaved in a in an odd Manner and then bought uh you know like 50 bucks worth of stuff in an establishment where you usually see people's in in-store expenditures being fairly minor and uh and then handed over a credit card and I had a I had a co-worker that if you you know bought a lot of stuff if you spent a lot she would ask to compare your signature to the signature on on your license and you know this was we we didn't have um the machines at that time that you swipe your own card uh like and she got fired and he got a gift card because he said she she only asked him because he was black and the way he he proved it was he had somebody come in behind him and buy a pack of gum and she kept saying no the difference is one was a 50 purchase and the other one was like a dollar purchase it's a big difference and but that still got her fired and there was literally nothing they would they would hear from her they hung up on her they you know kicked her out of the room everything she was just that good this is it you're you're the sacrifice we're gonna give this guy a gift card and you're the sacrifice we never found out how big of a gift card he got um but he did cost her her income she had to go find another job and and that was during a recession so yeah and he didn't know anything about her right um also I'm wondering uh because I just thought about this uh I think Starbucks employees are like required to join a union um did the Union stick up for her I wonder um I did something that I would I would ask because I have a feeling they wouldn't uh because unions tend to be woke too and they destroy people's lives or they allow them to be destroyed so I know there are people who love unions but that's the truth uh there are probably better ways to defend workers like rights so I'm not saying that workers shouldn't have rights I'm saying unions might not be the best way to do it it's kind of like saying I don't like public schools and people think you don't want kids to be educated no I don't like public schools yeah that's a different thing so and that their if their Union is the retail Union it's it's not like people who are familiar with like the teamsters and those unions um have expectations of how a union serves the employees I've been a member of um the retail Union and it is absolute [ __ ] yeah my wife not it's not a real Union yeah my wife my wife worked at a grocery store we were in Chicago and the she had like the union there was no choice in it you had to join it and it didn't do anything for her it did they didn't do anything for her so I'm saying yeah yeah so anyway I'm wondering about that because it looks like she may have had to fight this battle on her own uh and I will point out also because uh cockpit monkey said we'll stop using self-checkout they don't pay you and you don't get to use the break room well the answer to that is in in a lot of the stores in my neighborhood like they're eliminating jobs in neighborhoods like mine before they eliminate jobs and neighborhoods that you know where where your rent is double or triple mine um I there is no regular checkout they eliminated all of the checkouts they closed two stores that were on either end of the neighborhood and the people that worked at those stores um they combine them into a much bigger store but their jobs are all now lifting and bending and and stocking shelves and stuff like that they don't they don't work at the registers they don't have checkout that is not self-checkout when I go in there um there there those are all closed those are only open during certain parts of the day and uh they're doing that more and more in neighborhoods like mine in this area um partly because nobody will work for the wages that they're paying so they're just eliminating the jobs altogether yeah yeah I mean uh where I work or when I work where I shop some some there's one there's a Food Lion and the Food Lion doesn't have any self-checkout so I prefer going there over any other place it's also the closest but at the and the Kroger also has a mix but like the CVS where I have to go to get my meds and stuff um like there's like one person that kind of oversees all the self-checkouts in case someone needs to like have their ID checked or something like that so yeah that's true that it's happening but like in the cases where there is one I would agree that maybe you should just go with the human being you know because a lot of times the self-checkouts have glitches and problems or like I bought some Benadryl because um I I need to I have I have an allergy so I bought some Benadryl today and they uh the machine I was buying it with the auto and it was like saying oh you need a someone to come over and you know like scan their your ID or whatever you have to get your age checked because you're too you know we don't have ID for this Benadryl which I didn't know there was an age limit on but there you go oh yeah here's why there are there's this trend now um and this is really dangerous and stupid and I'm not gonna get into the whole Rabbit Hole of the Hat Man and all that [ __ ] right I'm not gonna confirm or deny I was on Benadryl for years and years okay I can confirm the spiders um and that's you don't have to overdose on spawn Benadryl for the spiders happen you just have to be on it for years now I I see spiders when I wake up before I fully wake up um but and like crawling across the ceiling like the size of my hand like that's really but here's the thing Benadryl does screw you up if you overdose on it and I'm not just talking about your head it is um it's not just an antihistamine it can make you drowsy yeah and it can also do physical damage to your liver and your kidneys and your heart so if you know somebody that's messing around with this stupid Trend um maybe suggest to them that they they find some other less harmful way to see things that aren't there plain to them that it's not a hallucinogen yeah delirium yeah it is not a fun trippy and one with nature trip it is it's a bad trip have an hour-long conversation with your mother before you realize she died five years ago trip yes yeah um which like that that that kind of happens in your dreams anyway after you've lost people but unfortunately like Benadryl is more likely to cause night terrors than good dreams it's not good for that and and there are people who also give it to their children to make them sleep and don't do that either that's that's dangerous to the child you can do permanent damage to the child's growing body doing that yeah so of course because people abuse stuff like that it's just like with um uh the the cough medicine that uh well NyQuil is one of them but it's it's all of the ones that have the decongestant I can't think of the name of the deacons I don't take decongestants okay um but well they make me sick but in any case um there's one that you can't get without your driver's license because it makes a mess if if they abuse it enough and uh that one that's been that way since oh gosh the 2010s yeah because when I worked at a pharmacy it was that way already for quite some time before I started working at that Pharmacy and uh that's they've done that with several medicines it's not an expectorant it's um shoot Sudafed it's a Sudafed yeah if it's the ephedra uh and they've done it so much they've uh regulated it so much that you can't even get there's an herb a Chinese herb called ma Wang that has ephedra natural ephedra in it huh no it's actually called that it's spelled h-a-u-n-g but it's pronounced Wang um but in any case that that was used to see you just going up asking for mauling communication you can't get it now because of ephedra but it's like a tiny percentage of what's in the pills you if you wanted to make meth out of that you would have to have like a warehouse full of just that herb to be able to make wait what they do with the the pills um but because of all this like the bottom line what I'm getting at with the Benadryl and all that [ __ ] is this is a result of trying to regulate people's uh entertainment seeking and and you know using um using substances and stuff and it doesn't work and all it ends up doing is causing inconveniencing people at the cash register where they have to turn over their license but it doesn't actually prevent drug use it doesn't prevent purchasing enough to make the the bad [ __ ] out of it uh none of that yeah so all right uh we gotta move on to the next story but before awesome we got some super chats yeah I was gonna say before that I have some super trials and stuff so I'm going to read through these really quick um all right so I got an anonymous super Chow yesterday so I might as well just read it for five bucks uh yesterday we did a show talking about how there is going to be a Velma season two and I wanted to discuss like how to do parody well um and as an example I took an episode of a show called The Venture Brothers I'm explaining this because it seems how many people have never heard of Adventure Brothers It's not that old is it no it's from the 20s it's from the 2000 like late 2000s sort of like the mid to late 2000s yeah so 2005 something like that but anyway yeah but the problem is it was only on like Adult Swim at like 4 a.m yeah it was only on Adult Swim it's it's a great show basically you can really know about it if you were a night owl yeah exactly yeah um and you had access to the first episode and they only heard one of them one off yeah 2004 they started airing them regularly yeah and and you had to have uh Cartoon Network as well which I didn't so I didn't really get to watch the show those are the Glory Days of torrenting when that yeah not another eye or anyone I know has ever done that yeah it's just something I heard of Through the Grapevine every now and then you know someone sent us a super Chow in relation to what we discussed on the show and they said I should read this but I don't want to respond to it because we have already gone for 45 minutes and we only finished the first story so uh Anonymous gives us five bucks and says I saw the episode I've seen all the episodes it's definitely woke [ __ ] in my eyes it's referring to the Venture Brothers um they made him pathetic referring to Brock I've seen many feminists adjacent [ __ ] like that before I don't care if she apologized I mean look at how men are viewed why wouldn't a feminist write something like that there's a spectrum to feminism just because they're not on the far left side of feminism doesn't mean they're not woke or woke adjacent like I said I don't believe they would try that [ __ ] with Black Dynamite because he's basically the Black version of Brock Samson except because he's black he gets a special plot armor that protects him against that type of [ __ ] thank you Anonymous uh maybe I'll respond to that some other time I have to watch the rest of the show anyway so I couldn't really speak to what you're saying but I am enjoying myself so far rat gives us five dollars and says doomed doomed are these such insects that would prick pinholes in the gods while their own unfettered ooze doth eat away at their tenements thou Dost hide in the shade of thine own shadow son of man retribution is not choice but divine wind you shall not see the calm which doth Chase it you will die you will die yeah that's if you if you go to my channel and look at most popular yo you'll find that exact brand it's called squirrel versus rat trap oh yeah okay and then lastly in a relevant super Chow Meredith gives us five bucks it says hbr news number 410 Starbucks didn't just lose the 25.6 million the policy changes the company made for publicly available bathrooms cost them a lot of money and they had to reverse the policy Dei will get companies coming and going yes yes yeah thank you for that Meredith um and I agree and I I I've you know we just have to we just have to respond accordingly fight if you are if you feel like you're being persecuted and you feel like it's you know uh unfair based on your race or gender or whatever you should definitely fight back because especially if you're part of the privileged group because they're the ones that are going to get targeted and you should make them pay for it I mean literally if possible so thanks um for that and let me read I got one more Super Chat this time from YouTube nothing from Rumble yet what's up Rumble Squad Richard beer gives us a dollar 99 and says once you make management union doesn't rep you ah see that's true that's true but you still have to pay union dues yeah um but you have to be like depending on the retail establishment there's a level of management you can make a lower management like shift managers get represented uh but store managers don't but they still have to pay union dues yeah because that's that was that way at my store but even if they technically represent you according to the dues that you've paid they don't necessarily do the things that they say they're going to do to represent you and I will say I was I was working at a union retail establishment when Walmart's employees started agitating locally here in the Dayton area for unionization and they came to our Union meetings and they found out I don't know if they did unionize or not but they found out they already made more money per hour at their jobs than we were making at our union jobs that's how effective the retail Union is I'm shocked I tell you shocked all right so let us know what you guys think about this in the comments we're going to move on to the next story uh we're going to talk a little bit about Amazon so Mike J I'm going to give you the floor again so uh once again similar kind of story here and uh this one's gonna go a little bit long I I wrote it yesterday and then I added an addendum and then today I decided I could do better and uh got a little long in the tooth but there's a lot here that needs saying all right we won't interrupt just go ahead and read through it Brandon Jackson who lives in Baltimore Maryland was puzzled when he came home to discover that all of his smart devices that were connected through his Amazon Echo were not working Jackson who owned what is referred to as a Smart House had most of the common household amenities such as security cameras and lighting connected to other devices for ease of use ultimately united through some sort of Amazon product so it's all there in one convenient package to work through but with his Amazon devices not functioning that caused other smart devices to either not work or become harder to access thinking that this must have been the faults of the hacks or otherwise compromised email Jackson checked but found everything fine calling Amazon themselves also proved fruitless and restoring his services but the Amazon rep did tell him how to proceed the rep explained that an Amazon executive had emailed him a phone number and he was to call it contacting the amazonic SEC Jackson was met with a mild amount of hostility as he was asked if he knew why his Services were terminated when he responded to he did not know why the exec grew accusatory and told him that he had made several of racist remarks at one of Amazon's delivery drivers and that was the reason for the termination of his services Jackson was taken aback by these claims not only did he deny doing any such thing but he had the evidence to back it up as his home camera system could prove no one was home at the time of the incidents and the only thing that the delivery driver could have heard was Jackson's automated response which replies excuse me can I help you checking the video of the doorbell camera and that is exactly what happened Jackson noted that the delivery man was wearing headphones at the time and must have misinterpreted what was said by the automated doorbell system one small aside something I didn't learn until uh earlier here or later I should say um the delivery driver Jackson himself and the part of town they live in Baltimore Maryland they're all black well Baltimore is a very black part of Maryland yeah it is Jackson is black the delivery driver was black everyone was black in this all the way around just gonna let that one hang there so with this slam dunk evidence you would think his name would be cleared in his account and services would be restored immediately followed by a groveling apology from the company and maybe some sort of recompense that a man accused of one of the greatest sins you could have committed in 2023 would be expected to receive for being accused or something like that but alas very little of this happened it took well over a week for his services to be restored in his account to be unlocked and the whole time Amazon kept him in the dark concerning their internal investigation he received no apology no admission of wrongdoing on their end and no reimbursement for the time his Services were down after having the services restored Jackson stated the following quote after nearly a decade of loyalty I'd been given a harsh reminder that a misunderstanding can lead to such drastic measures it seems more reasonable to handle such issues in a more compartmentalized way rather than a blanket shutdown of all services due to this experience I am seriously considering discontinuing my use of Amazon Echo devices and will caution others about this incident end quote Amazon and keep in mind this is only after being pressured to release some sort of statement to the media release the following to several media Outlets quote we work hard to provide customers with a great experience while also ensuring drivers who deliver Amazon packages feel safe in this case we learned through our investigation that the customer did not act inappropriately and We're working directly with the customer to resolve their concerns while also looking at ways to prevent a similar situation from happening again end quote I would just like to say that we at Honey Badger radio do not condone the actions of the late erstwhile Mr Ted Kaczynski such a cruel deluded and violently unhinged character is not and never should be subject to reverence or celebration in no way shape or form should any party or parties conduct any parties looking upon Mr kaczynski's Manifesto and concluding any rash activated conclusions to what is outlined in such a document I mean who is possibly to say who is right and who is wrong all we can say is that a thing and its consequences are two separate Concepts and overall we know it it is one or the other that have that has been a disaster for mankind and all its subsidiaries but yeah this really seems like the kind of thing that science fiction should have warned us about and it and it has it's probably more than one episode of The Jetsons skirting around this particular topic what if you find yourself living in a computerized construct of a house and that computer malfunctions there are a million different ways that that could happen that a code could encounter some kind of malfunction and that's just in terms of malfunctions this story is not I would remind you about a malfunction it's not a bug it is in fact a feature and the whole thing shut down because of one passing human error the error in question was not even an honest mistake it was randomly malicious someone heard excuse me how can I help you and somewhere in their brain they're grievance-stricken victim mentality smooth brain that's programmed to see racism everywhere the racism Was Heard somewhere that's all it takes one disgruntled woke employee just needs to call up and say I thought I tore a puddy tat and done [ __ ] Wallop some dude is now homeless for the foreseeable future and if that's all it takes imagine what kind of internet scams are gonna flock into this Brave New World of opportunity it's already disturbingly easy for some desk monkey in Calcutta to remotely lock you out of your computer well if your computer is your house guess what they can do I'm very sorry Ethel but you're locked out of your house and your cat is going to slowly starve to death along with your two visiting grandchildren unless you buy 10 gift cards from Amazon and give me the Redemption because yes and again that's just the illegitimate scams yeah I'm sat here imagining what criminals might do with Smart Homes in the future but it's nothing compared to what's happening right now in the present and apparently above board and perfectly legally if someone falsely accuses you of racism if some random dog's body jobs worth false the occasion of racism then you have to jump through a series of Hoops just to enter your own home imagine if a regional manager okay she accuses you of racism and that accusation sticks then what then you just have to find another home I guess you've got to start all over again sorry Amazon owns this house now good luck citizen life is a journey not a destination happy trails so yeah just in case anyone needed a wake-up call regarding smart houses for the love of God don't do it I know we all appreciate labor-saving devices here and there but there are places that even the laziest person has to say yeah no that's too far if putting a physical key in a physical lock is too much effort for you you are definitely too lazy and having a steel glass door that can and will lock you out of your house because of nothing more than a spontaneous piece of juvenile he said she said [ __ ] then your laziness is going to be faced with its greatest challenge ever maybe that's for the best day sloth is a sin after all this is the sin biting you on the ass what goes around comes around it's karma as they say now if we only had a mechanism in place for teaching us a lesson about the sin of pride or lust for that matter but yeah one story at a time well this could have been that mechanism like if it had been a female carrier because there are plenty of female carriers she could have just as easily made the charge of you know this this person hit on me this person said something sexist you know anything along those lines that's the thing a company having the right to turn off devices that give you access to your home that they don't own even if even if you only rent all of your electronic devices which is basically where we are right now you don't own your phone you don't own your computer you don't own any of the the smart devices you can get uh they could shut them off without your permission and and you have no recourse but to deal with the company you can make a public stink and and maybe the outrage will have an effect but when you use those things you sign a contract that you know you you basically you won't mess with it you don't own it you they can do what they want with it and so on um you're agreeing to things that honestly uh really you're only you would only agree to that for convenience if you didn't consider the fact that you just paid hundreds of dollars on you know dozens of uh uh little efforts every day at your job that all of your labor goes to um to uh to buy something to buy access to something that can be controlled outside of your uh intentions at the whim of the company that actually owns it and and uh that's where we are right now there's a movement to change that but there shouldn't have to be and I I kind of wonder if the workforce had remained primarily of the gender that doesn't value safety nets over freedom and that does value their labor and does value the um the risk and the sacrifice that goes into earning things would we have been so quick as a as a Workforce to sign those user agreements and and to turn our objects into things that we only rent from a company that can from a distance take it away take away your access take away function change the way it works so that you have to relearn how to use the damn thing every few months um so that it doesn't mesh with your old software and you have to buy new software and so on and uh I I think that that might be a big part of the problem is that generally speaking and women are quick to adopt this stuff and then it becomes the norm and then you can't get away from it and that's why we end up in a situation where a man can get locked out of his home even just temporarily based on anything the fact is if the guy had said something from inside his home that was profoundly racist it still should not have resulted in this action you know maybe Amazon could have stopped delivery to his home while our delivery drivers don't have to come to your home because you're an [ __ ] and we don't have to deal with [ __ ] their labor is worth something too but these devices are not related these devices don't have anything to do with him you know and and or do with anything he said and they don't have anything to do with his relationship to any delivery people that come to his home so that's a totally different story uh and and they don't there's not a real justification for cutting off services that don't have anything to do with the incident and don't have anything to do with the driver's experience um granted he didn't do what he was accused of but even if he had this was still wrong yeah exactly it really doesn't matter at the end of the day what this says is that guy doesn't own that smart home Amazon does so that that means that he's giving them money for something that doesn't belong to him and he doesn't have actual rights to that property they they fixed it up sure but it never should have happened to begin with and it doesn't matter he could have been there could have straight up been a klansman in there if you bought that product and it's yours that's that's how it should work if you pay for the service it's yours you know so and and I mean we can get into like how things have gotten so sensitive around these topics that Innocents are being harmed in fact that's basically the only people being harmed are innocent people in like 99 of these cases that have nothing to do with it doesn't matter that that guy was black I mean that only that's just the cherry on top that just makes it funnier but it shouldn't matter he could be he could be a white redneck with a swastika on his arm I don't care if he's paying for the service he should get the service so the only thing that you really should be thinking about is not whether or not all of the factors that Amazon responded to are valid or if there would be a scenario where they could be valid the only thing you should be thinking about is why is it people are giving money to a gigantic trillion dollar Corporation for something that they don't actually own that Amazon can take from the from them at any point is there like anyone on Earth that that has so much stuff of personal value that they would need to to put a smart home together to protect their [ __ ] and to like lock their doors and [ __ ] it's like do you just want to live on the Enterprise so you can just say computer you know like fine but you're you are putting your things at risk because if Amazon decides like if they if they get to the point where the ESG becomes something that happens to individuals because you gave them control over your devices that you paid for you you're basically just saying well I hope that you don't decide that I'm a bigot and take away all of my freedoms take away all my devices frankly you shouldn't need to do that like we can get a [ __ ] iron lock and lock your door like do it the old-fashioned way don't use the computer [ __ ] don't connect it I don't even want Elon musk's [ __ ] self-driving cars [ __ ] all that because you're giving too much power to people who don't even care about you who don't know your name to them you're just somebody who gives them money and you're not even getting you're not even getting property out of it so this is not capitalism by the way what were you gonna say Mike can we go back to moats yeah like just let's really dropped out of fashion dig a mode around and put some alligators in it 10 feet deep yeah yep maybe crocodiles I don't know yeah like the water that much too piranhas I mean I don't know yeah there we go yeah there we go just protect your [ __ ] the computer thing run faster than hounds yeah I'm sure they do and they're perfect little [ __ ] yeah or big [ __ ] they're fast they're scared so anyway just you know I'm saying I think that I think that our audience is smart enough to know that a smart home or anything like it is a bad bad idea that's one aside I wanted to make yeah if you're gonna do something like that build it yourself smart devices are not smart second greatest trick the devil ever pulled it was brilliant from a marketing standpoint you came in invented a problem and offered the perfect solution you know what you're you're telling me your toothbrush doesn't talk to your refrigerator why the [ __ ] not it's it's it's current year dude everyone's doing that and at the same time you know you invent problem solve problem cell solution separately from that too there's also that connotation of well I have a smart TV okay well I don't well if it's not a smart TV it must be a dumb TV yeah yeah because this guy owns a dumb TV wow didn't know you were still living in the Stone Age there it's a powered by a dinosaur exactly there was an episode of Star Trek the Next Generation Um where uh Riker made a meal for um I think three of his three of his crewmates and he did it manually he did it without the uh the replicator uh and it was terrible um like everyone hated it it except um except wolf who loved it because that's the joke because Klingons like things for humans humans ain't and it made me think well this this was supposed to present a flaw in in Riker's character in that he can't cook he's good at lots of things but he can't cook but as that scene played out I asked myself if if you can if you if you live in a futuristic uh gay space luxurious communism whatever it's called and and you have replicators that can make all your food for you then surely nobody can cook if that's all anyone has to do has to do it's not just Riker who can't cook nobody can cook why why would you learn to cook if you can have a machine that can literally just turn the hydrogen atoms from outer space into the whatever meal you want of course nobody would know how to cook no one would have the first idea what what a [ __ ] cast iron skillet even is yep and and and that's the case with with every aspect of this because we think once we have replicators that can take base atoms and turn them into food well that would that will surely be the linkage pin that can take us to this capitalist hellhole in into this uh luxurious gay space communism thing that they've been talking about yeah every step of this is only going to hold us back I'm given that the vast majority of people are going to have to live on planets and they are going to have to to to be able to be in touch with the nature from whence they came oh well whence means why but whatever but every the idea that people would be able to to live this futuristic environment without being in touch with with how to at least I'm I'm not talking about being a Bear Grylls I'm not talking about being able to live in the jungle right just on your own yeah just having some basic skills like like uh you know growing livestock or hunting yeah and and it's so difficult to walk to walk the line between these technological advantages that are obviously life-changingly important yep like the ability to communicate is that even that's a double-edged sword but it's it's clearly something improved by the technological age yeah but not everything is um being able to cook food shouldn't be I think no matter how advanced we get we should always be able to to cook food and we should always be able to go in and out of our houses I mean uh um does that make me a Luddite yeah not anything to be embarrassed about yep we just don't know where to draw the line yeah we haven't we haven't found a a an appropriate social political point and yeah it is such political uh which to to draw the line at what point do we say we have saved enough labor some amount of Labor is actually good for us yeah it will end up like like those fat bastards on floating chairs yeah yeah exactly um well honestly it's it's not even always about saving labor like if you look at the the Smart car thing um some of that sort of started with can't think of the name of the I want to say it was OnStar um that had a you were uh attached you you had a um a hookup to a remote room full of people basically in your car um and you you if anything happened you push the button and called them and they would call an ambulance for you or if you could remotely stop your car if somebody stole it and blah blah blah and I remember the commercials for this I never saw a male driver in the commercials it was always some chick in distress and OnStar some guy at OnStar uh would give her the reassurance that you know that there was an ambulance coming the police had been called whatever um or you know her car had been stopped at this location or that location and it was all about you're in danger uh you know which is funny because if somebody's gonna steal a car they're not gonna steal one of those nice new cars that you could put something like that in they're gonna steal from me because they can take my car my van and part it out all right they sell a whole bunch of little things off of it and the the cops can't trace it because it's old you know that kind of thing yeah and I know this because we've had Vehicles stolen more than once from us for for various reasons it's easier to break into older cars it's easier to sell older cars and it's easier to take the parts off of them and and sell the parts um yes yes Richard beer remembers this too the thief the car thief was male in the OnStar commercial right and and that to me it they they sort of they're playing on fears that people talk women into having and they're basically taking away little bits and pieces of your Independence your autonomy your freedom and as soon as you give it all up you do get to the point where a you're helpless and B you are now vulnerable to being controlled using the very Independence you were using yeah to to uh protect yourself whereas um if you learned how I feel like you really want a smart home learn how to put those things together right that's a computer that just is uh attached to electronic devices that that uh pick up signals from it and that's it you don't have to have Amazon do that for you if you're really desperate to have a house that's that's all uh connect interconnected like that create something like that just learn how to third party Raspberry Pi for instance well you just yeah you could do that you can you can um learn how to build your own computer systems you can learn how to attach them to devices uh you there are you can go to well I don't even know if Radio Shack still exists but when I worked at Radio Shack there were ways at that point you had um devices that you could put your light on a timer and you could you know your living room lights would come on at a certain time of night or day based on this timer you could do the same thing with your television people used to do that if they were going to go on vacation for two weeks to set it up so that at you know five o'clock their television would come on so it would look like they came home from work and turned on their TV and it was to discourage someone from breaking in the house because it convinces them that there's a person inside and if someone's going to break into a house they're they're more likely to pick one where they aren't going to get confronted by a gun waving homeowner you know um or or even somebody's gonna beat the [ __ ] out of them like people not knowing how to do these things themselves and and uh people not people valuing these things without knowing how to do them themselves and without knowing um what's entailed in it that's why people end up in that that um that situation you know and and the bad thing about it is like 90 of the population 99 of the population could go without that stuff but we have gotten to a point now where people with certain types of disabilities are being made reliant on that stuff and they're not necessarily going to be able to just reject it there are a lot of Smart Homes out there that are being given to for instance disabled veterans and they aren't necessarily going to be able to turn around and say well I'm going to get rid of all this stuff and and still live in this home and maybe attached to a device to get them into or out of a house that they may otherwise not have the mobility to enter if you can't go upstairs you know so there are things like that that like we can't tolerate this but at the same time if people just reject it uh and and put pressure on these companies then you're not just protecting yourself and your freedom you are also protecting people who cannot turn this stuff down yeah I'll just say be Discerning look at the individual things and say well do I really need that and decide based on that and if you feel like you're what you're getting is going to give you less control over your own property I would certainly question that as well so that's why I don't use Mac products by the way because uh Apple they they basically like make everything you know uh its own sort of ecosystem so if you need repairs you have to go to the Apple Store if you need or if you or you uh invalidate your your warranty if you need parts you have to buy them right from Apple like that's the way that they do it and at least with a PC you know you can do whatever you can get Linux you can buy your product you know parts from wherever you want and build your own [ __ ] that's the freedom that I I would like so I kind of started it with when I decided never to buy Apple products and I I don't want to appeal to literal definitions but Apple marketed themselves as being different from a personal computer yes because an apple is not personal computer an apple is not your computer it's Apple's computer yes so anyway let us know what you guys think about this in the comments uh what do you think about smart devices uh we we know they've gone too far but I guess the question is where do you draw the line some people don't want to use smartphones anymore some people ban Apple products some people would stop at the smart home or the Smart car um let us know what you guys think about that in the comments all right so I got some super chats we're gonna move on to the next story Richard beer gives us 1.99 and says I'm sorry Dave I can't do that Hal 9000. and then he gives another dollar 99 and says I know what you said Dave I saw your lips moving all right so we're gonna try to send that to an Alexa I tried that one so I tried to catch him Alexa out by saying Alexa open the pod bay doors and she went I'm sorry Dave I'm afraid my ass [ __ ] yeah if I actually had pod bay doors you wouldn't be opening them right now you'd be giving me lip next time ask her if the slow blade penetrates the shield see if she gets that one all right um so uh next story the U.N Secretary General Antonio Gutierrez pictured here proposed a global digital compact GDC for international laws against hate and lies online or misinformation in a tweet announcing the compact he wrote quote the proliferation of hate and lies in the division in the digital space is causing grave Global harm this clear and present Global threat demands clear and coordinated Global action we don't have a moment to lose wow there's a lot being said there that's kind of not being said but it's there the GDC is focused on inequality condemning that quote some 89 percent of people in Europe are online but only 21 percent of women in low-income countries use the internet end quote the brief claims quote digital technology has led to massive gains in productivity and value but these benefits are not resulting in shared Prosperity end quote and that this this inequality is in part to be blamed on quote hate speech and quote and quote disinformation end quote the GDC says to counter the serious risks to Human Rights is to build a robust accountability criteria and standards for digital platforms and users to address this information hate speech and other harmful online content however the writers of the UN report admitted that the distinction between myths and disinformation can be subtle and difficult to determine but trust us we know what we're doing without providing any further details the UN has condemned and uh criticism of international climate change policy which the board sees as settled science Skeptics of policies related to climate change or vaccines for example not you know not specific just throwing it out there would be more than likely by spreading misinformation according to the U.N so not disinformation at that point they can differentiate between misinformation and different it's just because they can't call it false but they really want him the whole reason they they've created this dual system of misinformation and disinformation so that they can refer to anything that's true as a truth that shouldn't be listened to it's not false but it's you shouldn't be listening to it because it's Miss and disinformation we don't know which it doesn't matter just words words words words word salad vomiting word salad on everything you just can't say this yep the breeze I'm almost finished gonna keep going I'm almost finished let me finish I'm almost finished the brief also called on major tech companies to quote invest in human and artificial intelligence content moderation systems end quote there's the there's the AI That's the real use from health and gender equality to peace Justice education and climate action all of the buzzwords measures that limit the impact of myths and disinformation and hate speech will boost efforts to achieve a sustainable future and leave no one behind except anybody who doesn't toe the line the report concluded I I have to wonder when they're gonna do away with the whole distinction between misinformation and hate speech because the only difference is you're talking about at the time when when you're expressing you know a true statement that some powerful liar doesn't want you telling yeah if the Forbidden truth you're telling is of a scientific nature it's misinformation if it's of uh socio-political nature it's hate speech but you'll notice there are uh anomalous sets of circumstances if I say men have X Y chromosomes and women have X X chromosomes you'll notice what we call that is hate speech yeah as as a statement it's not it's it's socio-politically colorblind it's 100 a scientifically the biologically genetically ascertained assertion but we can't get away with calling it misinformation to say such things about chromosomes because it's not by any measure ever taken place it is true but it's still something we don't want people to hear so we just have to call it hey speech whereas you if and when someone says the unvaccinated needs to be bullied and coerced and forced and treated like second-class citizens until they comply you'll notice the this is not hate speech even though it is a wholly social political statement the only vaguely scientific word in there is unvaccinated and it becomes rather a new moot point when it turns out the so-called and the so-called vaccinated are no more vaccinated than the unvaccinated so it's this the science is what we say it is love and hate are what we say they are men and women are what we say they are the fabric of reality itself is whatever we say it is there really is no difference between rationality and spirituality between Theory and empiricism it's all just one big screen it's all one big tale told by an idiot full of Sound and Fury signifying nothing inside and it's something of an inconvenience to have to have to call it two different things misinformation in his speech uh over basically arbitrary reasons so it's only a matter of time before they find a lexical marriage betwixt the terms misinformation and hate speech they'll find a catch-all term that means both it's how new speak works quite predictably as outlined I either it'll all be called hate speech or it'll all be called misinformation and eventually it will all be encompassed under the umbrella term bad either you're a bad person or you're a good person there won't even be bad statements and good statements there will just be statements that make you a bad person and statements that make you a good person I've tried to warn people about this when you reduce yourself to charging someone with being a bad person for whatever reason and you think that by saying so you're somehow getting through to anyone all you're doing is sitting cross-legged in the final destination of the Newspeak movement you can sit there going you're a bad person because you won't have children but you will be drowned out by the people who say you're a bad person because you do have children and you will have nothing left to say because they won the shame War they won the language War because you gave up years ago a new resulted even before they did you resorted to just calling people bad people well [ __ ] grow up people people of all goods and bats serious oh you you're not bad people you're just childish call things what they are as specifically as you can while you still can this is this is happening it's the big brother future it's not just about to happen it's not just starting to happen it is happening and it's not just in the early stages of the happenings in the late stages and we don't have very long at all before it's fully and irreversibly happened one of the things that I would point out here is that it literally doesn't matter what a misinformation disinformation hate speech verboten anything it doesn't matter why they're telling you that you can't say it it matters that they're telling you that you can't say it just like the the Amazon story a governing entity does not have the right to limit your speech and there is no human right to control what other people think there is no human right to control how other people view you or what other people's political opinions are there isn't even a human right to control people's lifestyle choices based on those things this is why there's no human right for instance to insist that people cannot be gay and cannot partner with each other even if you refuse to call their partnership a marriage you have that right you don't have to call something a marriage if you don't want to but for instance you cannot you don't have a human right to uh go to their home and insist that one of them move out because they can't be partners because you consider that an affront to your religion right that's that's the left-wing protection end of it um the it's the left that fought for that for years and years and all right finally acquiesced all right yeah we'll accept that right there's also not a human right to access to somebody's children to convert them to your way of thinking and yet we're hearing criticism of people doing that is hate speech right there's not a human right to insist that people change their speech to address you the way that you see fit or to talk about you the way you see fit there's that that does not exist as a human right and yet we're being told that it does that it's hate speech if somebody doesn't use your pronouns or somebody doesn't say nice things about you because of your demographic or if you're not allowed to say mean things about certain demographics because they're privileged that is [ __ ] and the real egregious problem here the real serious uh oh [ __ ] moment here isn't the fight over what constitutes hate speech and disinformation or what doesn't and whether you know you you should be punished for engaging in it none of that matters it's all in the weeds the real oh [ __ ] moment is a governing body that makes policy that Nations adopt as part of their national law or their National Park policy because they are members of this organization is demanding censorship of your speech based on standards that are as uh vague and and malleable as disinformation misinformation and hate speech and it wouldn't matter what they called them there should be no censorship that's attached to any government governing body there should be no organization of that and frankly any non-government organization any any um corporate organization or any uh political organization should not want that because that would affect their consumers their loyalists um for forever so there is just no uh no looking at this without recognizing that your human right to observe and uh draw conclusions about reality as you see it and then talk about those conclusions based on your assessment and not somebody telling you what to think and what to say is under attack and honestly the best solution the United States could do is to Simply leave the U.N defund it stop paying dues stop being a member stop listening to them don't be involved anymore and there was that's where we should be pressuring pressuring our politicians because this is the kind of [ __ ] that you and is doing now it's not doing good things for people it's not helping people it's not doing anything for us and it's not helping us do anything for people in need around the world that we can't do without the U.N so why are we even involved in this organization they are trying to undercut our sovereignty sovereignty as a nation and they're making a demand that policy be adopted that goes directly against our constitution they're unelected too so I mean not that that matters because again it's a violation but I think that every country should leave the U.N I think they should all demand it these people are evil we don't we we don't elect them and they're literally like trying to form a global government uh Alex Jones has entered the chat but this is true this is why this guy is putting it in global terms so no we get this is this is wrong now I gotta move on because we are at the time where I would normally end it but I do have one more story so but I want you guys to notice that I chose these stories for a reason because even though they may appear at first glance to be separate they are connected there is something that connects all of this together so uh let us know what you guys think about this in the comments I'm gonna read some super chats here um Richard bierre gives us 4.99 and says Hannah is there a human right to be topless on the White House lawn no it's public property and is it legal to be like honestly I I don't laws that make you wear clothes are kind of a violation of your human right although personally if you're gonna go topless on the White House lawn definitely do it in July and not January that's my main recommendation you will not enjoy it in January I will I will I will also say that it is definitely legal to go topless in the White House lawn but it's not legal to sing the national anthem inside so can can you truly be legally topless if you've been through Top surgery yeah I know to it but but it's that that's no what technically everybody has a top so there is no such thing as topless all right um so anyway we're gonna move on to the next story let us know what you guys see McGee has the top of his ass yes uh let us know what you guys think about this one I see McGee I I do know who Ashley McGee is yes um all right so we're gonna move on an Explorer let us know what you guys think about this in the comments and now we got the last one so seems like every day there's some different story coming out about how the United States government is inching closer and closer to how China keeps control of its citizens through social index scores or social credit scores the U.S Department of Homeland Security had an initiative in 2018 called Night Fury that had the goal of identifying social media users who were likely to be terrorists complaint made to the office of the Inspector General said that the program did not include safeguards to respect the privacy of American citizens in 2018 the DHS Science and Technology director had partnered with University of Alabama Birmingham to quote develop automated processes to identify potential pro-terrorist social media accounts and open Facebook groups where pro-terrorist accounts interact and quote the contract stated that quote the contractor shall conduct r d on leveraging open source and social media to counter terrorist use of the internet and other DHS use cases such as human trafficking transnational criminal networks end quote this contract costs U.S taxpayers 790 thousand dollars the oig published a report referencing Night Fury in 2020 after the complaint alleged that the uh that the project failed to maintain proper oversight the complainant stated the project began in September of 2018 and specifically included data collection of millions of social media records including posts videos and photos also the complaint notified oig of concerns that SNT may not have ensured effective programming oversight employee accountability accountability uh Federal records management contract documentation and information security for this specific project as a reminder the usdhs was the same organization that in April of 2022 had created the quickly and quickly disbanded the quote disinformation governance board end quote this board was allegedly created to combat misinformation and disinformation I guess only time will tell how many more initiatives like Night Fury exists that that we just don't know about yet are you guys seeing the pattern of all of these stories like what they have in common where they're sort of linked together the threads of this particular web yeah it's all it's all about taking away your individual autonomy your individual rights your your freedom of speech you're right to observe and draw conclusions about reality and handing them over to a governing body in in the United States that is in direct violation to our constitutional uh our constitutionally protected rights and Liberties and they're just basically using social justice as the road map so do you think that like this this thing where they're tracking down terrorists do you think that they're gonna like I don't know go after antifa do you think that's gonna happen no because antique was just an idea it's not actually a group that's right do you think they're gonna go after black lives matter no no they're necessary we we need them to fight against Injustice do you think they're going to come after men's rights activists it's not just an idea it's a terrorist group and we've completely defeated it but you must all be afraid of them yes don't you remember like when they were like trying to gas everybody up like Isis hey is the new thing it's it's this new thing like you know we just had this this uh underground seal open like the tomb of Tutankhamun and out marched you know uh like 100 D50 new shock troopers of Isis K and I remember looking at that like really high definition 4K teaser trailer that I guess they released and go like wow out there is some U.S government Department really justifying their budget yeah but it's not that this is this is the thing the underlying underlying um motive behind the social justice narrative is getting people to be afraid of each other and I you know this is gendered as well uh once again and I remind everybody men are more likely to try to handle [ __ ] they're more likely to be diplomacy you know minded with each other figure things out try to find a way to to live in peace and they're also more likely to refuse to give up freedom for security because they will handle [ __ ] instead of running away from it and being afraid of it women are more likely to give up their own freedom and that of other people for safety nets and convenience and so we are in a situation where the people who are more likely to shape the social order of things to determine the what what is accepted and what isn't in the culture you live in right the openers and closers of the Overton window the ones who move it left and right and up and down um are more likely to give up your freedom so that they can feel secure and that's the worst part like you don't hear these people talking about being safe they believe in a right to feel safe which is not the same thing and in fact the safer you feel their the greater likelihood that you're wrong you're not safe so this is this is basically a result of women giving up your freedom for social safety for the feeling of security you know as a feeling of security uh but not physical safety not uh economic safety and not political safety just a set of rules that it's easier for them to navigate than it is for you to navigate anything that can make you feel safe can also make you feel threatened it it all depends on the scale and the nature of the scale at the time and and in the place like maybe your man makes you feel safe but he could also make you feel threatened maybe your tribe can make you feel safe but it can also make you feel threatened maybe your nation can and so on and so forth and maybe the globalist The globalist Tyranny that is descending upon you can make you feel safe but can also threaten you I guess I guess you need to um uh appraise all these things on their own terms like how much does this globalist government descending upon you actually care about you as an individual and how much does is the man in your life actually care about you as an individual it's up to you to figure it out ladies I mean maybe men make you feel safe but you also hate them and and want to grind their identities out of existence in favor of the next layer up that would be your tribe your nation or your globalist agenda you know okay fine if if you're that terrified about you know men about the other half of your species could you perhaps project these emotional insecurities onto all the layers above that to what degree can you predict that the globalist government is descending upon you might be just as scary as that man in your life who wants to provide for you and protect you is that I mean can can can you at least be consistent with your criticisms that would be nice that would be a good first step I mean it sounds obvious to us and and we're just screaming into the well that we think normies will be at the other end of but I don't know agreed yep uh all right anybody else have any thoughts on this I mean this is just emotionally exhausting for me so we're too too over protective of little girls yeah and that's that's what leads to this it's it's a lot life is a lot easier as an adult if you first learn to throw a punch and then you learn to take a punch and then you learn how to avoid coming to blows in the first place yes okay uh I got a super chow and a Super Chat uh Rumble gang what's up I'm just checking in to see I don't miss anything I do I do look at that chat every every like at the end of every story so all right first we'll do I gotta I gotta mute mic because he's like there's a lot of background noise over there um Mike could you mute could you mute sorry oh that's okay all right Rorschach know gives us ten dollars and says this is Super Chat I want to reply to the show from a few days ago in regards to the gay masculine man helping lesbian socio-political robber barons their simping may be partly built in but I think it may also be part mean girls in group survival tactic better to a part of the Plastics than not or you mean like it's better to be uh by the side of the devil instead of in his path I mean that might be the case I think that you're referring to the Douglas Murray Julie bindle thing I assume um and just briefly on that I think I like Douglas Murray still like you know I I disagree with his sort of takes in that conversation I think that the way he sees it is it's about tactics so he's like well outside with the feminists if it like accomplishes the goal of doing something about the G Mafia but I think that it's a mistake I think that Julie bindle is the reason why there's a g Mafia and he needs to like recognize that and she will deny it till the cows come home but she is the reason that we're in this mess the feminists caused this they started this so you know and he just needs to wake up to it so there you go direct result of feminist intersectionality yeah and and the thing is it's it's definitely not instinctive um because if you look at gynocentrism and what people refer to as natural gynocentrism it all revolves around protecting the golden uterus not um not not just the the gender not the prettiness of women not the the femininity of women but specifically women's reproductive capacity and women's Child Care capacity so it's about women's utility to children so it's child centrism or Gene Central centrism it is not something that is inevitable and it isn't something that necessarily translates into uh a natural tendency to just defend and protect because women are women um and it's it's the reason it's important to recognize that is because it it does give us the power to overcome automatically siding with women on things just because they're women and that includes feminists lesbians political lesbians and and other um groups that are female Centric and female focused you don't have to do that and you don't have to condone it when other people do that and you shouldn't feel sorry for somebody who is uh caught up in that because it's a choice it may be a badly informed Choice it may be there they may be culturally predisposed to it but they should be able to get past it and you should be able to help them get past it yeah our universities are being strangled by ivy um and and it's considered a status symbol for some reason look how much Ivy we've got strangling our buildings in much the same way Society is being strangled by a certain poison ivy and some people like Douglas Murray have started to notice and they're appealing to the Julie bendels of the world saying this poison ivy has become a problem you're in charge of you know the roots I mean here's me trying to trying to Cull the leaves of this poison ivy but I understand you Julie Bendel are in charge of the roots can you maybe help us and she's going to go yeah yeah we'll we'll we'll keep planting these roots and Murray's like no no no no do that but then it's over and she's just pointing my roots no one's looking at the seeds someone accept us here at Hannah Badger radio we're going well the way Ivy works is is is while it's strangling your buildings and you know whatever infrastructure you're in it's also spreading seeds to grow ever more of this poison ivy and and we're sat here saying all right here are the seeds here are how you prevent the seeds from being continually planted in your civilization and nobody's talking to us because it has n't even occurred to them that it's that the problem goes down as deeply as seeds they're like there's colder flowers let's cull the leaves let's negotiate with the roots yeah everyone's far too busy dealing with those with with those surface problems to actually deal with the seeds of the problem yeah we're the we're the only ones dealing with the season the problem and we've been shout abandoned throttled and buried deep in into the fossil soil so no one can ever find us yeah and so and and yeah we do we don't that's it it's probably only gonna get worse that's why I keep asking you guys to follow us on Rumble there really aren't many free speech platforms that actually believe in free speech so please do that because if you take all the stuff that's going on all the stories I just covered from Amazon this is like a big Tech thing like trying to fight against racism and then there's the corporate thing with Starbucks and the United Nations and then like the feds and I mean not just the FBI and the CIA in America I'm sure that there's equivalent things going on all over the world um it's only a matter of time and probably a very short amount of time before we're gone from YouTube so please follow us on Rumble you know I mean maybe it's a lot of effort it's just it's just one website away just follow us there and watch us there please because we shouldn't be depending on people who hate us because they do YouTube would get rid of us if they could they're just looking for a good enough reason so they don't have to deal with a legal backlash and for now what seems to work for them is to Simply suppress us so if you go over to us on Rumble we might be able to grow so please consider going to rumble and supporting us through feedthebadger.com I know that times are tough because of inflation and everything so I'm not going to push that too hard but at least you know follow us on Rumble and share this video um okay so I got one more Super Chat from Richard bierre gives us 4.99 and says how many women will be convinced to undergo a speculative examination to board a flight and be convicted convicted that they would feel or convinced I think you meant to say that they would feel safer for having done so uh yeah you just scare them enough they'll do it yeah there's an answer to that actually because uh in the early mid somewhere in the earlier mid 2000s there were a couple of women from Russia I don't necessarily think they were Russian um spies or whatever I don't know exactly what their deal was but they got on a flight with bombs in their bras and blew up a plane and after that women submitted to having their boobs searched to get on I'm I'm not kidding uh you know to get on a plane I mean they'll probably just yes you can look at my tits just don't blow me up in midair while I'm trying to go visit my grandmother across on the other side of the the country I mean they'll probably just fire all the men and just give that job to women's there we go women don't make don't feel uncomfortable Assassin of the gray says those were chechnyans um and like I said I don't know who they were associated with there's I'm sure there's an organization behind it I don't know if it was the chechnyan government or whether it was a non-government organization but it was some sort of uh crazy ass thing that that that resulted in a plane getting blown up and people died um it got blown up in midair if I remember right bomb I can only find two references both of which are the uh Tamil tigers no they're Sri Lankan terrorist organization I hope I hope definitely I hope a trans female I hope a trans woman terrorist sneaks in a bra bomb like in the actual like breast implant that would be just hilarious that's why I may be tragic but it would be funny [Laughter] in any case that that question will women put up with those kind of searches the answer is yes they did the nipple could be the trigger you push it in like a button yeah anyway thank you for the Super Chat we have to go so we're gonna be looking at my Lindsay did a write-up for this story about the the sexist male trees but we just I knew it was going to go long so I'm like well we'll just do it in the after show so I'm sorry babe like I'm not gonna be reading this live on the air but I might go through an article written about this story with Allison later in the week if she wants to so anyway um we are now going to look at this the diversity Tree project posting cringe as always um mainstream culture and we will see what exactly the reasoning for it and and what it will come of it how how much more equality can we get can we maximize the quality can we afford yeah how much how about how about that all right so if you guys want to join us on the patron show go to feed the bachelor.com and set up a monthly subscription five bucks a month will get you into the discourse you'll be able to watch this additional content which I'm sure is going to be enlightening and awe-inspiring and you're going to want to transition and just be a part of a fight um so you know hopefully we'll see you there so with all that
