been shot near I75 the Kentucky State Police a spokesperson for them Scotty Pennington posting on Facebook at about 7:00 eastern that the suspect has not been caught at this time quote we are urging people to stay inside Laurel County has about 62,000 people this is a rural part of the state there's also a national forest that goes inside of that County that is something to keep in mind as there appears to be a Manhunt underway Kentucky Governor Andy Basher posting on x quote Kentucky we are aware of a shooting on I75 in Laurel County Law Enforcement has shut the interstate down in both that's all that we know is that two patients here we're at UK that's through the University of Kentucky public relations yet again and as we get more information of course we will continue to bring it to you if we get anything else from the hospital or anything else from the University of Kentucky Medical Center for now live in Lexington [Music] that there were five in stable condition but we first thank all of our first respond White House we thank everybody the subject or subjects have not been apprehended but they are searching for them where they are currently that is some rugged terrain and a lot of tree lines if you guys know northern part of Laurel County it's just is what it is uh but I'm confident they will uh apprehend them we are asking everybody in the city of you what I just Vigilant and know what you're not that it's related to this but he has the opal machine I have that [ __ ] too the ice maker that thing is so gangster the the opal 2.0 surroundings home keep but two cars and some type of altercation led to four people being shot three others suffered minor injuries from car wrecks following the incident all seven people were transported to the hospital they ran the tag got his name um there was gun case in the back that was empty so he had the gun and everything on him but he was shooting from the woods at Vehicles passing by uh I know one vehicle made it all the way to rock to rocks which is uh South closer towards um the Tennessee border and uh then they noticed that there was Bol holes inside their car but um from my understanding there's five that were injured and there was seven total five injured two uh were airlifted two Lon and didn't make it on their way to Lon but I don't know how much there is by that but that's what a lot of uh some nurses and stuff were saying as well Dam but uh I know yeah had yeah his mom and his stepdad you know they lost that baby they've been through quite a bit and but they they seriously are good people you know and I'm sure you know any family is G want to take up you know kid and everything too but you know that don't make it right what he did but you know oh yeah yeah you know anything about um PTSD have you ever heard of that I saw somebody oh yeah yeah I'm sure you know him being military and plus losing a kid you know I lost a kid in 2009 uh it was my first born and uh you know the Harem Dragon bus they was there in the shooting when it happened on 75 right there where and mhm our school superintendent done talked about it but I was talking to some parents because they're my age the parents are one of them lives actually just right down the block but they're not home I'm sure but uh yeah they The Bu the kids was on the bus coming back from the band competition in Richmond Kentucky and when it happened all the uh truck Co truck or 18 wheelers the truck drivers they formed around the bus and blocked the bus in to protect when I was when the traffic was stopped and [ __ ] ah yeah that happened that's crazy I didn't know that about the bus all the parents had done left you know the buses always take off and are a little bit slower and [ __ ] so the parents had done took last 2 hours all Lane of I75 reopened after being shut down for hours near mile marker 49 multiple agencies have been on scene for hours now but within the last two hours the Laurel County Sheriff's Office released this photo of a person of interest this is 32-year-old Joseph couch they've released few details about why they believe he is connected to this ongoing situation and this is a video of the scene right now where authorities have the road blocked locked off they say multiple people were injured but there's no word on how many are their spokesperson for the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington does confirm to CBS News it received at least two patients from the incident so far right now authorities are asking Neighbors in the area to stay inside now of course this is I don't know I was I was scrolling and I saw this random video somebody said it was disheartening this is in Cali I guess city council candidate says child sto campaign yard yard video from a West let's check it out so Laurel County Sheriff John root is reporting that Laurel County sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a gunshot victim complaint on I75 at Exit 49 approximately 8 miles north of London on Saturday afternoon September 7th for a second so 5:30 p.m. arriving deputies found nine Vehicles had been shot into both north South damn bro nine both north and south bound on I75 and five persons were seriously injured deputies on scene transported injured to a local hospital for treatment other sheriff's deputies along with the Sheriff's Office Special Response Team along with London city police and Kentucky State Police arrived at the scene to secure the scene I75 was closed for several hours for safety reasons because of the danger to passing cars in the area of the shootings investigations began and a lead was developed on A Person of Interest and the search for this person of interest is continuing he's identified as Joseph a couch 32 years old of Woodbine Kentucky described as 510 and weighing approximately 154 PBS this indiv this individual is considered to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached not one should be called the scene is being contained overnight and an active search and a continuing investigation will occur at Daybreak Sunday morning all right that's that's a great update because we can come back in the morning when they start searching again if there's something to talk about if there's some type of radio if there's Choppers in the air that's what it looked like it did look that for a while I've been talking about like this Main Road and so they and parts of it have guard rails parts of it doesn't and there's one part that like the sidewalk is exposed but the guard rail is on the other side of the side not the part that's on the road it's on the other side it doesn't protect you from anything and on the other side of the guard rail there's all this grass and stuff I walk on the grass [ __ ] so I can have the protection of the guard rail because I don't trust these especially Florida you think I trust these people to be able to drive straight and keep your car no so I even on the harder terrain I it's probably better for me to work out anyway I walk on the harder terrain cuz I have the guard rail there even though they're not part of it's not protecting the sidewalk and that's how I kind of walk it when I walk those areas cuz you just never know I hear all kinds of stories people yo the other day I was driving and I was with my daughter and there was like all these cops somehow this person's car went over the curb and almost into a lake like they barely stopped the car before getting into they got into some accident somehow they saw this guy I don't know what he was doing I don't know if he was high or whatever his car was literally like on a decline it was like a decline into a canal this guy almost went into a canal so you don't know what these people are on man people are high drunk
