right good morning everybody so the first thing we're going to do this morning is we're going to check the voice recorder before we start Plastering because we want to do it while we got clean hands for one and we just want to get it out of the way so we're going to have a look in our lift and see if it's got anything on it do you want to go in and get it Yanni yes let's get out of the way here yeah let's have a look shall we I stop recing what is the time oh what time is that 9 9:34 that's just now yeah just now absolutely nothing on that absolutely nothing again nothing again so should we take a scroll through to where we're going to be working today and just have a quick look at what the game plan is yeah absolutely we'll work out where we're going to put this maybe well maybe we'll wait till Monday to put it because we're not going to be here the weekend are we so unfortunately we're sorry we're not picking anything up but um we won't fake it will we absolutely not no no so let's go through and then we'll show you what we done yesterday afternoon and what we're going to be doing this morning so come on in let's go through y okay so we're back in the entrance hall um today what we're going to do is Carry On from the Cent well let's start again yesterday we done from the back W to the center with the first not coat but infill to infill all the gaps and the cracks uh and go over the scrim tape what we're going to do this morning first is go from the center to the front of the building the same as what we did there so that we can infill it then so that then we can jump back onto the half we done yesterday that's dry to go over with the top coat and then by the time we've done that hopefully this side will then be ready and cured enough to go over that and I hope that makes sense so then hopefully you know we should get well I'm hoping to get most of it done today um so what we're going to do firstly is move the scaffold here tape it all up like we did with the with the with the duct tape and the uh scrim tape I'll get it out sorry it's it's first thing in the morning uh and then you know we we can um see how we get on today it should be a good day it's quite dark today it's quite a gray old day today so we're going to get a light in here as well so that we can see what we're doing so are you all fit and ready yes what are we going to do let's go good lad come on then come on S go this way you show me huh yes okay perfect H yes okay we start yeah let's get l for for got another barel that should do it shouldn't it good morning Mick and good morning Rick morning good morning good morning um this isn't the convent no it's a little bit differ than the convent change your scenery this morning AR we but it's a bit of a a job that's got to be done we got a a vintage car rally here over the weekend and we got some potholes down the driveway and uh some of them old cars won't appreciate them POS so we come up me and Rick for an hour just to fill them in make it nice again and what makes the potholes do you know well this all the water runs down from the shadow there about a meter full from that end of the from that end of the drive to that end so when it rains it all washes down here and it washes out if there's a hollow there at all just washes it out and then the cars come along and it's wry it just pushes out the shingle but we have to do it quite often to keep it looking decent fantastic and then after this what's the plan for the rest of the day well we're going back down to this convent and we got a load for the deety and uh I think we want to do a bit of gardening too I think you were saying other a day yeah the rose beds look like they need a bit of TLC yeah and we'll go along there me and Rick and we know just the man yeah Wicked well thank you very much I'll let you crack on problem one going just I have could say yeah I think okay yeah sorry yes [Music] about 3 in off so here we are back at the sh oh no back at the convent and what's the plan well well is all this plastic truning you got to go to deety um plus anything else there's bags of rubbish in there and then Nick are going to have a a blitz on it yeah we'll do this tidy up and there's also some bags of insulation that we're thinking of bagging up just to get the the room next door tidy ready for um a bit more demolition yeah should we go and have a look what needs to be done yeah let's go you got all this uh insulation it's only bits and pieces we're going to bag it all up take it down to the chy um then all this can come out all of the ceiling the walls everything we can go thr into the other room then and the aim is to make this room look like that right yeah strip it expose all the all the oak beams Oak studed wonderful so we've got a little bit of time before lunch you're going to load the van and then hit the deety at 2:00 at 2:00 yeah awesome well thanks very much I'll let you continue all for okay y yeah come here [Music] [Applause] okay let's get some faster into this okay so we're back up on the scaffolding now me and yanice have taped um all the beams up so we don't get no plaster on them we've also scrim taped all the joints and all the gaps that are around the edge so we're going to get our first coat on I keep saying first coat it's not really a first coat it's just a filling coat to fill these gaps in the tape then once we've done that go back to the middle um if you remember yesterday we done exactly the same thing last last thing uh yesterday evening so that's all set now that's ready to go with our top coat so once we've done this we can go back do the top coat on there which will give this time to set up and then hopefully we'll be able to move our way along so that's what we're up to now you fit ready to go y yes yeah you got your best plas mom let me feel very good big yeah bigger huh he's growing like your confidence come let's get some past on shall we yeah let's go [Applause] the spm's really there only when we've got a gap so that the plaster don't fall back out look look gentle yeah nice Gent turn your up around turn it around you think you're all this oh come on Y no let's go [Music] okay right so we're actually Plastering Now ladies and gentlemen it's the afternoon now we've had lunch all full up ready to go um you join us as we just we've started already and we've got we've got one two three managing to get four rows on whereas before on the on the lift it went up and down we can only get two at a time we couldn't really get no more than that so this is great this will speed up the process much quicker um some the tools I'm using this is a trail a Plastering Trail and this is what's called a Hulk for those of you who don't know and basically it just helps you obviously get your plaster off onto your trout and then onto the ceiling so and you've had this quite a long time probably 15 years this one probably something like that the handles deteriorated a bit so I've just put some tape around it over the years um but yeah and what it will do it'll bed into so it'll bed into the user that makes sense so your Technique yeah so now our plaster this will wear into our ey plaster so if yanice had been doing it for 5 years so and his his Trail would be different to use if I picked it up I'd know that it wasn't my trail uh so yeah they're the tools we're using obviously we got the plaster in the bucket there with a bucket Trail and yanis you have plaster everywhere yes he's got it on his nose and everything B yeah so we're just waiting for Janis to catch up this bit and then we're going to move the scaffold over and try and get you know a lot more done and then we can come back and Trail it all down uh so yeah that's the process so bear with us and hopefully you'll see some sort of ceiling start to emerge out of this at the moment see you can't because it's really wet you can't do nothing with it what I mean is can't do nothing with it all I would do is just keep dragging that all over the place so you need to get it on the ceiling let it set what I mean by set is let it cure slightly probably about half hour something like like that and then when you Trail it down instead of just dragging it it will start laying it down flat on the ceiling or hopefully anyway so no it will uh so yeah that's what we're going to do is we're just waiting for Janis to finish off his half um so we're doing half and half because otherwise we'd be in each other's way if I us to do that row and then that row we be knocking into each other so we go halfway the meat in the middle and then we move so we move the scaffolding along and we do the next four I think there's five I think so let's go 1 2 3 4 five six 7 eight yes that is 1 two three four five six 7even eight yes we've got eight so four and four should be great which is brilliant so we get halfway then and then we'll come back not say Trail it all down so that's the process's trying not to make too much of a mess over there I can see scaffold it's going to be quite covered by the time we finish but it's I mean it's plaster and it will come off you know we scrape it off and at the end of the day it's it's a toll isn't it the scaffolding to be used so all the old rars fellas all coming to the tip of all them retired fellas Ain it yeah I can't afford to well they won't let me your good spe yeah there you go thank you very fun okay ladies and gentlemen what I'm doing now uh if you remember when I said to you about we have to let it set up a bit if you see now when put my hand on it it's all sticky so what it's done is it's it's started to cure so what we're then do is introduce water to it you could get a sponge on here uh which is or it's a sponge that's on the trail but because these are so narrow we can just use a brush so a brush will just bring the surface don't if the camera picks it up just back to life a little bit so when I put the trout on it and P it across it you can see how smooth it goes so that's that's the next stage or that's that is the next stage but that's also the stage that we're at at the moment we started over there we've done three of them we're just on the last section here we done three or four we're done three so yeah we're just on the last stage now um and you know you still got quite a while to play with this even though it's set that much you know with with water it'll bring it back to life so if you do do it at home yourselves especially with this the English PL just as much as this PL as well the French PL all the same you still got you know a bit of time uh to play with it by bringing it back to life by introducing water back into it and as I say a sponge even a hand sponge if you didn't have a sponge on a trail and you do in the wall you wet the sponge don't know it ringing wet cuz it all run down the wall but you know nice damp sponge bring it back to life and then you'll find you're about to Trail It Down Smooth so yeah that's say that's the stage we're up now yeah this was with I don't know where he is he's oh he's down there you ready y carry on come on then up be come I do your shots yeah he's doing well he is so you got your Trail yeah and your brush yes right coming through a bit more just be gentle with it y huh gentle gentle take your time to try not to get n on the beans yeah and the tape's doing it working yeah the tape's doing its magic like I say so you know especially at this stage as well where we've got rough edges you know around the edge we can brush them in with the brush and we've got no danger of getting it into the into the grain of the beans so that's what we're up to now or the stage we're at I don't know if you I mean if the camera picks it up and you see where we've been pulling it to the middle that's where my trout has Ed stopped and you see them lines in there and we can get them out just brush them out with the water and then it should take them out like so and then they're gone and they're nice and flat so that's what we got to do now to the whole surface all over it and it's as smooth as you're going to get it or smooth as you're going to want it perfect for painting so that's where we are now and what we'll do afterwards once once this is cured a bit more we'll get a Standley knife and I'll trim that tape right off as close as I can get it to the edge of that plaster peel it off and it will look crisp and mint with no plaster on the on the beams and you won't rip the plaster off with the tape worried about that yeah no because I'm cutting the tape so the tape will follow the line of where the plaster is cut right through the tape and just peel it off I'll show you when we get to that bit anyway okay right so this is the last stage it may be a bit early to do this but I want to do this just to show you before we go cuz we won't be back here until Monday um ideally we'd let it just dry but this is perfect opportunity to show you so I'll run the knife or I have run the knife all the way close to the edge of that PL where it meets to beam cutting through this tape and then I'll show you hopefully what I mean don't know how far we went think all the way yes so you can see this is just where we put the plaster Bol up that's not plaster that we put on there that will just brush off so little bit there yeah sure yeah I think I've done this as well there you go and that way when that's when that's uh fully dried them little tiny bits will just knock off of a brush a dry brush and it just you know it it just makes a welder difference a lot of work but it's well worth doing so that we protect these you know these bits here are just what's been left from the sand blaster we'll just pick them out with the screwdriver that's the original Blaster that's been put in there so yeah we made good progress today we near enough halfway we like to got halfway but the plas that we mixed up um not knowing how fight's going to go we got I think we got eight Bas done I think it was eight four five what six Bas done um in one go you know so if we knocked up a little bit more plaster now I know approximately how on the measurements on the bucket I should say on the bucket there's measurements and I know how much water we put in so I know you know a little bit more on another Mark it's going to give us another two bays and I can work it out from there you know just for this this hallway to be finished and now that yanis has gone you happy with his work today yeah he's done all right yeah because it's a little word has it yeah there a couple of little issues he had but they're minor issues you know which I just showed him how to get over and he'll be fine now now he's seeing it good thing with Janis he you know he does learn very quickly you only got to most of the time tell him once and he picks it up rather than having to keep explaining you know something to somebody so yeah I'm very pleased with yanice and pleased with how this is going so and like I keep saying you know this scaffold start makes life so much easier you know i' imagine it's cut a third of the time off what it would take so I imagine that Monday when we come back uh we'll have all this ceiling done um which you know then it's taking what 3 days something like that start taping it Plastering it rather than you know a week something like that so I believe also maybe Alex is going to pop up to mine to my farmhouse tomorrow late afternoon something like that if not maybe Sunday afternoon it maybe will do um so if he does you know look forward to seeing you up there people um and I think that's about it for now so if I see you I'll see you tomorrow if I don't you have a very good weekend and we'll see you Monday
