Adam Sandler doesn't need to do this [2024 NETFLIX REVIEW]

Adam Sandler does not need to be doing this but my man is so committed to the pure uncut silliness you can tell he just has to I watched Adam Sandler's new Netflix special love you so here's the good and the bad without spoilers here's the headline if you love vintage Sandler but have been less impressed with his recent movies I implore you to check out his recent comedy specials this new one is classic Sandler and is easily among his best work love you gives us a hilarious mix of ridiculous stories and punchy songs with absolutely inspired writing and a style unlike anyone else out there Sandler alternates between these Fantastical absurd stories weaving these farsal and wonderful narratives about genies and dictionary authors with well-observed songs that skew and heighten life's little dramas and then this special has the added bonus of being directed by Josh safy he and Sandler have layered in some calculated chaos artificiality and weirdness that give the show a metatextual edge and unpredict ability almost to the point of distraction and like his last Netflix special that had a heartbreaking tribute to Chris Farley this one will also tug on your heartstrings I will say some of the bits for Me ri too heavily on a cheap dirty joke but your taste may vary on that and plus all of the segments are short Sandler never stays in one bit for too long before moving on to something else even funnier honestly Adam Sandler could spend the rest of his career acting in dramatic movies and making semi-decent Netflix comedy films but with this special you can tell he's still bursting with ideas and the energy to make something that's fascinating funny and honest even when it's really silly
