we want to welcome everybody to Frankfurt on behalf of the Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce this is our 56th parade and Fall Festival this year's theme is Hometown Heroes so thank you all for coming out today my name is Bob Kennedy and President of the Frankfurt chamber it's my pleasure to introduce my co- announcer Mr John herder thank you Bob I'm John herder I was the president in 2000 and I think Bob was right there with me then and here we are again today I uh I accused I was accused Bob of drawing me out of retirement but that's that's a I misspeak when I say that because if I say that if this would be a job and this isn't a job this is an honor and a privilege you bet John hey it gives me great pleasure to introduce a young lady who's a sophomore at Lincoln Way East who's going to sing our national anthem so if you're able to please stand remove your hats and let's welcome Brooklyn Dylan who's going to again sing our national [Applause] anthem oh say can you say by the dawn's early light what so proudly we held at the twilight's last leing whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perous fight oh the r parts we watch were so gallantly streaming and the rockets regular the bombs burst singing gave proof through the night that our flag was still there oh say does that star fangled B no it away for the land of the Bree and the home of the bra wo thank you Brooklyn thank you very much Brooklyn and now please be prepared to view one of the greatest fire departments ever uh this fire department really uh holds a a place in my heart that is near and dear 40 years ago exactly I was the chief of this fire department the last all volunteer Chief and I rode in this fairy parade in their antique truck and that was a privilege then and it's a privilege now to introduce them they have they have five stations a huge Frankfurt Protection District huge programs for the community and they've always had one of the best training programs ever in fact we used to we used to talk about their training programs we trained firefighters that went on to other cities and other Villages and became those Fire Chiefs there so we probably trained most of the best Chiefs in Northern Illinois and here they are right before us and I think they're followed by another organization that is connected to the Frankfurt Fire Protection District and that would be the project fire [Music] buddies their goal in life is to help children with critical illnesses and all of their programs are in line with the Frankfurt Fire Protection District their motto is and this is referring to those children with illnesses they won't be alone just another just another one of the wonderful things that the Frankfurt Village fire department does for this area and this city [Music] [Music] and I believe this is a good example of what I was talking about the Frankfurt Fire Protection District is going to be here's the project fire buddies oh what a great organization I told you about their goals and what a great job they do they protect these young children with illnesses and and as I mentioned before their motto is they won't be left alone [Applause] [Music] there's been a switch [Music] [Applause] here one more of their great pieces this is an emergency unit this is from Lockport and here is an example of what I was talking about Lockport a great department and at their Helm is the son of our retired Chief at their Helm one of the men at their Helm is Jimmy Grady another great Will County Fire Department we respect very much you bet John great job we've got the banner welcoming everyone to the Frankfurt Fall Fest and the Frankfurt parade which again is sponsored by the Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce now the Chamber of Commerce is a collection of businesses and individuals who believe in giving back in their community and doing the best for both businesses and individuals throughout Lincoln Way thanks for carrying the [Music] banner next gen we've got the Frankfurt Memorial VFW Post 1493 Al Gutierrez is their rep after the fire district and it looks like here we've got our Hometown Heroes our grand Marshals are coming up before the VFW they're being pulled by this awesome Frankfurt fire district vehicle we've got police chief Leanne chalus and fire chief Shan Fierce now John what uh what kind of fire vehicle is that on the back there that one Bob is the exact unit that carried me through the parade that's their Model T uh fire first fire engine a Model T came from New York the barber in Frankfurt Illinois jumped on a train went to New York and drove it here wow and it still runs perfectly well we really want to thank Shan Fierce and lean chalas from taking off their time fall Fest I know all hands are on Deck John based upon the volume of people and activities going on so again fire chief Sean and police chief Leanne thank you so much for being our Hometown Heroes we uh are so grateful for the protection you give to all of us and we purposely put you first in the parade so you can go back to work that's right I forgot about that then we've got the frr memorial VFW Post for 1493 they've been around 26 years John and their Foundation is to serve military veterans service members and their families by securing resources for programs that facilitate Enhanced Life [Music] outcomes 5 yeah the VFW does an awesome job they're on Fifer Road and uh just a quick shout out best fish fries in County yeah and Floyd leverne was one of the veterans who just passed away in 2022 he was 92 years old so we want to give Floyd a shout out looks like John we've got the ROC next huh so we've got the junior Reserve officers of the training corpse or the shortened is the Lincoln Way Air Force Junior Roc that's a high school program that teaches students about leadership and citizenship and prepares them for future roles As Leaders they are outstanding examples of what all three Lincoln Way schools produce yes they are and they are followed by they are followed directly by scouting America and I'm going to read Verbatim what they would like to be said about them scouting America formerly known as the Boy Scouts of America has been a Cornerstone of Youth Development since 1910 now inclusive of both boys and girls this esteemed organizations Fosters growth character and Leadership through a dynamic mix of Outdoor Adventures community service and skill building activities scouting America programs offer a structured environment where young people from kindergarten to Cub Scouts teenagers to 20 can learn valuable life skills contribute to their communities and have fun along the way emphasizing personal fitness ciip and character development scouting America prepares youth to become responsible and engaged adults the scouts and units participating in today's parade have been a cherish part of our community for over 40 years they are proudly carrying the flags that represent each of our great Nations States pick out one that might be your favorite aside from Illinois to find a scouting unit near you to learn more about joining visit be a scout.org now that was a mouthful well done John [Laughter] following them is the Frankfurt Girl Scouts they've been around for 112 years John as Girl Scout Services Unit 78 there a community of volunteers and girls serving to support over 30 Girl Scout Troops in Frankfurt from joining a troop to spending a week at summer camp the Girl Scouts have the chance to meet others from their neighborhood community in nearby schools welcome [Applause] [Music] following the Girl Scouts we've got the Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce float and since 1958 the Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce has been the number one resource John to help facilitate business growth in Frankfurt they Foster meaningful Partnerships that allow people communities businesses to thrive we're over 600 members and the Chamber is proud of all its accomplishments at fallfest where we maximize our return on investment time and resources and we want to thank the Frankfurt chamber staff for all their hard work Jesse Kelsey Pauline meski and Sophie and there was Jessica jacobowski at at properties who's on our board thank you for coming out today next down we've got the village of Frankfurt mayor Keith oal trustees burelli Roni Len Rossy Savari and Petro we want to thank them for all their support at the Frankford Chamber of Commerce we want to thank all the Village staff for all their help with fallfest thank you thank you trusty BR thank you trusty Petro thank you and we it's too precious there's Mar and first lady Kim Ole thank you again for everything May Ole is one of the few people who's mayor bring it over drop it off that's right but Johnny he's not only mayor he was president of the chamber and a Fall Fest chair so Keith thank you for all the support for all these years and here we go our first marching band the seven and eighth graders from Summit Hill this is how this band starts its season it's how we start our parade yay for them yay for us wonderful [Music] job the only one that switch that they switch you and I 301 and 31a so you do what I do the other day switch them in order just so you know you're sence now [Music] right okay now we've got the Frankfurt Lions Club John Nancy Schmid's is our contact they've been around for 70 years and my good friend Dr John Riley's right there and all the other good ones like Al hello Al founded in 41 John 1941 the Lions Club is a community organization dedicated to volunteers who serve the Frankfurt area there's a over 1.4 million Lions out there in 48,000 clubs in 200 countries they support communities through vision and hearing tests food insecurity Pediatric answer studies environmental support youth programs and they do provide annual scholarships for Lincoln Way students which I think is excellent and Bob they are going to be followed by Lincoln Way special Recreation Association and that was a featured uh entry in last year's parade and we're glad they're back this year they continue on with their programs ranging from the basics all the way to special Olympics there to help a special group from 2-year-old to adults thank you link and way special Recreation [Music] Association following them John is the Mad Dog strong strong Foundation excuse me the Mad Dog strong Foundation honors donor Heroes like the 2019 Le ways graduate Maddie grbm she saved and changed the lives of 16 stal strangers based upon her gifts of organs corny and tissue donation it's a wonderful thing to consider to be a donor you affect a lot of people's lives and again it's a conversation to have with your loved ones be a donor hero is what their sign says John and that's what they stand for oh here here's one I love the name the Jolly giraffe a local children's bookstore they encourage reading good for them and sparking the imagination that comes from Reading anyone can come and sit down and read a book at their facility outstanding Town Center bank is with us today they've been around for 18 years and they are a locally owned and managed managed full service Community Bank in leakway uh they've been very active in the chamber and we do appreciate Town Center bank's support thank you for being out here Dan ran Kim Morgan great people at that bank thank you so much these are from danz oh thanks Dan coming up to us John is a wonderful organization Navaro Farms they're over off 104th Avenue in Frankfurt they've been around four years but they've had literally 40 Years of impact they are a farm that specializes for those with special needs it's a really unique wonderful place to go out warm your heart they do unbelievably great things with uh special needs folks it's a really great thing to have in Frankfurt thank you Diane Schultz and everybody in N Farms young in Frankfurt but what an impact they have made absolutely I love that truck John I think it's a 56 am I right yep 55 oh they've got the corn this year too it was pretty tasty last year remember they've dropped a whole bag off in front of us we didn't know what to do with it Ken that's one of the real perks of this job everybody hey guys thanks for being in the parade wonderful [Music] [Applause] I think this is beam light sauna John does that sound right in my book 107 chamber we' got floats everywhere okay I want to thank Teresa cork who's giving me all my updates on the different changes to the uh lineup here hopefully John and I can uh not screw it up too bad right I had I had my script memorized I know and now I've got to make some alterations but that's okay that's that's right multitasking a good a good student can wing it sometimes right John fake it to you make it absolutely but I believe our next entry and I think I see him is Senator Michael Hastings yes and Michael everybody should know state Senator Michael Hastings has proudly served the south suburbs for the past 12 years he has spearheaded projects to include the modernization of Fort Frankfurt and I know you know where Fort Frankfurt is it's near and dear to you John yes it is the expansion of Downtown parking lots here in Frankfurt which we are really appreciative of and the repaving of improvements on the opank trail and most recently another project near Andia is the water tower president ation and I believe state Senator Michael Hastings has allowed a $250,000 Grant to be offered to the Village of Frankfurt and they'll provide some money as well as the uh Frankfurt preservation Foundation also will contribute to check I think of about $65,000 at the Village so thank you Michael Hastings for helping out Frankfurt thank you very much Michael here we go another one I love the name same day teas and their name tells it all you want it you got it same day great product and there's the owner Pete Bon and his lovely wife Sandy and their T Bird how nice does that look it looks awesome you got a band coming up [Music] approaching another marching band one of my favorite parts of parades and this is mochina Junior High School band directors Victoria Clifford and Kristen shuie dedication from the top all the way down to the bottom including band parents for all the time these people put in to this performance on this street on this day great job my country T of Thee [Music] [Music] more of those dedicated people to that band here's their support group they all put in a lot of time and they're being followed by one of the one of one of the all-time great Auto houses in Frankfurt Illinois it is the Frankfurt Auto House a long time established car dealer that's a Landry there behind the wheel I did that Cheyenne Jennifer the horn it's owned by a longtime Frankford family the landries great Vehicles great prices they deliver [Music] absolutely white o okay John we've got the White Oak Institute for growth and wellness next thank you the White Oak Institute provides comprehensive relationship driven strength based counseling for individuals and couples and families they're located in the historic district of downtown uh in the old Orland and in or old Orland Park I'll get that out so they have two locations they've got licensed counselors professional psychologists doctors top rated mental health counseling and other therapies at him [Applause] and they and they love it I could probably sit on it John as best as I could do I can sit on it [Laughter] stationary but not only do they do these things but they they do them with too yeah awesome awesome great thanks for the bubbles great job not a parade without bubbles oh and they're followed by one of my absolute favorites South Suburban Humane Society since 1970 that's 50 plus years finding homes for homeless pets lowcost pay and neuter programs lowcost fet lowcost Clinic far reaching every year about 20,000 pets outstanding touched by them John we've got enrio is our next entry their float was constructed by Chuck jab of CD and me it's referred to as a Chuck ragon there's a beautiful picture of Harry and Shirley dear COI along with Harry leading the charge enrio is celebrating 50 years in business what a milestone they're celebrating their Heroes they've got longtime en rco's guest Bert and Susan Reed joining them Bert was in the Korean war in the Army medic Susan and Bert have been married for 61 years they're honoring longtime prep Chef Delila cous and uh theila learned to make ministr soup from Harry senior and also sue their service manager 50 years of spaghetti thank you en Ros oh here's a great here's a great organization Arctic snow and ice control one of the largest in North America 47 years in business in business in Frank since 2001 and and here's something I'd like to say and if they want to use it as a slogan they can they can steal it from they can plagiarize me if Arctic is present snow is not oh they better get on that John next one I think we've got John is Judge John Anderson for appell at court judge John is Will County Judge running for the appella court and there are 54 judges out there on that system with roughly half are from Cook County none are from Will County and Will County has never elected one ever so judge Anderson believes Will County deserves representation vote for Judge John Anderson right there in the non-for-profit healthcare provider serving Will County in the southwest suburbs since 1895 silvercross has been recognized as a top 100 Hospital they've won a national winner been that uh winner 11 times and honored with an a hospital safety grade by the Lea frog group 19 times and they're rated five stars by the centers for medical oh and Medicaid they've got 4500 employees John's Physicians Volunteers in silvercross has 340 bed a acute hospital with 12 Satellite facilities they are big they are big and they are growing and now another wonderful marching band the outstanding band the seventh and eighth graders from Martino Jor High every year they compete and every year they compete they have qualified for State this that is an amazing record and this is an amazing [Music] band swi amazing love church right off a fer Road know it very well good people oh bubbling [Music] me well sorry folks we got that out of order but what are you going to do and here's your equestrians Jack all right and this is the only equestrian group two horses and a mule am I correct I am correct uh it's a vet close by 712 Center Road they they they do cats dogs horses and it is our only eoin entry and they look awesome okay now we got 301 John that's 301 yeah balance body Vet Clinic yep a support group for the vet yeah that's still them balance body Vet Clinic they're with the horses yeah they're with the horses behind them and I see somebody with the bucket behind them [Music] this is Amsco medal go Lauren Brown is the contact they've been in business over 35 years they're locally offer leagues from Shetland ages 4 and five all the way up to Collegiate the travel program offers offers full and part-time teams from 8U to Collegiate as I mentioned great sportsmanship attitude that's what they promote they strive to create a fun and competitive atmosphere where kids love coming to baseball fields all right who's got a good arm can give me a fast ball here Mr Roni you know oh that kid has a good arm I asked for it there you go John got it got it I was a catcher nah boy they really take their baseball seriously in Frankfurt huh yeah yeah and when they were launching those things out us there weren't that many Smiles on their no they me business they business but they yeah yeah brushback pitch is a big big deal in Fr but we've got body Fountain Crystal Wilson is amazing lady who owns this business on ever Road in mochina they won number one for massage the last three years in a row they've got a 5,000 foot facility in mochina just off of lrange Road and they do deep tissues and hot Stones they do really nice work they strive to help your body flow as smooth as a fountain so you can live without restrictions next we've got bite-sized Pediatric Dentistry right off of Colorado Avenue really neat business they've been open since March of 2016 and they have three locations Frankfurt Oakland and Orland Park they've specialized in dental care for infants company they have been around for 28 years in the Frankfurt dance studio ballet tap Jazz they do lyrical contemporary Point tumbling musical theater preschool through high school they do performance competitions and team efforts they have 200 students John look at look at this how [Applause] amazing and this is part of this is a small part of the 200 oh 200 students this is a small group but look at the ages look at these girls go [Music] yeah they're focused and they're doing what they were taught [Music] great job girls let's give them a round of applause look at [Applause] this John we've future uh Olympians in this group I believe it I believe ity [Music] rep yep then we've got the Frankfurt Township Republican organization off of Cherry Street in moina they've been around 40 years they're a group of local conservatives who simply want what's best for the community they value Traditional Values and fiscally responsible policies that have made our towns a great place to live for Republican yeah that's the Republicans not the uh Alabama's not with us today all right another one of my favorites Liberty Junior High High School marching band from New Lennox seventh and eighth graders they worked so hard to put this band on this street they promised us America the Beautiful and they are delivering America the Beautiful [Music] Here Comes 401 gForce Automotive full service this entry was owned by my very best friend Jim mcnamer and now his family brings it to the parade and I think they might have one of the longest standing records for being in this parade between between her her brothers and Philip Chevrolet they're both close to 50 maybe over hi Kim love you John now we've got Frankfurt girls softball you want to take that one you got for girl softball ages 4 to 15 totally volunteer run and then what they produce is good softball players friends for life and they're always working towards scholarships [Music] yeah I know your uh granddaughters played softball my daughter played softball in Frankfurt great organization next we've got Riverside healthc care they've been around for 60 years John they're a comprehensive Outpatient Center offering yeah they do good work John uh every year I have to get my lawnmower tuned up and I take it right to them cuz they're close I haven't had to tune up my snowblower the last 3 years thank goodness the Frankfurt Library I know that cuz you told me that many years ago when I first met you I know I'm a good student Chad you're a great teacher you're the best no you're a great teacher and I yeah and and you can really catch I haven't seen a such a good catch since uh 56 World Series hey our next entry is to judge art smigelski hello Art smigelski thank you I'm half polish so I had to really focus that's good judge or art smigelski has been associate judge since 2015 as a candidate for Will County Circuit Judge art is recommended by the Illinois State and Will County Bar associations judge smigelski had the highest percentage of positive responses from lawyers who participated in the poll so vote smart vote for art and John I am so happy you have this entry oh I love this entry this is how we conclude our parade every year we we we finish with this Hall Mark organization our very own sought after Nationwide Lincoln Way marching band and the first time I did this I said when they come by they create a wall of sound and now I've had requests to repeat that phrase over and over again you will hear when they when they press those horns to their lips you will hear a wall of sound [Applause] [Music] [Music] now again John the El marching band I think it's going to be in the Rose Parade this coming year I don't doubt it and when they do they stret they stretch for nearly a block yes here we [Music] [Applause] go new uniforms too love them [Music] [Music] [Music] their signature parade entry Battle Hymn of the Republic way do you hear [Music] this simply amazing John we've got a couple other entries yet to come okay we do that's a big vehicle making that turn probably could use two of those for that hand oh yeah they have a bunch of those so what we've got here is Bill Hardy with his military Jeep that's an amazing vehicle thank you Bill for all your support all these years with the chamber we've got our chamber volunteers who help prepare and put on this parade let's give them a big hand before everybody leaves yeah thank you Bill I want to thank Cheryl Howard for doing the decorations for our booth John she did an amazing job as she does every year I want to thank the Fall Fest committee for all their efforts the Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce board the staff I mentioned earlier Pauline Jesse Kelsey and Sophie I want to thank our chair Chris herder and God bless him we wish him a speedy recovery our co-chair Jeremy Kalise and our past Fall Fest chairs Tom Powers and Leslie Walton who've been very helpful this year we want to thank John all our
