Chelsea I'm going to start with Raheem Sterling obviously you weren't very happy about the way raheem's been dealt with nor were a lot of people um not given a squad number banish told to go and find another club with three years left on a £300,000 a week contract I saw you were tweeting about it quite heavily during the week but you were also getting a little bit of stick because you had said it was a fine decision when Arsenal kicked mesad dozle out out of their club and uh you said it was the right decision to do it what was the difference between that and Raheem Sterling because well the completely different circumstances and all well to to an extent it's how you do it it's how if you're going to ease someone out of the building do it with a bit of decorum which I think Arsenal did and Netta did um I still think that Raheem Sterling has something to offer why is he being eased out when mudri is is still there I don't think mri's done anything out he's got an 8year deal maybe it's an aging no look I have absolutely no problem with with sporting directors and managers and owners making decisions on players because it's you know it's their Club their team their money effectively but you know and Raheem Sterling didn't play that well last season you can look at the finance and the age issues like that I completely understand that but just do it with a little bit of style just do it with a little bit of respect I think Conor Galler probably deserved a little bit more respect Trevor chalar deserved a little bit more deserves a little bit more respect Ben chilwell as well and what you don't want is sort of residual problems left when the player leaves residual problems left in terms of do players really want to go to to to Chelsea obviously they'll go for for the money and it's still a good club but do they want to go there if they see players treated disrespectfully like that also just coming back to Raheem there is an element with him that I don't think it's properly appreciated how respected he is within the game and by players particularly younger players when they look at him you know he talks to them he's a role model when Cole Palmer came in last season he went out of his way to S welcome him even gave him the the penalties which is the right decision because cold Palmer is cold Palmer we we've seen it with his with his penalties I just think you do you know don't pick fights that you don't need to if you want to make that decision over Raheem Sterling say listen we are so you know impressed with what he's done for the club but we are going in a different direction but there's an incon consistency here because they've also you know a week ago if you looked at the website that there were pieces with moresa praising you know absolutely that's the weirdest thing about how they treated him that he was given to understand or led to believe that he was very much part of it he did fact Moresco said he is a very important player for this club and he did pretty okay in uh in pre-season so I I do think it's slightly strange when when mudri is is staying there and then you look at Conor Galler and this is sort of the general the sort of treatment you know the way he arrived at Atletico Madrid I don't know if you saw his sort of welcome you know they they obviously they're welcoming a few players Alvarez as well but the welcome that he got and he just looked genuinely moved by it by the sort of you know the passion the support for him as he walked into the center circle it was all dark and then the lights won him and very sensibly he he said a few words in Spanish which went down well so you know quite an unveiling that one was it was it was quite spectacular but you know what if you are it's that sets a tone and I don't think Chelsea are necessarily setting the tone they also are residual things as far more um enlightened people than than me have been pointing out ex players been pointing out well what sort of atmosphere will that leave around Cobin if you've got sort of on the sort of you know the Naughty Boys pitch the bomb squad pitch you've got quite a decent team there was a play there there was a bit of chat about the Sterling situation though about how he left Liverpool and that maybe he didn't do it so well when he left Liverpool in fact you wrote a front page story about the fact he wouldn't stay on at Liverpool for 900,000 a week I I remember that story 900,000 a week 900 yeah it was that's what it was 900,000 a week yeah the story he wrote you wrote a story that years ago that he didn't want that he wouldn't stay on it was something like that and that he wasn't prepared to stay on maybe that was his agent who said he he wants out and he wouldn't stay on for for that no absolutely stering and I think there was a there's a residual element of the Raheem the way he left Liverpool which I don't think he handled particularly well him and his people but absolutely I think that's followed him around in his career but I just look at him maybe it's because I'm looking at it through an England prism as well he's been such an important player for England I do think probably his England career is is over now but what was it 82 caps 20 goals he's a very important individual within football and not simply because he's English but I think players of that stature maybe deserve a little bit more he's changed as a player as well and probably as a person he would say that as well and grown up quite a lot and was very saying as you said as a bit of a leader at CH I think he was coming into this season thinking I'm going to play a big part and I'm going to be one of the senior players and I'm going to take this team onto new levels and they make Enzo Fernandez Captain after the summer that he's had you know that was a strange move very very strange this is Sunday edition with me Sean P and Henry Winter next up we'll look at a bit more Chelsea and the
