what was going through your mind when that final second ticked off the clock on that black field well first off thanks for covering us you know God bless you I saw you over here I said hey let's let's talk to my guy you're here supporting the huskys and I you God bless you yeah this is big you know it's big for our our fan base our program our state if you would have told me that this is what it was going to look like I would have said wow but you know what we won this game in in a lot and I would say all three phases of this game if you look but hats off to coach hammock you know hats off to husky Nation um this made my day I can at least rest tonight to know that we did everything we can we laid it out on the field and once again we're Victorious so yeah it's overwhelming I'm a little overwhelmed a little bit been crying and been praying and I lost my dad in November and we talk about football we talk about all that and these are the games that you want to play you want to win and they're statement games and uh I'm really proud of the kids I really am well nobody could play this game watch this game witness this game if somebody didn't schedule it and you were the guy who got that done you made that happen take me back to that day what were you thinking when you put this game on the calendar well it was definitely something that um Cory frankly was a big to-do list you know I had a lot of folks saying yeah you can do a lot of things Mr Frasier but we want to play Notre Dame we want to play uh top caliber of talent in Husky Stadium um and and go get that done make that happen and that is something that for me um I'm passionate about you know uh having been a former player and a coach so this was something when this happened with Jack scharber and God bless him he is um uh he's retired now new Administration but you know we we we we you know we plan these games out far in advance uh so when we put it on the schedule we just kind of circle it and then we build around the schedule so we had noted name and now you know we have really aggressive schedule we play NC State we're on the road um so yeah we build it out but hats off to Notre Dame for giving us an opportunity you know hey thank you thank you for giving us an opportunity to show off our University and our program so yeah I I really appreciate what they've done uh I really appreciate that we made the most of the [Music] opportunity coach hammock was saying in his postgame press conference he hopes this drums up more support from the fans base from an nil perspective and from from every angle could that this kind of Victory do that yeah absolutely you know when you look at this it shows you a we have a program now there's been a lot to written you've done a great job with reporting you know we we we we play up to this level you know we we this is not the first time we've knocked off a major opponent uh uh on a large St on a large scale now it's pretty momentous I don't want to marilize the experience but you know what our program before me coming uh here uh uh we know what to do we get it done the hard way uh and today you saw the grit the determination the power um the resilience of our young people we have a great program um and we've been really dominant in what we do so although this is a big- time win and we really appreciate it but this is this is going to help us in the new era of College athletics we've talked about that name image and likeness we talked about the transer port if you want to win academically and athletically you come to NIU we'll put you on a stage we'll win championships and you too will be able to better yourself through sport moving forward so yeah this gives us a little bit more juice to our brand I think our brand just got a little bit better today
