I fell in a chair yesterday, getting soaking wet. Watch yourself, because you gone get yourself. Oh. Go fast. Go fast. Where does it stand? Yeah. What are you kind of seeing through with all your guys? I haven't seen jack yet. I've seen them work all really hard in the offseason conditioning program. But as we know, that has nothing to do with playing quarterback. So nobody ask me again. I can't make it any clearer. I have no idea who my starting quarterback is and I am looking forward to figuring it out. So Tuesday, before UConn, you’ll get an answer. We get 15 opportunities in the spring. We start identifying the playmakers, we start identifying the guys we can count on. All right, we got a hell of a quarterback competition I'm ready to do it. That's why I'm going back in that room. When we come back, it's ball. Change is good. I mean, change is exciting. There are student athletes, that they matriculate through your program and they exhaust their eligibility. So there's going to be change. I mean, we just lost our most proficient passer in Maryland Football history. And so now there is going to change at the signal caller position. It’ll be exciting for us and especially for me. I might have the best seat on the field. This Maryland quarterback battle is one of the storylines on the Big Ten this spring. Right now it is a wide open race. First up is Billy Edwards who was the starter in the bowl game last year. He's a dual threat guy, runner first and he has to keep developing as a true passer. And we have Cameron Edge, who's the true pocket passer in the race. He's got a big arm to make all the throws across the field. Then we got the wild card in the race. MJ Morris The transfer from NC State, he's got all the ability in the world. He can run, he can throw, he can create, now how fast you can pick up this offense? This race is going to come down the wire, See these guys int he yellow jerseys? We working. Getting ready for August 31st Let's go. I love it. My man Billy is starting to see it. It’s slowing down, Billy. That’s like it. when I was little my mama said I used to have a tennis ball and have a dot on the wall and throw it against that dot a hundred times a day, used to drive her crazy. Now instead of the tennis ball on the dot it’s a football and a goal post. There's always a reason that people transfer in or out of a program. A lot of times that goes back to opportunity. I think people think that sometimes transfers just pick another school, but that school is definitely like it's your future. You know, it's a school that's going to set you up for the rest of your life. When I transferred I'm not looking for any promises or anything. I'm just looking for a place to compete and where I can excel my growth as a quarterback. where coaches want to win and players want to win just as bad. And I feel like this is a place where this whole building wants to win. You have a kid here who's been in a brand new environment. He's been around a bunch of people that he doesn't know, likes to be pushed, likes to be coached hard. So he's going through this process right now where he's like, okay, we can match that. I'll get there. You’re going to be the first D1 quarterback teamto be using Neurotrainer. We’re a cognitive optimization platform, right? What we do is we build environments that are designed to increase your focus and attention in real time. Get your really locked in as quickly as possible. So the moment you walk out on the field, you're hopefully at your highest level of performance. There's no lag time, there's no warm up period. You're just ready to go. You're completely ready to go. No way, no damn way. I put one on like four years ago. It's so much nicer than it used to be. Like, I guess it's just improved a lot. But whatever it is, I need to get one. I think naturally there's going to be some nerves, which is good, because you get a guy that is a bona fide starter, feels no pressure during camp and then he runs out of the tunnel in front of thousands of fans. Week one That can create some issues. For some people it's a positive because you get to create the situation to create those nerves on a practice field. Deep breath. This is everything I worked for my entire life. So when I was four years old, my dad bought me a pull-up bar. That's kind of all we've done since I was a little kid. Prepare for whatever sport it was. Football is what I chose and I feel like I've been doing this my whole life for these moments. I want it more than anybody else does. Ready to go to cap off spring practice in College Park. Everything we do on and off the field we've been raising standards. We gonna let the world know that we running to the ball. We’re gonna let the world know we’re blocking people off the ball. We’re going to let the world know, we ready to play as physical as you want to play. The team takes on the personality of the quarterback. So when there is a quarterback battle, when you're competing to be the guy- it’s very exciting for the whole team. MJ Morris, say “hello” to Maryland fans. Maryland fans, say hello to MJ Morris. It’s the best position in sports. The quarterback position is so influential on the team. And that’s making plays on offense, making the defense believe that if they get the ball back, you can score More than a leader, you're a motivator. And just to have that ability and kind of have the pulse of the team in your hands is something that you have to love or you're probably not very successful in the position. Hey, you're watching extra film? I’m going to watch extra film. You're still on the field. I'm going to stay out on the field. At the end of the day, whether you win the job, lose the job, you're waiting for your turn still. You just get better in that time than you would if you were the only guy out there.
