I feel like I’m settling in great. The coaching staff has been amazing, my teammates have been amazing. Just to see how close our team
has gotten is pretty special. You know, you don’t get to be a part of
things like this very often really in life, so we’re taking advantage of
every opportunity we get together. You know, training camp obviously
we’re meeting all day here, 6-9, morning to night, so you’re
really around your teammates and they’re really like your brothers, so it’s an exciting time and we’re ready to go. I think my coaches at Buford
prepared me very well, running an NFL system that we ran in
high school kind of translated to here. I’d say the only difference is terminology, but other than that, my coaches did a tremendous job of preparing me. And obviously coming to play for Coach Satterfield Great system, it fits me very well, and we have playmakers around
us that can make it happen. I'd really say the speed. It’s cliché to say for a high school player, but I’d really say the speed. At the end of the day, it’s all speed; football is football, plays are plays. Everyone runs the same things, it’s just a matter of figuring
the speed of the game out. But me and all the quarterbacks are very
fortunate to practice against this defense, which, I believe, is a top-five
defense in the country, and we get to go against it every day. So that gives us a huge leg up on people, just to see everything that they do, but it only makes us better
and I’m very grateful for that. It does. You know, it carries a little extra weight. Not on my shoulders, just like sense of gratitude. This place is very special to my family, you know it runs deep in our family roots and to have my dad play here, his name in the stadium, the first Rimington, and all the accolades he won here, and now to have my uncle in the building, even my sister works in recruiting, it’s a family tie here that
you can’t get anywhere else. And you add that along with the
competitiveness of the football that we play, the brand of football we play, and I think it’s a home run. We’re gonna be really good this year. Only time can tell, and our first game is in nearly two weeks, so you know, it can sound good, we’re gonna be good, but we’re really at the point where it’s
time to put action behind those words. And I think we’re excited. We know the work we’ve put in, and it’s just time to go prove it to the world. We know what we did, we know all the hard stuff
we went through together, so now it’s just a matter of executing our jobs. I think it’s tremendous
what they do for our program —for all sports, not just football— to let athletes capitalize on
their name, image, and likeness. I think it’s huge. You know, there’s a lot of people in the
past that lost out on the opportunity, but you know, all of us are very fortunate. I can speak on behalf of our whole football team and all the other sports that 1890 has been great. They’re very honest and they
do things the right way. It doesn’t feel like you’re working
with a business when it comes to them, it feels like they really have
their best interest for you. It gives us a little head start on life.
