hey what's going on guys so everybody in their mom grandma too has reached out to me about this Tyreek Hill incident that we saw take place on Sunday when this short video went viral let's watch video I did face you understand how you now I went and did all the research I watched the full 27 minute video and I do have an opinion about it I truly believe that this was a case that cooler heads could have prevailed but they didn't and with that being said what I want to do is I want to take you guys from the time the officers observe the stop to the very end and I'll give you guys my opinion at the end let's watch the initial observation of the officers seeing Tyreek speeding so what you're watching here is the officers are on their regular Patrol they're looking at cars go by and in a second you're going to see a black sports car come into frame which is going to be tyre's vehicle and they're going to clock him going 60 mph in a speculated zone of 35 to 40 milph I couldn't find the exact miles per hour for that zone there he is so now the officers get out they get behind them you can see the officer the motor officer rolling up on him to go catch him and conduct what's called a traffic enforcement stop he's going to pull over to the side of the road and then that's when we're going to actually get to hear the initial contact by the primary enforcing officer let's watch hey don't knock on my window like that don't knock why don't you have your seat Bel on don't knock on my window you have your seat Bel don't knock on my window like that though like what don't knock on my window like that why you have it up don't knock on my window like that why you have it up I have to knock to let you know I'm here ler just get my ticket bro so I can go I'm going to be late G all right so let's pause for a second was Tyreek in the wrong for telling the officer not to knock on his window well I will tell you that it is customary practice anytime I've walked up on vehicles and people have their windows up we do do a little knock with our knuckle it was nothing crazy and I will admit the officer didn't bang on his window he didn't knock on his window with a flashlight which has been done in the past and so Tyreek is already a little bit Chippy at this moment in time let's continue to watch the video keep it down hey keep your window [Music] down hey keep your window down keep your window down I'm GNA get you out of the car so why is the window such a big deal well from the officer's perspective he can't see in that window I mean those windows are pretty dark so they he doesn't know if there's any unknown weapons in there and I've showed you guys tons and tons of videos where officers get ambushed we actually had an officer here locally get shot in a very very similar manner the moment he walked up and a guy was pointing a gun and so from a officer safety standpoint that's why the officer wants the window down let's continue as a matter of fact get out of the car get out of the car give we break that window get out of the car get out get out of the car right now we're not playing this game get out get out get out so the officer wants to take Tyreek out of the vehicle now the question becomes does the officer have the lawful authority to take him out of that vehicle let's actually look up case law on this and then I think case law will be able to explain it so that way we can keep our emotions out of it let's read so the case law that I'm going to bring up is Pennsylvania versus Mims long story short for this case law there was a situation when officers pulled over this guy Mims for a traffic violation I think it was the expired registration during the traffic stop the officers ordered him from the vehicle and when they ordered him to step out of the vehicle they noticed that he had a bulge in his pants and ultimately removed a loaded concealed weapon on his person MIM said that that violated his forc Amendment which is why he sued he took it to court and Supreme Court later said this Pennsylvania versus MIM set a precedent that police officers can as a matter of course order drivers to exit their vehicles during a lawful traffic stop for reasons of Officer safety even without specific suspicion that the driver poses a threat so did the officers have a lawful reason to stop Tyreek they did what was the danger in this scario well tyreq has his window up it's dark the officers can't see in and so therefore the officers are going to remove him so for them removing him from the vehicle at this point it is lawful let's continue get get out get out damn what part of brother hey Drew hey Drew I'm getting arrested D I'm getting arrested I'm getting arrested Drew I'm getting up bro God damn TW when we tell you to do something you do it you understand I'm getting out you understand not what you want but what we tell you you're little [ __ ] confused I'm getting out too late too late all right bro take jail bro do what you got to do BR we are we will good good bro it is good hey hey don't worry about it I hung up the phone all right so this is where we start talking about conduct now obviously the officers are red up he's mad he's not listening to him Tyreek was chippy and so because of that you have two men competing against each other trying to establish who's more dominant in this scenario at the end of the day I was telling a friend of mine that look you know what it would be great if every member of the public you know acted and cooperated the way we wanted to was forthcoming with all the information that we need but that's not the reality we live in the reality we live in is that everybody's not like that so civilians and community members are not getting paid to deescalate situations law enforcement is getting paid to deescalate situations and as we watch this do we watch an officer de-escalating a scenario I don't think we see an officer de-escalating a situation so if we talk about style points he's definitely not getting all the style points for this detention but is he within the law we're going to continue to talk about that here in a second [Music] he hey I just had surgery on my knee I just had surgery on my knee bro I just had surgery on my knee iy in your e chill bro chill bro hey bro back off back off right now back off back off right have you guys ever heard of the phrase you get more bees with honey I think this was a perfect place to exercise that type of mentality simply because you got a lot of people around you got somebody that's not necessarily cooperating with you and so hey all you got to do is take a step hey man calm down I get it I know you're upset that we pulled you over but look you're making a bigger scene let let me just take a seat down I'll give you a ticket or do whatever you got to do but just quiet down that's what true deescalation is that the officer kept doing is he kept elevating he kept responding to tyre's action as a negotiator we talk about low and slow so when you want to give somebody clear instructions or try to take them down a notch you talk low and you talk slow and what happens is ultimately somebody who's a little bit hostile they naturally start to bring their levels down just because why are they going to continue to yell at somebody who's not yelling at them and I think this was a perfect place for the officer to do that so before we actually finish this video I actually want to compare this video to another situation that I actually highlighted a few months back involving Lil Baby two years ago when he got pulled over and I think it's a great comparison that we can make for these two incidents to decide whether or not these officers actions were wrong or tyre's actions were wrong let's watch man you know you know why I pull you open if these windows they Ted you can't see nothing El I'm celebrity man nobody can't see me give me my CH me I don't know what what celebrity you are matter my I can't have nobody see me right here I'm let my window up oh yeah look you good but you can't have that 10 window man right give me notice how little baby starts off a little chippy just how Tyreek did but watch the officers response to L baby appreciate have a good day man now who are you you said you uh my name L baby okay I just need you to sign right here okay you got P you don't be want to have you got to have that crazy I take a ticket huh you put 32 if you got a medical exception you can you can you know get the tent if you got a multi passenger vehicle you know what that is it's got to something you ever seen those Mercedes with like 10 or more can't I got no spr too I ain't know that but that Mak sense CU they come like that so you can you can go in the mul you know in the the Sprinter things and you be fine but with this you know if I if I get you and I smell some marijuana and I see you drinking and stuff like that that's a problem so I honestly let one of my my car for a video I just him at I he s up there with you the whole time two you right behind like I ain't let nobody my all right appreciate it I mean this was actually a great example of how the traffic stop could have gone remember I said if cooler heads would have prevailed we wouldn't even be talking about this this was a great example by a celebrity L baby in this case you know he starts off chippy but he doesn't keep going he rolls his window down then he rolls it up after he gives the officer his stuff but it's also a better job by the officer displaying of how not to allow his emotions to get so Ed up then now it causes him to start creating a bigger scene so ultimately who's the responsibility come down on I think it comes down on the officer now I do think that Tyreek could have done a extremely better job of dealing with him being pulled over could have said hey officer do you mind if I keep my window up I don't want people seeing me so I think that Tyreek could have definitely handled the initial stop better no doubt about it but at the end of the day it falls on the officer because we're the ones that are supposed to be trained in deescalate scenarios so what it comes down to is was it lawful per law the officers removing him from the car and detaining him per the law it was lawful but from a stylistic standpoint from a conduct standpoint I think it was awful just because we have evidence to show that we can do this better and at the end of the day as officers we always have to ask oursel can we do these situations better and if the answer to that is yes that we really shouldn't be arguing much the last point I want to make is I think that both Tyreek and the officers failed to set an example for multiple people in this scenario number one is Tariq has a large following he has a lot of people that look up to him and if you continue to watch the whole 27 minute video the way he's yelling and doing all this other stuff I think that he could have been set a better example but on the other end of it you also got to look at the officer and the officers could have set a better example for what law enforcement should represent you can't always get in your feelings when somebody's not doing what you tell them to do so I think both the officer and Tyreek were wrong in this situation but ultimately the responsibility is always going to fall in the officers because we're the ones that get paid to deescalate now before you guys critique me for saying that this is what I mean is that as officers we are trained to deescalate we are trained to try to bring a resolve to situations and we have to be held to that higher standard of trying to maintain that professionalism and if we look at this video and ask was the officer professional from the time he pulled him over to the very end I can't say he was and what's interesting it was not even the initial officer that pulled him over it's the guy the second officer that comes into scene who's actually kind of elevating these scenarios which is why we have to train in law enforcement if you see a partner that's starting to go off the hinges a little bit pull him back we saw I showed you guys a video a few weeks ago where we actually saw that an officer pull his partner back who saw him getting in his emotions and that's how we should be able to conduct our El so that way we avoid these scenarios like this what do you guys think in the comment section below
