Intro [Music] with the arts centre he founded temporarily closed this is the only live music nathan can offer newton stewart the vault had been open just three months when the music stopped traditional music is it's all about the The Vault sessions which is sitting with good friends up close and personal sharing tunes and and so that that has been difficult to not have that in your life and you miss it we just finished our winter program and we had the spring program ready to go with with a lot of new projects and events and activities so it was a real blow obviously and we're all safe and well so we're happy about that but it's it wasn't a nice thing to have to face when we last visited there were big Plans for The Vault plans for this former bank building and within nine months it had become a busy venue but the route back to that is not clear live music is it's it's maybe going to be the last one on the list to reopen it's hard to get you know to pay bands properly with an audience of 10 to 15 and in small venues like this as well and you're doing one-way systems and you're two meter distance in it's it's it's going to be difficult that we had a monthly rock night in the vault and that was jam-packed you know up to 90 to 100 people in the venue um sardines we're going to miss sort of being able to run those sort of packed evenings because that's where the bar makes its money that's where we make money on ticket sales and that's how we pay the artists and the staff the charity Music Festival also lost out on its annual music festival for us it was just the whole vibe and the time because it's not just really affecting us it's affecting every single other business and time that was benefiting from it you know so that's that's on top of everything else they've had to put up with this year no visitors or anything like that so yeah we're looking forward to hopefully next year and we've got plans to reboot everybody but it's all it's the work that goes into it for now Culture of gigs that work is focused on reopening the doors to music fans as soon as possible i wonder nathan whether you think it'll change the culture of gigs whether people may be more willing to sit and listen for example maybe talk over bands as they do sometimes yeah um yeah i've noticed i mean even playing outside today people are looking over they haven't heard live music in in quite some time and i think there will be more respect for musicians and venues just because we haven't been here and people have missed that whether they've realized it or not it could still be months before gigs can return to venues like this in scotland by then there'll be plenty of lost time to make up for bruce mckenzie itv news in newton stuart [Music]
