[Music] my name is aael you're watching work garage and today we're going to talk about Terry du bro and Kevin du bro but first please subscribe to the channel like the video leave your comment below tell me if you knew this already or not and let's talk about it okay well um if you are a Quiet Riot fan um and you had the chance to watch the reality show botet uh on E that famous uh celebrity reality show channel uh which chose two surgeons uh plastic surgeons who uh help people who uh had problems when they they they uh underwent uh plastic surger surgeries that the result wasn't good so they helped those uh people in that uh kind of extreme situations and one of them is Dr Terry du bro and well if you look at him as you see here you know he's just like his brother uh Terry's the younger brother of the late legendary Quiet Riot uh vocalist um cevin de bro and and you know it's just incredible that uh many uh years later after his brother was already famous he also had a chance to become uh a celebrity as well but in a total different thing right um Kevin uh was born in 1955 and three years later uh his younger brother Terry was born and obviously they had uh really different careers and um OB obviously if you're a quiet ride fan you know that Kevin is certainly one of the greatest uh frontmen from from that 80s scene and Terry on the other hand he studied at the University of California uh he completed the residency general surgery at the UCLA Medical Center he is also board certified by the American Board of plastic surgery and fellow of the American College of Surgeons and it's just incredible man you know uh if you if you put them side to side they look the same and obviously uh as every brother all the brothers in the world they they never had that great relationship all the time and in fact Terry um said that sadly uh when uh cevin passed away in 2017 at the age of 52 they were not speaking to each other and uh Kevin was found dead at his home in Las Vegas Nevada after a week friends had been trying to talk to him uh and uh he was a victim of a fatal overdose by a combination of cocaine painkillers and alcohol and in an interview with the TV show Hollywood medium back in 2016 that we transcribed um Terry recalled his brother and he said that he he this is what he said he said quote he had a very untimely death in a situation where he we weren't speaking I felt guilty about things he left uh my mother alone he was very close to my mother he never met my kids so to this day I'm conflicted about I'm still very upset with him he was just a crazy high energy individual best memory I ever had with my brother was on in 1983 had just sold out the Los Angeles Forum his album which was mental health was number one on the billboard charts it was a big time in his life I was backstage and he says to me come here I want to show you something he opens up the curtain and says and I could see 14,000 lighters lit for him he put the tower around me and just whizzles me around the backstage and he goes isn't this incredible it was just a surreal moment they were all chanting quiet right quiet right uh and in the same conversation uh U Kevin said that he uh Terry said that he warned Kevin about uh drugs and Etc and and he said that even mention it to him a line of the classic Bad Company song Shooting Star uh as a a warrant he was trying to warn his brother and he said there is there was this song about this Rockstar the chorus of the song was dyed in his bed bottle of whiskey sleeping Tablets by he head his head I used to warn Kevin saying you're going to be that song lyric that's exactly how he died that's what Terry said and um um as noted by The Hollywood Reporter uh at the time after Kevin passed away his mother and younger brother Terry gathered his possessions uh the platinum records that Kevin uh had are now at Terry's house and they dis them to honor his memory uh and this is why he told Hollywood uh report at the time he said we thought we would display them prominently in our house and his memory and his honor it is something we hold it in high regard it's great that my four children know that their uncle was a big time rock star and you know he really was um I love quite right and I I really think that uh not only as a frontman and as a songwriter but as a singer you know Terry's V uh Kevin's voice was just fantastic and you know besides all the the original songs they did um but also the the famous uh Slade covers which were Mama we are crazy now and come on feel the noise I mean I love Slade I love those songs but I honestly and I I sincerely think that the Qui rer versions were uh much better than the the original slave versions and so they took those songs and they made them uh they on and and I that's why I think they're one of the greatest American bands from that time and um obviously you had many other great artists who were probably quite real quite right Randy RS Rudy Saro Frankie benali many others who who played in the band um and obviously quite right was was uh active from 1973 until 1989 they returned from 1991 to 2003 and from 2004 to 2007 when um Cavin uh tragically passed away um but it was reactivating in 2010 with the drummer Frank balii who passed away in 2020 and it nowadays it continues uh to be active with only one classic member who is Rudy Saro and um their bestselling album as you might know is mental health released in 1983 so an estimated amount of more than 6 million copies uh in the United States and more than 10 million uh in worldwide and it was the first uh heavy metal album to Peak at number one on the uh billboard 200 chart it was the first metal album to do that and that's just fantastic well I hope you like the this uh video uh please don't forget to subscribe to Channel like the video leave your comment tell me if you already knew this or not and let's talk about it okay thank you for watching and see you later
