waiting for the backand now there's no back here this is this is 100% love for you my friend what time is it Lads are you only coming home from the night before or day I was out last night and I got to bed around 11:30 so I looked at the clock and I went 4 and 1 half hours sleep um you're going to be okay man you're going to be exactly three more than me oh you kidding what did I got an hour and a half last night man I couldn't why were you traveling no I think I slept into I think I no I know I slept in till 11:00 yesterday so sleep is always a dodgy thing for me what about leaving a club Colin and you realize that the sun's already up have you done that a few times funny funny you should say that somebody was somebody was texting me this yes somebody was texting this morning about um being in New York it was 6:00 in the morning where they were in New York and they said the birds were starting to sing and I just thought of those days back in the day when you'd hear the birds in the morning go oh no I did it again what a horrible realization I did it again when something's so beautiful rep presents itself as so ugly bird song yeah it is and now have a look at you you're you're beautiful you're healthy and now yes you're staying off that demon drink I love it Colin um can we talk about the penguin we we are very very excited about this can I tell you in the '90s Colin my friends and I used to walk around saying this saying all the time as far back as I can remember I always wanted to be a gangster Good Fellas was the greatest for me oh my gosh is is it the greatest gangster movie of all time in your eyes Colin it is in my eyes it's the most an entertaining one for sure and just the scope of it and how it spans decades and it starts off with him as a young kid yeah it's brilliant it's brilliant it's Immaculate but I think my favorite gangster film of all time is The Long Good Friday with Bob Hoskins oh yes yes beautiful Immaculate beautiful so uh Once Upon a Time in the West yep only saw for the first time recently which is a western spaghetti western Sergio Leone I only saw with my son last week even though it's a western they're a bunch of gangsters and it's brilliant how good is that do you do you study these films before you played the character of the penguin because you are a gangster you are such a gangster in this series no I just have a Rolodex like us all Lads do you know what I mean everything like I read do you know what I mean everything you see or here or experence it goes in there so I read something a while ago that someone said I I ripped off I shouldn't be reading things what I ripped off dairo in in the untouchabl and I was kind of like well fair enough it's that it's all in there Colin this is so exciting because you must have seen some crazy things in terms of promotion for films as well and what they do and what the production companies will get behind one that floated through here the other day and I just wanted to get your understanding was that I should go through the process of dressing and having the Prosthetics done to look like the penguin they then said hang on a minute let let's not do that because I don't think you look too different what you already look like and the idea was and the idea was shut down that I already look like the penguin no no were they talking about your Facey your body you're a bit cut off around nipple there so I can't see your can't see what's the machines and the and the receding haline but how long how long are you in the chair for the penguin suit at the the first makeup test we did which was obviously before the Batman film honestly was there was like nine artists in a room someone was doing the wig someone was doing the teeth someone was doing the the bodysuit four people were doing the faith it was 8 hours oh my God but that was the first trial run everyone was dead nervous we were taking our time it was just us in a sound stage in Burbank and then it was five hours at the start of the film down to four and then for the penguin the show was three hours every morning three hours on and one hour hour all of that when you could have just got me you know yeah yeah yeah exactly yeah yeah yeah where the sequel man if they do a second season I'll just take 10% easy what about the Lim did you get the limp right for the penguin was that walking out of a nightclub at 6:00 a.m. in the morning or how did you get that correct oh finally Someone caught me finally someone got you know it man yeah yeah a stiletto threw me a stiletto threw me toe on the dance floor and out one morning in the Toronto in the day yeah I just messed around you know just walked around the house like a gobshite for hours and trying different walks and what I what I thought I could lock down for for months cuz I knew it was going to be a long it I love it can we get this right can we get this right so this this is the series The Penguin but then this leads into a movie is this correct con yeah so the the the show that we did the eight hours uh picks up the first episode starts about a week or so after the film ended the first Batman ended so Gotham is it's dried up a little bit but there are still areas of Gotham that are under flood water the town is is in sh and and beginning to rebuild itself after the Calamity of what the Riddler did at the end of the film and then the idea is at the end of the 8 hours of this show the second film will pick up in Timeline a week or so after this show ends oh this is really exciting mate congratulations cool to be a part of man mate you are an amazing actor we love you down here in Australia you need to visit us at some stage again I I was there a few years ago man I was in Goldie a few years ago working with Ron Howard I had a great time I hadn't been I hadn't been in Australia since I was 17 on the oneyear VISA it was it was amazing to be back well come and say hello mate well I'll pop into you
