[Music] guys I'm over here at spaceweather.com looking at the neear asteroid list and as you can see it's grown exponentially since the last time we've been over here in fact I don't think there were any that were highlighted the ones that are highlighted are the ones that are coming closest to the earth and it has their approximate velocity diameter here recently within the last 24 hours there was one that impacted of the earth they were expecting two to come very close on September 4th one at 2 LD and one at 3.1 LD that's not necessarily going to impact the Earth but sometimes these asteroids that come close to the Earth don't travel alone and that was the case last night there was one that impacted the Earth that was completely unexpected they spotted this thing eight hours before it made impact with the earth once they spotted it they knew it was going to make a collision somewhere with the Earth and that Collision took place down around the Philippines and the Southern Pacific Ocean article over here at livescience.com goes on to say asteroids slams into the Earth triggering stunning green Fireball above the Philippines eight hours after it was first spotted on Wednesday September the 4th astronomer spotted a neverbe seen asteroid 2024 rw1 around 8 hours before it entered Earth atmosphere The Rock quickly burned up as it entered the nighttime sky above the Philippines and I'm going to show you guys the event over here at the American meteor Society you're looking at the reports that have been submitted so far this one right here with the purple circle on it this person here heard an explosion as this meteorite entered the atmosphere at around 12:30 at night here's a video of the event and here's a brief description of what she had to say about the brightness and sound and everything she said it was light blue green and orange explosion yes delayed sound yes and she said she witnessed this thing for approximately 3 and 1/2 seconds there were also several other witnesses that reported their observations to the American meteor Society I'm sure there were a lot more than what reported over here is this occurred around 12:40 at night over here in the Philippines this video was taken by Marvin Kima here we go as this unexpected meteor enters the atmosphere right there creating a very dramatic Sky briefly turning night into day check out that amazing video there was another video that was sent in by Karen this is the the young lady that said she heard sound associated with this thing look at that you could kind of hear something in the background I don't know what that was look at that even had a temporary halo around it what an amazing event that occurred last night less than 24 hours ago these are the reports that have come in so far 16 people submitted reports it was probably witnessed by hundreds if not thousands of people they just didn't submit reports to the American Media society and could we expect more of this activity in the coming days absolutely looking at the list over here at the American meteor Society you can see there's some that are scheduled for the 5ifth the 6th the 7th the 8th the 9th the 10th the sixth on the ninth alone these are not anticipated to make impact with the Earth like that last one did just a few hours ago but you never know sometimes these things do not travel alone and sometimes one will will sneak through unexpected like we saw last night
