Fritz Supported By His Former Player Mom Uncovered 2016

[Music] American Taylor Fritz has tennis in his blood nobody knows better than his mother who was a former top 10 player he is such a great competitor he continually you know amazes me what he can pull off at the young age and he's very mentally strong which is I think a lot of younger players sometimes that's the last thing that that comes he hates to lose in anything even since when he was a little boy just very competitive that's something that we saw at an early age and you can't really teach that and he's very fortunate to have that as a mom she's really I'd say I'd say she's a cool mom you know she she understands also at the same time you know you know I'm also a teenager of a 19 year old guy I mean I can't expect everything I do to be perfect all the time I'd say she worries a lot he loved all sports and was little actually tennis was not his favorite he played soccer he played baseball he played basketball for him it was great because he didn't love tennis so much I think if he would have just played tennis he would have not enjoyed it now he had a full ride to USC that year when he was 17 I think he started doing really well in all the IITs and he was ranked number got ranked number one in the world and it was actually a tough decision because his father really wanted him to go to college more but my thinking was he's going to get the best competition out here on the road and he can still develop his strength which he really needs to do he's tall and lanky is he's hasn't grown into his body yet he didn't really want to go to college he wanted to pursue the tennis and he was eager and I think he kind of made that decision believe it or not you know my dad did mostly all the all the coaching but it was nice to have two parents that could help make important decisions of what tournaments to play which was not to play what time she's been practicing you know how many weeks I should be practicing what I should be doing off the court even myself healthy coaches I should I should see and you know just a lot of important decisions it was all up to me whether I wanted to put in the work they just laid out the path for me to do it if I chose to do it I think playing sports teaches you responsibility teaches you focus he's grown up actually pretty quickly you know and being on the Pro Tour at such a young age it makes you mature a little bit sooner than normal definitely wants me to text her all the time sometimes I just sound a little lazy don't do it pretty typical pretty difficult alone on the weekends when he's home he look he has some friends from school and he loves getting together with them he's done a great job and I'm very proud of them and and one thing I've always told him is hope that he always remains humble and and polite [Music] what a season it's been and what a fitting end for Andy Murray next time on ATP World Tour uncovered will usher in a fascinating 2017 in the meantime have a great end to the year don't forget to log on to ATP World Tour comm and chat with us on the ATP's official social network my OTP now on Vick sled and on Facebook Twitter and Instagram see you next time [Music]
