[Music] you lead the way as a summer comes to an end I cannot tell you what a relief it is to finally completed my chemotherapy treatment the last 9 months have been incredibly tough for us as a family life as you know it can change in an instant and we've had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and Road unknown the cancer journey is complex scary and unpredictable for everyone especially those closest to [Music] you with humility it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you've never considered before and with that A New Perspective on everything is just filming hello hello this time has a above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life which so many of us often take for granted of Simply loving and being [Music] loved doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus although I have finished chemotherapy my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can despite all that's gone before I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of [Music] Life William and I are so grateful for the support we've received received and have drawn great strength from all those who are helping us at this time everyone's kindness empathy and compassion has been truly humbling to all those who are continuing their own cancer journey I remain with you side by side hand in hand out of Darkness can come light so let that light shine Bri [Music] [Music] we heard in the news there just in the last few moments there's been an announcement about the health of the Princess of Wales Kate mancy the Royal editor at the Times is here with me in the studio welcome to you case hello John can you tell us about what's been announced this is a personal statement from the Princess of Wales saying that she is now she has now finished her course of chemotherapy and she's delivered this address this statement over the top of this very intimate three minute video in which we see her kind of playing with her children spending time in Norfolk in the woods she says that she's had a tough time she speaks quite frankly about how incredibly tough It's been um she also says that the road to recovery remains long and she's going to be doing whatever she can to remain cancer free and that means that while she will be doing a bit of um work from home we understand uh she'll be looking forward to take undertaking light program of Duties so in the short term it's good news um but in the we're not going to see her kind of return to full-time duties straight away so look encouraging news in so many ways and no clear details maybe for obvious reasons about the time scale of her recovery and return to World Duty that's right so there's there's no time scale on when we're going to see her next they asked people not to speculate as to when she might might be but we understand that she is Keen to support her family at the senat half for remembrance Sunday and she is planning to host her Christmas Carol service this is something she does every year at Westminster AB Abby so plans are already in place for that we're told that she's having the occasional meeting about work and she's working at home on her early years project this is about how to improve the lives of the under fives in society so it's all pointing in the right direction as you can see you won't be able to hear this if you're listening on radio but in the video she does look very well um it shows on a sunny day with her family in Norfolk walking through the wheat Fields um having lots of fun playing cards with her parents the middletons um and with her three children and William and it's quite an intimate portrait of family life in a way that we don't we rarely see uh the royal family in this way but I think she's she's gone there with the video she's made it very personal very intimate at one point she's lying on a picnic blanket having a cuddle with Prince William um and she's really sort of given an insight into how she's been spending this time away from the public eye K thank you so much for that update Kate manty there thanks the Royal editor at the Times [Music] what f [Music] literally about cups over that's going to take a long [Music] [Applause] [Music] mama
