Lehigh @ Army

start off the Friday games at 6 o'cl we had Lehi who went 2-9 last year TR Army who went 6 and six Army favor by 33 and a half points on CBS Sport Network and let's all congratulate Army it's their first year in a real conference baby uh The Independents are dwindling and they're dwindling fast UMass I think joins the mack next year and it will be down to Yukon and Notre Dame as the only two independent football teams left out there so the independent field is shrinking I'm not exactly heartbroken at this fact I do kind of like teams joining conferences so I think it's going to be fun to see especially Army Navy going to be a conference um EXC me conference battle at the end of that at the end of the year I don't know how that's going to work because if they one of them are going to be in a position to maybe go the American championship game I think it's going to be an interesting thing to work out but Bryson Dy with 60 of 120 last year through for 913 yards seven touchdowns six interceptions but he also L his team on the ground with 215 carries for 900 yards and seven touchdowns Isaiah Alon had nine catches for 266 yards and two touchdowns um Alon does not return but they do bring back daily so that could be that's a big win for the Army program um I think what's going to be really interesting to look at here is can ARB compete in the American year one right cuz as much as I love to talk about the American being a really good conference and I do think they are a solid conference um I'm judging a lot of that on like four football teams I think Memphis T Lane UTSA and USF at this point are all four really good football teams I don't know where the great football teams are coming after that right uh I think USF is a s and 16 that went 7 and six last year but they were on the rise at the end of the year um they obviously beat Syracuse beat the crap out of Syracuse in their bowl game I think they could be a team like Georgia Tech right Georgia Tech was 7- six they were in the upswing at the end of last year USF is a 7- six it was on the swing at the end of last year I think they're going to be a very similar team this year especially with all the talent they bring returning but outside of those four teams right it's hard to see where the other where the other teams are going to land right like it's like there's Tulsa and Temple and not to talk crap but UAB right like these are teams FAU and it's just like these teams didn't do great last year they just didn't Charlotte East Carolina all these teams didn't make bowl games Navy and so Army's going to have right off the bat an opportunity to at least rack up some wins and get to a ball game this year um army changed the way they play football at least a little bit they beat the crap at of Air Force last year I just I don't know if you remember that but that was the game that ended Air Force any hopes of Air Force making the playoffs um army is a decent football team I don't think they're great but I do think they're better than some of these teams in the American I would be surprised if Army isn't going bowling this year give me army to win um but it just seems hard to imagine an army team winning by more than 33 and a half give me army to win but Lehi to cover [Applause] [Music]
